Chapter 250: Chapter 180: Jiang Silu Tells Sifan She’s Going to a Concert, Sifan Is Envious
Jiang Sifan explained awkwardly to Boss Qian, "I’m sorry, Boss Qian, but could I go check on my classmate?"
Boss Qian had heard, of course, and nodded. "No problem. You go ahead. We can talk later."
Jiang Sifan walked out of the shop and went to Wen Wan’s side.
Wen Wan was trembling all over, sobbing uncontrollably.
Seeing this, Jiang Sifan quickly hugged her and comforted her. "It’s okay, it’s okay."
Wen Wan cried into Jiang Sifan’s chest. "Why do they keep asking me for money? I’m just a freshman. Where am I supposed to get that much money?"
"It’s not your fault. You don’t have to blame yourself," Jiang Sifan encouraged her. "And I’m really impressed by your courage just now. You overcame your past tendency to give in."
Wen Wan looked up, her face flushed as she apologized. "I’m sorry, Class Rep, I interrupted your meeting. You should go back to Boss Qian. I’ll be fine on my own. I just want to be alone for a while."
Seeing her like this, he grew worried. "Are you sure you’ll be okay alone? How about I walk you back to your dorm? I can just tell Boss Qian we’ll talk tomorrow. It won’t be a problem."
"It’s fine, I’m okay. I can’t interfere with the studio’s business. You worked so hard to land a potential client. I can get back on my own." Wen Wan tried to sound casual, forcing a smile.
But the more she acted this way, the more his heart ached for her.
Wen Wan waved goodbye and left the shopping street alone.
Jiang Sifan had wanted to walk her back to campus, but he figured, ’She probably needs some time alone.’
In the end, he went back to the restaurant.
’Since I can’t help much with Wen Wan’s situation, I’ll just have to sign more contracts and try to make her life a little better.’
Back in the restaurant, Jiang Sifan apologized. "Sorry about that, Boss Qian. I’m back."
"Is your classmate alright? You should go look after her. We can always talk tomorrow," Boss Qian said considerately.
Jiang Sifan replied, "She’s fine. She told me to come back and continue our discussion. After all, she could tell you were quite interested in our services, Boss Qian."
Boss Qian looked a bit awkward. "Well, to be honest, I think your service is great, and you’re clearly very capable. But the price... there are definitely cheaper options out there. I can’t just ignore a cheaper offer, right? Their quote is forty percent lower than your bundle price. It’s a very tempting offer."
"I understand your concerns, of course," Jiang Sifan said with a nod. "But Boss Qian, have you considered the truth behind a price like that?"
"What truth?"
Jiang Sifan then proceeded to list the advantages of Starry Studio.
For example, all of their studio’s members were finance majors, highly skilled with data analysis and software.
Jiang Sifan went on to explain, "At that price, they must be operating at a loss. How long do you think they can keep that up? What if they can’t sustain it and just disappear? What will happen to your accounts then?"
"How... how could they just run off?" Boss Qian replied. "He’s a student at Jinling Institute of Technology, too. If he disappears, I’ll just go to the school and find him."
"But even so, wouldn’t that just be a waste of your time? The whole reason you’re looking for an accounting service is for the convenience, isn’t it?"
Jiang Sifan drove home the core issue. "Boss Qian, you’re a businessman yourself. If another restaurant offered a meal for, say, a dollar, wouldn’t your first thought be to question its quality, or suspect some kind of ulterior motive?"
After hearing this, Boss Qian began to hesitate.
In fact, what Jiang Sifan said was completely right.
’A price that low was bound to come with its own major problems.’
’Everyone’s in business to make money.’
’If someone came in disrupting the market with a price that was way too low, they had to have an ulterior motive.’
After weighing his options, Boss Qian finally said, "Alright then. I’ll take the bundled service package with my two friends. It’s still at the price we discussed?"
"Of course." Jiang Sifan nodded. "Our prices are all market-tested and stable. You can rest assured of that."
"Great. In that case, I’ll be leaving my shop’s accounting to you."
After talking for another half hour, Boss Qian and Jiang Sifan finally sealed the deal.
As soon as their business was concluded, Jiang Sifan immediately called Wen Wan.
Wen Wan was still on her way back to campus. She answered Jiang Sifan’s call, taking a moment to compose herself before speaking softly, "Class Rep."
"Are you back at your dorm yet?" Jiang Sifan asked as he rode his electric scooter, scanning the area for any sign of Wen Wan.
"I’m not back on campus yet," Wen Wan explained.
"I see you."
As he spoke, he called out, "Wen Wan, I’m behind you!"
Wen Wan turned around to see Jiang Sifan pulling up in front of her on his electric scooter.
"Quick, hop on," Jiang Sifan gestured.
Wen Wan got on the scooter and immediately started apologizing. "I’m sorry, Class Rep. I wasn’t any help at all, I just made you worry."
"What are you talking about?" Jiang Sifan feigned annoyance. "We’re partners, and we’re good friends. Didn’t you comfort me when I was heartbroken? When I was getting over my breakup, I bawled my eyes out in your arms, remember?"
Hearing him say this, Wen Wan couldn’t help but blush.
’I thought he was so drunk that day, he wouldn’t remember any of this.’
’I can’t believe he actually remembers.’
Jiang Sifan then asked, "By the way, about that situation with your family..."
For the first time, Wen Wan replied with uncharacteristic bravery. "I don’t think they love me, so I don’t want to give so much anymore. But... I’m also afraid they’ll call me an unfilial daughter."
