Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 482 - 480:'Kowtow three times.'
Chapter 482: Chapter 480:“Kowtow three times.”
"Okay, I’ll admit it. These guys know how to go big when they want to, damn!" Paku was the first to exclaim the moment we broke through the planet’s atmosphere, entering into orbit.
The first thing that came into view was a matte-black vessel that floated within the darkness of space like a silent sentinel.
"Is this the spirit vessel those guys were talking about? Damn. Tell me why I was expecting something way less cool than this?" Even Malachi was impressed as we continued our approach.
The spherical vessel was a piece of engineering beauty.
It was enormous, so massive that its silhouette alone seemed capable of swallowing an entire city, casting a vast shadow across the planet below. Its surface was forged from a matte-black material that somehow caught the distant starlight, reflecting countless tiny points of brilliance across its dark hull like a night sky given form.
Smooth curves flowed across its surface without a single unnecessary seam, broken only by enormous angular structures that jutted from its sides like the blades of some celestial beast.
There were no roaring engines. No clouds of exhaust. No visible mechanisms.
It simply floated there.
Silent.
Imposing.
Magnificent.
Even from this distance, it gave off the unmistakable feeling that this wasn’t a ship built to travel through space.
It was built to rule it.
As we approached, I could begin making out a few figures already ahead of us, making their way onto a lowered platform of the ship.
"Stop!!" The white-robed man at the forefront stopped us the moment we got close. "Your tokens," he demanded, almost as if he couldn’t recognize the top six candidates.
"Here." There was no need to cause a scene, so I just handed over the token, forcing Malachi and the others to do the same, whilst internally chastising both Paku and Shulvan, who were rearing to tear the white-robed man apart.
Apparently, Sulvan found it audacious that some plebeian dared halt his master,
whilst Paku found it audacious that some weak meat sauce dared to halt him.
"You’re almost late. Don’t think that your status as top six candidates means you can behave wantonly. Your status here will mean nothing when you finally make it to the sect, humph!" The man grumbled, somehow dissatisfied by our time of arrival. Unfortunately for him, though,
"Audacious mortal!" Shulvan had already acted before I could even react.
SHAAA!!!
Following a brilliant flash of crimson, the white-robed man was instantly deleted from existence, and not just deleted, but—
"Damn... so these guys are arrogant enough that they didn’t even put anyone here?" Malachi mused.
"They must believe nobody is dumb enough to think about trespassing on their property." Paku.
"Whatever. Let’s just get on board and get this over with." Leo sighed as he made his way onto the lowered platform, the others following right behind him.
Yes. Shulvan’s move had incorporated Oblivion as the white-robed man was effectively removed from the records of existence, reality adjusting itself to create a different storyline to accommodate for that missing piece.
My brow rose in curiosity as I witnessed that.
I had felt the subtle linking the moment he’d moved, but to think it was to use Oblivion itself, one of my Origins.
"I wonder if the others can do so too?" I had already experienced Malachi tapping into my chaos energy and using it to empower himself, so that made it obvious that these guys could, to some extent, tap into my own power if I should allow it. Now, all that remained was to know how deep that connection goes and how much of my powers they could actually use.
"Master... after you," Shulvan called out as he stood to the side, waiting for me to move.
I looked at the crimson-robed fellow, really looked, as my conversation with Shaia played back in my head.
This first apostle of mine, I was increasingly getting curious about just how far he could actually go.
"Alright... let’s go." Putting those thoughts aside, I stepped forward, joining the others on the platform as the thing hummed softly, and then, following a brilliant flash of light, we were teleported inside.
...
...
"These Lin family bastards and the Spirit Ascension Sect must be really rich, because what the hell is this shit?" Malachi grumbled.
"This is taking things a bit too far, no?" Even Salazar was taken aback by what we had arrived into.
Why were they reacting like so? Well, it was because the interior of the ship was as impressive as the exterior, maybe even more so.
The moment we arrived, we found ourselves standing within a colossal hall that seemed far too large to fit inside the vessel’s spherical frame.
Smooth black walls stretched into the distance, lined with glowing formations that pulsed with soft golden light. Massive pillars rose toward a ceiling so high it was almost impossible to see, each one carved with intricate runes and ancient patterns that looked more like the work of an immortal sect than a piece of technology.
Thousands of seats were arranged across the vast chamber in elegant tiers, each one surrounded by its own miniature formation. Floating platforms drifted overhead, connected by bridges of translucent light, while enormous crystalline screens displayed information in glowing characters.
Yet somehow, despite all the technology, it still looked unmistakably like something out of a cultivation world.
Golden dragons coiled around the pillars.
Phoenixes were carved into the walls.
Massive jade lanterns floated through the air without any visible support, bathing the hall in a warm radiance.
Even the floor beneath our feet was polished black stone, engraved with an enormous formation that stretched across the entire chamber.
Everything was immaculate.
Everything was extravagant.
And judging by the sheer size of the place, this vessel could easily house thousands of people without feeling remotely crowded.
I slowly looked around.
"There you have it, boys, cultivation world’s over-the-top, unnecessary grandeur at its finest. Be sure to drink it all in." I laughed, not one bit moved by what I was seeing.
It would’ve been weirder instead if the ship was any less superfluous.
Done lecturing the guys, I finally looked around closely, not just admiring the infrastructure, but actually taking in the conditions of the place.
Some of the seats within the hall were already filled with people.
"It seems Canglan wasn’t the first place these guys had visited during their recruitments."
The attires of those present were different, and not all of them were wearing your obvious robes and swords, clearly showing that other people from different backgrounds had taken part in these trials, too. But undoubtedly, most of them were native to the high planar galaxies.
They were all sitting down in meditation as the formations around the seats functioned as a sound nullifier to keep out the noise, but one thing it didn’t keep out were the auras of those within.
There was no one, absolutely none on this ship, that was below the law integration stage. And there were already thousands of such candidates.
Thousands of law integration stage and above powerhouses. That was a number most wouldn’t have even dared to think of on Terra, as even one law integration stage powerhouse was basically a walking catastrophe.
"I guess this must be the difference between high-leveled worlds and middling ones," I thought silently as I wondered what would happen if I integrated these entire galaxies into Terra.
How powerful would she become? How high would the power ceiling reach? And most curious of all, how much of a refinement would my existence level receive after doing so?
"Soon..." It wouldn’t be long now. I was already slowly getting tired of the cultivation silliness, and once this sect entrance fiasco has been completed and I’d gotten my fill, it was going to be back to business as usual.
"Hmmm... you must be the so-called top six candidates from this world. I wonder what you must have thought of yourselves to have us wait this long just because of you?"
A sudden, irritating voice snapped me out of my thoughts as I turned my attention to the side, watching a group of youths approach us.
"This..." It couldn’t be, right? There was no way I was actively walking into another setup right after claiming I was becoming bored, right?
"Tell me, who do you think you are to make I, Lin Yuan, wait for you?" The young man in the lead asked as they stopped right in front of us.
I wasn’t even given the chance to answer before the youth continued without missing a beat,
"Kowtow three times and call me ancestor, then maybe, just maybe, I can consider letting you leave here alive."
"Haaa.... Why do I even try?" Shaia sighed in exasperation, but I ignored her as an absolutely savage grin broke out on my face.
"Thank you, whoever you are writing this bullshit story." I never thought there’d be another moment where I’d actually be grateful to this bitch-ass author, but this time, he really threw me a bone, because—
"This is going to be fun..."
********
A/N: At least he acknowleged my efforts, but he could’ve done so with the name calling, haaa... Ungrateful bastard. Anyways,
