Chapter 478: Chapter 476:Malachi vs Paku.

BOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!! The entire region shook as Malachi and Paku collided once more, energy shockwaves blasting outwards wildly.

"Aren’t... aren’t you going to do something?" Nyssara still seemed hell-bent on getting me to act, but—

"It’ll be fine. They’re just playing around a bit," I assured her firmly.

"I’LL RIP YOUR HEAD OFF YOUR SHOULDERS, YOU OBNOXIOUS MONKEY!!!!" Paku.

"Humph! Uncultured rodent. Come! Let me put you out of your misery!" Malachi.

"They don’t sound like they’re playing around to me!!," Nyssara lamented loudly.

"Don’t worry, just trust me. They’re just saying words they won’t see through."

"This...."

"YAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!! BROTHER MONKEY!!! BROTHER CHIPMUNK!!!! GOOOOOOOO!!!!!" Lucien, ever the excited little man, yelled out as loudly as he could, his voice disappearing into the void of space.

"See?" I brought the excited ball of joy down, placing him right before the anxious Nyssara. "Even the little guy is excited, so just calm down."

"Stop... stop corrupting the child!! What’s wrong with you!?"

"Big brother!! Big brother!!"

"Hmm? Little man, what’s up?"

"Brother monkey and chipmunk are so coool.."

"Cooler than me?"

"Nuh-uh! But... but.. brother chipmunk is so BIIIGGG!! And brother monkey is so SHINNNY!!! They look amazing." The child’s bright purple eyes glowed in fascination as he stared at the colossal clash still raging on.

"Big brother, do you think Lucien can get that big and shiny someday?"

"Hmm? Of course. Just grow up a bit more and big brother promises to make sure you can get that big and shiny."

"REEAAALLLYYYYY!!!! PRRROMISSSSEE!!!?"

"Yes. I promise."

"YAAAAAAYYYYY!!!" The little man literally began sparkling from overwhelming joy, but—

"Luc... Lucien!! No. Don’t be like them!! Don’t become a battle-obsessed junkie!!" Nyssara was panicking in her skin.

"Dante!! Stop corrupting the child!! Look what you did!!"

"Lucien!! Get back here!!!"

"Hmmm... how long do you think it’ll take till she realizes meekness is just asking to be exploited by this bastard?" Sana.

"I’ll give her a few more days. I’m sure after he’s gotten on her nerves enough, she’ll toughen up." Shaia.

Wisely, I decided to ignore the chattering women and struggling Nyssara as I focused truly on the clash currently wreaking havoc on the very fabric of space itself.

...

OOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

The clash between Malachi and Paku wasn’t merely a physical one. No. It was both ideological and conceptual in its ferocity.

Malachi’s aura pressed upon the fabric of reality like the will of an emperor forcing his subjects to bow. His will immutable. Irrefutable. Unchallenged.

He didn’t ask; no, he demanded subservience, and reality was forced to obey.

But...

ROOOOOOOARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

That seemed to set the furball off even more as he glowed a malevolent crimson.

He was the Apostle of Wrath; "raging behemoth" was what his epithet had said, and what that meant was, the angrier he got, the more powerful and large he could become.

And considering that Paku was now large enough for planets to look like marbles before him, I could only imagine how much anger was boiling through that massive frame.

"YOU INSUFFERABLE MONKEY!!!!" The now world-sized kaiju roared out in anger as a raging crimson fist tore through space, fractures being left behind in its wake as it descended upon the now tiny-as-a-speck-of-dust Malachi. Yet the monkey remained undaunted.

"Getting bigger only makes you that much easier to hit." His voice hadn’t changed from that indifferent condescension as his staff glowed a brilliant golden light, washing over his half of the battlefield as the world was split into two colors.

On one side, an imperious, prideful gold.

On the other, a wrathful, raging crimson.

I could feel multiple powerful auras already approaching this region, the clash between the two having successfully awakened some old monsters protecting the high planar galaxies, as they came to investigate and probably stop whatever was happening.

Yet the moment their attacks hit—

ZIIIIINNNGGGG!!!

The world went white for a brief instant as multiple of those auras winked out instantly, and then—

BOOOOOOOOAMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

Pandemonium!

CRAAAACCCCCKKKKKK!!!!

A jarring sound rang out through the region as the realm’s structural stability threatened to collapse completely from the sheer destruction bleeding out from the point of collision.

Red and Gold.

Wrath versus Pride.

Neither seemed the least bit willing to fold or bow to the other.

"ROOOOOOOARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!" Paku roared out, aura climbing valiantly as he threatened to overwhelm Malachi, but—

"I am the Apostle of Pride." The monkey’s mouth opened as his voice resonated through one’s very being.

"I cannot be overwhelmed. Not by heaven. Not by earth. Not by anything in all of existence, for I... am the Ego of he that is...

... ABSOLUTE!"

The moment Malachi’s words were completed, the realm went silent for a brief moment, before—

HOOOOONNNNGGGGG!!!!!

A sound like reality itself was acknowledging something echoed through time and space, reaching distances I couldn’t even begin to try understanding, and that was because all my attention had been turned to the phenomenon occurring before me.

OOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!

A blinding golden glow covered all of Malachi as his aura exploded to levels never before seen.

"Uncultured rodent. You wish to go big? Well then, allow me to broaden your horizons." Malachi’s indifferent voice was followed immediately by the exponential growth of his golden light as an avatar began forming from the blinding light.

First the head. Then the torso. Then the arms. Slowly, but surely, a figure finally took shape, and the moment I saw that figure, I couldn’t help being stunned as that avatar was—

"Me?" I couldn’t believe it. It was an avatar of my exact likeness as Malachi stood atop the crown on the avatar’s head, eyes indifferent.

I was shocked, but perhaps, most shocking of all would be the aura bleeding off the avatar.

It was an overbearing, insufferable, condescending, and utterly absurd amount of pride and ego!

So much so that I couldn’t even begin to measure how powerful of an aura that was.

I knew. I knew that my apostles, by their epithets, to some extent, were extensions of myself, so when I saw their epithets, at least the obvious ones, I could understand what they meant, but this...

"Am I... am I truly so prideful?" I had my pride. I was an arrogant and insufferable bastard. That much I knew. But this... to have my pride be displayed so blatantly before me, feeling the sheer magnitude of what reality interpreted my pride as, I couldn’t believe it, because from my own senses, that thing was—

"Immeasurable."

Pressing onto the very will of reality itself. It was something none should’ve been capable of standing upright before. The sheer grandeur of it was that overwhelming.

Yet, even then—

"MONKEYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!" Paku merely roared out in wrathful anger and rage as the kaiju just kept growing larger and larger still.

Malachi’s avatar had already become large enough to hold planets in the palm of its hands, yet Paku was now dwarfing that so much so that Malachi’s golden avatar had become nothing but an ant in comparison.

From my vantage point, I wasn’t even looking at Paku anymore as all I could see was the bleeding cloud of crimson rage pouring off the body of the massive beast.

"Am I... am I really such an angry person?" I couldn’t help asking out loud as I just couldn’t understand how one could have so much rage they were transcending what size was supposed to be.

I hadn’t asked hoping for a reply, but—

""""YES!""""

I got one nonetheless.

"Tch!"

Ignoring the aggravating reply, I pulled on my senses as I spread them out, unwilling to miss out on what was definitely to be a tremendous final clash.

"I suggest you act soon because their presence is already fracturing reality, and once that’s done, they will find themselves within the void, and you know what happens if they do, especially in that state," Shaia warned.

"Hmm... on it!" Denial churned within me as I denied the very concept of structural instability within the surrounding region, successfully preventing any untoward results as I focused completely on the final clash.

"MALACHI!!!! DIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" The horns on Paku’s head grew to impossible lengths as a malevolent amount of crimson energy began gathering at the point where they met. But the kaiju didn’t stop there, his maw opening wide as the same crimson energy began condensing within it.

WEEENNGGGGGG!!!!

Malachi, not one to be outdone, shone brilliantly as I felt a connection being tugged.

It was the monkey.

He... was tapping into my energy reserves, as he used...

"Chaos energy?" So even that was possible? ℯℯ𝑙.

The monkey’s aura deepened even further as his gold became a darker hue.

The avatar he had condensed finally opened its eyes as they glowed like twin suns in the midday, nothing but pure spite within them as they leveled Paku’s unseen large frame a disdainful gaze.

"Uncultured rodent! Today. YOU. FALL!!" The moment Malachi’s words left his lips, the avatar moved, a blinding flash of light as it launched itself straight into the path of the massive kaiju.

"DIEEEEEEEE!!!!" Following a thunderous roar, Paku released the beam from his horns and the one condensing within his maw as the entire region was bathed in a raging crimson, the attack manifesting right before Malachi’s avatar.

"DIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Malachi roared out as the avatar swung a staff identical to Malachi’s, a dark golden luster covering the disproportionately large weapon as it tore down on Paku’s beam attacks.

"PAKU!!!!!!!!"

"MALACHI!!!!!!!!!!"

The two called out in tandem as their attacks finally met, and then—

....

.....

NOTHING!

A/N: I tried to start writing this scene as soon as possible because I didn’t want the ideas to leave my head anytime soon, but unfortunately, I still seemed to have underperformed on another Chapter I wanted to be epic. Haa... anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed it, and as always,
