Chapter 481: Chapter 479:Making way..

"Haa... Dante, how long till we blow this circus up? I’m tired. I need something exciting to do." Malachi collapsed into his seat the moment we got to the Serendipity Inn, ordering a table of food as we all sat, trying to get what would be breakfast.

Like I said, we didn’t need it, but old habits die hard.

"Stop complaining. It’s not that bad." I waved away the monkey’s complaint as I took my seat, pulling Nyssara into my lap.

"Hey... hey.. we’re in public."

I aptly ignored her protests.

Elira and Terra had already made their way back into my soul space, so now it was just me and the blue-skinned beauty, and of course...

"WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!"

"That goddamn spaceship is back," I grumbled as I ducked a mini spaceship trying to take my head off, the excited little man not caring for anything or anyone as he indulged himself.

I was bound to pay a heft sum of compensation once he was done with the place..

"Haaa...."

"I agree with the monkey, Dante. This shit is ass," Paku grumbled.

"Hey! No cursing around the kid."

Done chastising the sailor-mouthed furball, I wrapped my arms around Nyssara’s lithe waist, pulling her closer as I rested my chin on her soft hair, while conveniently tuning out all her soft protests.

"You guys don’t know what you’re missing. I promise you. Just hold out a bit more. Once we get to this sect, I assure you, you’ll get enough excitement that you won’t know what to do with," I assured them.

"Your idea of excitement has been cringey name-callings, stupid unrealistic expectations, and delusional people that believe they own the world because of their last name," Leo decided to butt in as well.

"Haaa.... Don’t worry, I promise you guys, just a bit more and we’ll get things finally moving again," I replied. After all, they were right.

It was nice and all living the life of a cultivator and shit, but I had a ton of things to get done. My mom and dad were still waiting to be brought back. More of the cosmos was waiting to be explored. And I had a date with one of the pillars of said cosmos.

I really had no time to be wasting here playing house, but it couldn’t be helped.

"Good." Malachi.

"So long as you keep your word." Paku.

"Haaa.. maybe I can finally get to hit something." Salazar.

"Alright. Stop complaining, let’s get to planning. What are we going to do once we do arrive on the Martial Spirit World? What plan of attack do you guys think we should use?"

"Why are you asking the obvious?" Malachi’s weary face finally broke out into a crazed, battle-lusted grin as he continued, "There’s always been only one plan, and that’s... ATTACK!"

...

...

Three days later.

"YAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!" The wind roared past us as we finally made our way towards the spirit vessel the Spirit Ascension Sect had prepared for the qualified candidates.

Naturally, I had decided to arrive late, as who ever heard of a protagonist arriving right at the appointed time? What happened to the art of aura farming whilst everyone has already shown up?

I had intended to find some spirit beast, maybe a flying tiger or horse or some shit and experience the full cultivation experience. Unfortunately, after seeing multiple other candidates use flying cars and other more sophisticated vehicles, I had to change methods, because where was I going to find a flying tiger in a city that had decided to focus on technological travels?

I was sure I could find some if I looked hard enough, but I was too lazy to bother, so I had intended to just use spatial displacement and take us there after using my senses to observe the whole planet, but that thought was immediately tossed out the window the moment I saw someone pull out a flying sword.

Yes. A goddamn flying sword.

The moment I saw a flying sword, all thoughts of a normal travel were instantly tossed aside.

Who needed a flying tiger, a flying horse, or any of that shit when the most classic and flashy method of travel had just presented itself?

I had Elira transform herself into a golden flying sword as me, Lucien, and Nyssara got on.

The others had to make do with whatever they had, and what would you know, they all decided to pick out flying swords too.

"Heh! I thought you guys weren’t so fond of this place? Why are you using their ideas now?" I sneered, looking at the monkey currently posing like a classic young master. Hands behind his back and chin tilted upward.

"If I’m going to suffer, I might as well look good while suffering," was the bastard’s reply.

"I gotta say, a flying sword is probably the best idea these guys have come up with. If there isn’t anything else to take away from this situation, it would be that I had fun riding a sword." Salazar, also taking notes from the monkey, chipped in as well.

"You guys can fly perfectly by yourselves, yet you’re fascinated by flying swords? What are you? Children?" Leo mocked openly.

"Heh! I don’t expect you to understand, chicken-cat. You just wait there like a good boy and wait for that crazy woman to harvest you as her martial spirit."

"Damn you, monkey! What did you just say?" The chicken-cat snapped, yet before he could act,

WOOSH!!!

A gust of wind blew right past them as the world began falling apart wherever the crimson wave touched.

"Damn it!! Why does that guy still look that sick? I’m riding on a freaking sword, for fuck’s sake," Malachi grumbled as he stared daggers at the back of Shulvan.

The crimson-robed fellow had once again pulled out his entropy wave as he surged through the atmosphere, not bothering to look back, treating everyone else behind him as insignificant.

I gave the bastard a backward glance and couldn’t help becoming annoyed for some reason the moment I saw him.

"Damn that bastard!" He was showing off again.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I was hell-bent on enjoying this experience, I would’ve pulled mine out as well, because how dare that bastard show me up.

It was with disgruntled feelings and a jealous heart that we finally made our way outside the planet’s atmosphere as we approached the so-called spirit vessel parked outside the planet’s orbit.
