CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 2757 - 2775: Weak Excuses
"No need for that, the driver will pick me up. I’ll drop Jasmine Seven off on my way. You aren’t on the way. Going around a few circles, by the time you get home, it’ll be 10 p.m." Jane Sampson waved her hand, then linked arms with Nina Rice on one side, Jasmine Seven on the other, and the three of them walked out together.
The three headed straight to the World Trade Center where the most inclusive brand stores were located.
After parking the car, their first stop was at C’s store.
C’s happened to have a product launch today, and Jasmine Seven had received the news a few days earlier. There was quite a crowd heading to C’s today, and the store had already started limiting entry.
However, as soon as Jane Sampson, Jasmine Seven, and Nina Rice walked in, the store manager personally came over to welcome them.
"Miss Sampson, Miss Forest, Miss Rice, the catalog of our store’s new spring collection has been sent to you. We never thought we’d see you choosing in person today." The manager smiled at the three of them, leading them to the VIP room.
In the VIP room, they didn’t need to look at the clothes piece by piece; they only needed to browse the pictures on the tablet. For the ones they liked, the waiters would naturally bring them in for them to try on.
When the three entered, they didn’t expect anyone else to be in the VIP room, and surprisingly, it was Emily Lancaster, who had recently become very infamous on Twitter.
This time, Emily was here, and there was no need to guess. It was obvious she was feeling bad because of the big issues at the company, so she came out to do a little shopping to relax.
However, no one expected it, to be a narrow meeting of old enemies.
"Oh, who do we have here? Emily Lancaster." Nina Rice quickly pulled Jane Sampson behind herself, "Quite a coincidence to bump into you here. Your mood mustn’t be too bad? You can still come shopping early in the morning. Seems like things aren’t as bleak as they seem."
"Some people are really weird, saying one thing in public, doing another in private. Get a little punishment, and start blaming others for being jealous of you and not forgiving you." Clearly, Jasmine Seven was referring to the Twitter incident last night.
Emily Lancaster glanced at Jasmine Seven, her gaze moved over Nina Rice’s face and finally landed on Jane Sampson behind Nina Rice.
"Jane Sampson, are you always this weak, relying on others to stand up for you?" Emily Lancaster suddenly spoke to Jane Sampson, "With every issue, you have others handle it for you; don’t you think that makes you quite useless?"
"With what you said, I must refute you, otherwise you might truly think I’m useless." Jane Sampson spread her hands, "I rely on my husband, rely on my best friends. Getting such a powerful husband and best friends, doesn’t that just prove I’m really amazing?"
If Jane Sampson didn’t speak, she still seemed like a quiet, gentle girl. But when she spoke, it really knocked people back.
"Miss Forest, you just don’t understand. At home, you rely on your husband, and when out, you rely on friends. That’s a skill." Jasmine Seven nodded in agreement, "You probably can’t find such friends or meet such a good husband, right?"
"Ha, just twisting logic! All this just to cover up your incompetence." Emily Lancaster sneered.
"Emily Lancaster, if not, what do you think I should do to be considered useful? Should I have come out yesterday when you purposely waited at the courtyard doorway for James Black? When you couldn’t catch James Black and intentionally stood there waiting for me to see, should I have come out, slapped you, and called you a bitch for it to be particularly useful?"
Jane Sampson let out a mocking laugh, "Or do you think wearing thin clothes on purpose early in the morning to make yourself shiver and evoke sympathy is what makes you particularly useful?"
