Chapter 458: Chapter 456:Disappeared

"So, you boys mind telling me why you look like that?" Aunt Shafrin’s stern voice was followed by the soft and rhythmic tapping of her feet as she stood towering over mine and Malachi’s kneeling forms.

We were currently in the middle of being grilled because, apparently, our new looks were not acceptable.

My oblivion mark, beautiful nebula eye, and overall handsomeness were being judged as inappropriate, and I couldn’t even begin to argue.

The monkey just stayed absolutely silent beside me.

So much for the Apostle of Pride.

"Woman!"

"Ahh... Shulvan, you poor deluded fool." I couldn’t help but feel bad for the fellow as his devotion was about to get him in trouble, too.

"Hmmm?" Aunt Shafrin turned, her eyes locking onto the crimson fellow.

"You shall not embarrass my master any further." Credit to him, he stood his ground.

"You’re talking to me?" Aunt Shafrin seemed unable to believe her ears.

"Yes. You shan’t—"

BANG!!!

"Ooohh..." Everyone flinched the moment her hand came down on Shulvan’s head, as the guy seemed to see stars.

...

"Now, I’m still waiting for your explanations." The woman returned to her stance after forcing Shulvan to join us.

"Honey, I don’t understand why you’re so upset. I think the boys look good." Son-Kai, Malachi’s father, tried to mediate, but,

"Did I ask for your opinion?"

A single look from the silver-furred ape shut the crimson-furred ape down.

"Sorry, boys," he mouthed silently.

I could only shake my head at the predicament.

To think I would be defeated not by some terrifying foe, but by a strong-handed mother instead. I was almost sighing wryly when—

"Hey... follow my lead." My voice drifted into Malachi’s mind as an idea lit up in my head.

"Aunt Shafrin, you’ve got it all wrong," I said as politely as I could.

"What have I got wrong, Dante? Do tell me, please."

"Ahem... what I mean is, what you’re seeing, it’s all fake. Yes, Malachi and I were just trying out something with a new technique we learned." I nudged the monkey, signaling him.

"Ahh! Yes! Mother, what he said."

"Damn this buffoon."

"And how am I supposed to believe that? What game are you two playing at?"

"No game at all, Aunt Shafrin. Look, I’ll prove it to you right now." Saying so, I willed the <Myriad Transformation Art> into action.

Just because my system no longer bothered to show them didn’t mean they were absent or unusable.

A golden glow covered my body as my oblivion markings disappeared, my eyes returned to their pure golden glow, my height reduced from the towering 8ft5 to my former 7ft5, and once the glow receded, the Dante that Aunt Shafrin was familiar with had reappeared.

"See? Just a little test." I smiled as innocently as I could.

"Hmmm...." She still seemed in doubt, but then, a flash of red light lit up beside me as Malachi returned to his former looks as well, and it was only then that the woman finally relented.

"Hmmm... alright then. I guess you boys are off the hook, but if I ever find out that you two have truly taken on such a look, humph!" She threatened before walking off into the kitchen.

"Damn... I hope I never have to go through that again."

"Pfft...." The choked voices of Leo, Salazar, and Paku instantly drew my ire as I swiveled to the three fuckers.

"Don’t you motherfuckers dare—"

"Pfft...hahahahahahahahahaha!!" I wasn’t even done threatening them before they burst out into hysterical laughter.

"He... he had to use an art to escape!! Ahahahahahaha!!!" Leo.

"I am absolute this. I am absolute that. I’m an absolute wuss is more like it." Paku.

"Aunt... oh, scary and terrifying aunt, it’s just a joke, it’s just a joke, don’t beat me up, please, dear aunt of mine... bahahahahahahahahaha." Salazar.

I couldn’t even begin to understand how I was feeling right now, being laughed at so plainly.

And as if that wasn’t enough—

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" The ladies were laughing at me, too.

"He begged!!! Fuck!! He begged like a bitch!! Ahahahahahahaha!! Oh, this is golden! I need to have this woman available at every moment. Let someone keep curbing this bastard’s bullshit, fuck! My stomach hurts!!" Trust Sana to lead the charge, as the annoying tower spirit was currently on her back, trying not to suffocate from laughing too much.

"Sana, I understand, she’s a petty woman. But Shaia, you and Terra, too? I am disappointed."

"Hahaha... hooo... oh, my love. Don’t be upset. It’s just... it’s just... seeing you so humble and low... hahahahahaha... it’s a sight for sore eyes." Shaia.

"Husband has no need to worry. I’m still perfectly happy to be your wife, even if you’re nothing but mush when faced with maternal authority, hehehehehe..."

"Fine... laugh it up. I’ll get you girls back someday, I swear it." I swiftly cut the connection as I couldn’t stand Sana’s increasingly loud laughter. The spirit was definitely doing it to annoy me, and the fact that it was working was pissing me off even more, so—

BANG!!!

I decided to let off some steam as my hand found Shulvan’s head.

"Ahh!! Master, why!?"

"I need to blow off some steam. Now, be a good apostle and stay still."

"If that’s what Master wishes, then I can only comply." I lost all my momentum the moment this bastard decided to play martyr.

"What the fuck are you doing?" I could only ask in dumbfoundment as the fucker had gone down on both knees, arms spread out wide.

"I am Master’s to do with as he so wishes. So use me. Use me to your heart’s content, and I shall be satisfied."

"Ewwww...." Paku.

"Fuck! What the hell!?" Leo.

"Eyy? You two are like that? No wonder, that explains a lot." Salazar.

"Fuck! Dante, what the hell is going on here?" Even Malachi was thrown off by the act as I stood there in sheer horror.

"No.. no.. you guys have it all wrong... you’ve seen my women, this is all just..."

"Ahhh!!!! I knew it! I knew it!! This bastard couldn’t even let his own apostle go." Sana.

"My... my love. Are you.. are you really that pressed? I can... I can sacrifice my dignity and we can do it in Father’s domain." Shaia’s horrified voice was like a hammer banging against my already prepared coffin, but,

"Ahhh!!! Husband! Nooooo!!!! Why!! I’m sorry! Terra will definitely make it up to you! I’ll get myself ready immediately! You don’t need to keep suffering like this." Terra’s words were the final nail in the coffin as,

"BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!"

"Pffft... ahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!"

I could only collapse to my knees as the entire world was suddenly against me. Was it my fault that I was awesome? Was it my fault that I was amazing? Did the world have to do me dirty like this?

"Haaa... I guess you can’t win every battle, after all." I could only mutter bitterly as I waited for the bastards to calm down.

"Master, Shulvan is waiting."

"This motherfucker!!"

BANG!!!

"AHHHHHH!!!!"

....

....

"So, what was that back there, Dante boy? Why were all those stuck-up powers from the central continent groveling like dogs earlier?" Son-Kai, Malachi’s father, asked as the group had finally calmed down enough for everyone to have a civilized meal.

We didn’t need it, none of us did, but it was still a pleasure I wouldn’t miss for the world.

"Oh, that? I was just putting them in their places so they know not to go against god when next they see Him."

"Go against god? Which god are we talking about? I thought the church was thoroughly uprooted from Terra’s lands? Is a new religion coming out?" The man asked, confused.

"New religion? I hope not. I don’t need people praying to me or what not. Not like I’ll pay them any mind anyway." I shrugged off as I replied.

"Wait a minute. The god you’re talking about here is you?"

"Of course. Who else did you think I was talking about?" I still hadn’t bothered to raise my head from the scrumptious meal I was buried in.

Aunt Shafrin might be strict and strong-handed, but one thing she isn’t is a bad cook.

"Damn!"

I was so engrossed in eating that I hadn’t even noticed the silence from the man and his wife until I stopped.

"Ehh? Aunt Shafrin, Uncle Kai, what’s wrong?"

"Boy... you’re asking me what’s wrong when you just called yourself a god? When did you become one, huh?" The crimson-furred ape asked, confused.

"Oh, that. Well, I’m not a god-god. I’m just like a god on Terra, and that’s because I’ve taken possession of the planet, or maybe it’s better to say I married her." I shrugged.

The two apes, Son-Kai and his wife, blinked three times, their gaze sweeping past my group, looking for any reaction. But they received none, so their only reply could be—

"Huh?"

Yeah, I think I successfully broke Malachi’s parents.

I was about to reply when Terra’s voice rang out in my head, this time serious with none of the laughter from before.

"Husband, I think we have a problem, one I believe you should look into."

Hearing the tone and weight in her voice, my own face changed as I asked her,

"What’s wrong? What happened?"

"It’s the abyss gates you were interested in checking out on Aetheris."

The moment I heard her mention the abyss gates I had thought of in passing while I was on Aetheris, a weird feeling welled up from my gut. I somehow felt like I wasn’t going to like what came out of her mouth next, but still,

"What happened to them?" I asked just to be sure, and just like I had thought, I didn’t like her answer one bit. Because—

"They’re gone... Aetheris’s gates to the abyss, they have disappeared."

********

A/N: Hmmm... the abyss is cooking something, or am I tripping. Oh and I’m feeling a lot better now, still not hundred percent but a lot better, thanks and as always,
