CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 2738 - 2756: I Have No Conscience
This nap, even the Great General wasn’t walked, she just slept until James Black and the others came back. When James Black opened the door and came in, she groggily opened her eyes.
"Aunt, what time is it? Is it time for a snack?" Jane Sampson lay there rubbing her eyes and asked, "I’m hungry."
"It’s time for dinner." James Black’s heart softened, and he walked toward the bed, seeing Jane Sampson’s face flushed and red, looking very cute. He reached out and pinched her cheek, "You took a nap until now, you won’t be able to sleep at night."
"James Black, you’re back!" Jane Sampson heard James Black’s voice and suddenly widened her eyes to look at the man sitting beside her, then pulled James Black’s arm and sat up. Her first sentence was, "Where are my peanut crisps and peanut candy?"
"They’re downstairs, eat them after dinner." James Black tapped Jane Sampson’s nose, "You saw me come back, and you didn’t even ask about me, just thinking about your food, your conscience must have been eaten by a dog."
"I have no conscience." Jane Sampson said and got out of bed, put on her coat, and hurriedly dragged James Black downstairs.
"Jane woke up! It’s time for dinner. Why did you sleep so long in this afternoon’s nap? At four o’clock, I went to your room to find you. When I opened the door, you were still asleep, sleeping so soundly." Aunt teased Jane Sampson, "And you said you weren’t a little pig."
Jane Sampson’s eyes were fixed on the two bags of snacks on the tea table. Taking advantage of James Black’s distraction, she grabbed a peanut candy and directly stuffed it into her mouth.
When James Black noticed and turned to look at her, she even smugly raised her eyebrows at him.
The one who got caught stealing food showed no guilt at all afterward.
"Come over to eat." James Black stood there, not giving any commentary on her behavior, already predicting that Jane Sampson would pull this stunt, not surprised at all.
If she saw that pile of goodies and didn’t take a bite first, James Black would worry if Jane Sampson was still groggy from sleep.
"Lancaster’s wood business has publicly apologized, and Emily Lancaster has resigned due to errors, so this matter is considered settled." After Jane Sampson sat down, Brooke Black talked to her about Lancaster’s wood business.
These last two days, Brooke has been busy, always coming back very late after socializing, but that doesn’t mean she was unaware of what had happened.
"This girl Emily Lancaster is really bold to do such things." Uncle Black said, "I heard from the neighbors that Emily Lancaster was at the doorway of the great courtyard early in the morning, waiting all morning. It’s right for Jane not to go out and meet her. She’s quite a handful."
"Shopping malls are not child’s play. Since she dared to do such a big thing for personal gain, she has to be ready to be dealt with. Yet, Lancaster’s wood business was quite efficient." Uncle Black said, "In just half a day, they issued a statement and stabilized their company’s stock price by afternoon."
"Thank you, auntie, and thank you, uncle-in-law, for all your hard work today. Everyone has worked particularly hard, you must all eat more." Jane Sampson diligently served the elders their meals.
"It’s no trouble. We just say a word, naturally, the subordinates arrange things." Uncle Black responded cheerfully, "We don’t care if Emily Lancaster bullies others, but bullying our little Jane is absolutely not allowed, not to mention she’s now upsetting a pregnant woman, that’s even more of a crime."
