CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 2763 - 2781: That’s Still Special
Even the music box her elementary school classmate gave her is still carefully preserved by her, and even now, the music box is still in good condition. A gift from a classmate is already preserved by her so carefully, let alone these gifts with special sentimental value given to her by seniors as she grew older.
"When did you come back?" Jane Sampson turned her head upon hearing the voice and ran toward James Black at the doorway, full of surprise and delight.
As she ran, the slippers made a plopping sound, and the little cat ears on the hood of her pajamas trembled, making her look very silly yet extremely cute.
"The jewelry you left at the Black Family was always jewelry you couldn’t bear to wear. You like them all so much, so just keep them for yourself and let Coco Edwards go over there tomorrow to take the diamond jewelry I bought to appease you last time and send it to auction," James said.
"That was a gift from you!" Jane pouted, "I can’t bear to part with it."
"I’ll send that set to auction, and in a few days, I’ll gift you a new set," James gently rubbed Jane’s head, "There’s no need to feel reluctant. Your reaction makes me feel like I haven’t given you enough gifts."
After all, scarcity breeds value.
"If I gave you gifts every day, you wouldn’t think they’re special," James asked, "Isn’t that so?"
"Even then, they’re special." Jane shook her head, "Anything you give, even a toothpick, is special."
"What if I go downstairs right now and get you a toothpick, would it cheer you up enough for you to give me a kiss card?" James asked, pretending to be serious.
"Do you want me to stab you to death with a toothpick?" Jane threatened James ferociously, hands on her waist.
"You never admit that you say one thing and mean another." James laughed, pinching Jane’s face, "If you’re so unwilling, then just send one of my vases to auction, and keep your stuff."
Without hesitation, Jane agreed and crisply replied with one word, "Okay."
"You spendthrift young wife." James teased Jane, "Even the most insignificant vase I have can easily surpass the value of two of your jewelry sets."
Who care?
Jane shrugged at James and spread her hands.
She herself basically never buys these things; the stuff in her jewelry cabinet is mostly gifts from family or her best friends like Nina Rice.
For Jane, these gifts represent the affection of family and best friends, and they are things with great sentimental value. This value cannot be measured by money, nor can money buy it.
Therefore, Jane wasn’t at all troubled when James helped her send away an antique vase.
With James’s help, Jane no longer had to be forever conflicted in the cloakroom.
Jane understood now that she should frequently pay attention to these auction events in the future, always keeping some presentable items on hand for use in such situations.
Tomorrow afternoon, she plans to bid for a few items to store away.
"Why did you pack a suitcase over there? Are you planning a long trip?" James had noticed the suitcase in the corner when he stood in the doorway earlier.
It wasn’t there when he left the house in the morning, suggesting Jane packed it up that afternoon.
"This time, where are you heading again?" Of course, James’s biggest concern was this question, "For how many days? Three days? Or five days? You’re pregnant now, and my advice is to not exceed one month."
