Chapter 251: Chapter 180: Jiang Silu Tells Sifan About the Concert, Sifan is Envious
"There are conditions to being a filial child. The way parents treat their kids is how their kids will treat them," Jiang Sifan said, trying to comfort her. "Your mother obviously found out you’re making money from your campus business and wants to squeeze you dry. Of course, it’s probably not right for me to say bad things about your mom."
"It’s okay, I think so too," Wen Wan said sadly.
"Instead of that, you’re better off just saving the money. You’re eighteen now, anyway. You can pay your own tuition and living expenses going forward. After you graduate, you can visit home if you feel homesick. If not, you can focus on making it in a big city," Jiang Sifan comforted her. "Who knows, our studio might just get bigger and bigger. You could even settle down in Jinling then."
Wen Wan thought for a moment, then asked in a small voice, "What about... you? Will you stay in Jinling after graduation?"
"I probably won’t. I’ll likely go back to Yangcheng. My mom is there, after all," Jiang Sifan replied.
Hearing this, Wen Wan was clearly even more crestfallen.
Suddenly, Jiang Sifan asked, "By the way, have you ever been to Yangcheng? If not, we could go there together when we graduate. I’d miss you, after all."
’Yep, that’s just how women are.’
One sentence could make them sad, and another could make them happy again.
Wen Wan, who had been heartbroken just a moment ago, blushed happily when she heard Jiang Sifan say he would miss her.
She then whispered, "I’ve never been to Yangcheng. I hear it’s a big city. Are there lots of landlords? And landladies?"
As she said this, she couldn’t help but laugh.
Jiang Sifan nodded. "You’re absolutely right. Yangcheng has a lot of landlords and landladies. They go for morning tea every day, play mahjong in the afternoon, and just collect rent from one tenant each day. They live such a free and easy life."
"I really envy them," Wen Wan sighed.
"I’m sure we can live like that someday," Jiang Sifan said, painting a rosy picture. "Our studio is getting more and more impressive. Oh, and by the way, Boss Qian agreed to sign with us!"
"That’s great," Wen Wan nodded.
Jiang Sifan immediately grew excited. "There’s still over a month until winter break. I hope we can sign a few more deals. Then I can save up some money to take home and buy my mom a big gold bracelet."
He suddenly thought of something and asked cautiously, "Wen Wan, what about you? Are you going home for winter break?"
Wen Wan shook her head. "I don’t know... Mom sent me several messages right after we hung up, but I’m too scared to read them. I’m afraid they’re all just filled with her scolding me."
"Well... why don’t you come to Yangcheng for winter break!" Jiang Sifan said. "You can stay in my room, and during the day, you can work at my mom’s flower shop. I’ll have my mom pay you for the part-time work."
"Then where will you sleep?" Wen Wan asked, worried.
"Don’t worry, our living room is really spacious. I can just make a bed on the floor," Jiang Sifan said cheerfully. "I’m a guy, it doesn’t matter where I sleep."
Wen Wan shook her head firmly. "No way. It’s your home, how could I make you sleep on the floor? I can just rent a place in Yangcheng for a month."
Jiang Sifan wanted to tell Wen Wan that it’s hardest to rent a place during winter break, especially around the New Year.
Let alone a one-month short-term rental; they were either ridiculously expensive or in some remote area.
But since winter break was still over a month away, there was no point in telling her all this now.
’It’d be better to just bring her down to Yangcheng with me and figure it out then.’
Jiang Sifan said excitedly, "Oh, and when we’re there, I’ll take you to Changlong Wild Animal World to see lots of animals, and to Changlong Amusement Park too."
"Okay."
This time, Wen Wan didn’t refuse.
Meanwhile, Xu Junjie was getting ready to go find Boss Qian and sign the contract.
But Boss Qian told him he had already signed with them.
Xu Junjie was so furious he could feel it in his gut.
Over the past few days, in his efforts to poach Jiang Sifan’s clients, he had been bolting out of class halfway through every single day.
At first, he was paying his buddies to help him find clients, but after Mr. Xu cut his allowance in half, Xu Junjie suddenly found himself strapped for cash.
On top of that, none of the other students knew how to use the paid software for bookkeeping.
So it was Xu Junjie who had to grind day and night to get it all done.
Now, he was too busy to handle everything alone, but hiring help cost money, which meant he would end up losing even more.
But the thought that this was the only way to get revenge on Jiang Sifan made him grit his teeth and persevere.
To that end, he even told Mrs. Xu about what he was doing.
Of course, he only told Mrs. Xu that he was starting his own business.
When Mrs. Xu heard how dedicated her son was, she generously gave him five thousand yuan to support his venture.
Although the five thousand yuan could solve his immediate crisis, he knew that a prolonged battle with Jiang Sifan would only lead to greater losses.
"Damn it, I’ll see this through to the end. I refuse to believe you’re that damn good!" Xu Junjie seethed.
「At the same time.」
After Jiang Silu learned about Wen Wan’s situation from Jiang Sifan, she immediately said, full of sympathy, "I can’t believe Sister Wen Wan’s family favors boys over girls so much."
"Yeah, it’s probably one of those old-fashioned rural ideas," Jiang Sifan nodded. "That’s why I was thinking, if she doesn’t want to go home for the New Year, she could come back to Yangcheng with us. What do you think?"
"Of course! I’d love to hang out with Sister Wen Wan. I really like her personality," Jiang Silu readily agreed.
"I was thinking of letting her stay in my room, but she probably won’t agree. How about this: she can stay in your room, and you can stay in mine. After all, it might be a little awkward for a girl to stay in a guy’s room," Jiang Sifan replied.
Jiang Silu teased, "There’s still over a month. Don’t you think you two might become a couple by then? Then you could just share a room."
"Don’t say things like that," Jiang Sifan said, exasperated.
Jiang Silu asked curiously, "By the way, I think you two are a good match. Don’t you have any feelings for Wen Wan at all?"
"It wouldn’t be true to say I feel nothing. She was the one comforting me when I was at my lowest point. But I don’t know the extent of my feelings for her. I don’t want to confess rashly, and I don’t want to fall for someone so easily," Jiang Sifan replied.
Hearing this, Jiang Silu sighed in exasperation. "Ah, you. You were just hurt too deeply by that awful girl, and now you’re all hesitant and indecisive. Listen to some advice from your big sis Silu: hesitation is defeat."
"Who are you calling ’big sis’?" Jiang Sifan shot back. "Show some respect for your elders."
He then asked, "And what about you? Is there any guy you like at school? If so, make sure to tell me. I’ll need to check him out first."
"Don’t worry, I don’t want to be in a relationship right now. I’m not like you, falling in love with someone just because they brought you breakfast once," Jiang Silu continued to tease him mercilessly.
Jiang Sifan cut her off, "Hey, hey, that’s enough out of you. Stop picking at old wounds. What happened with Huang Hui is in the past. Don’t bring her up again."
"Haha, I don’t know who my future sister-in-law will be, but if you ever piss me off, I’m telling her everything," Jiang Silu teased.
"You’ve had your fun," Jiang Sifan said, exasperated. "All right, I can’t be bothered with you anymore. I’m hanging up."
"Oh, right, in a couple of days I’m going to the Northeast with Dad. He’s taking me to see a Sun Yanzi concert," Jiang Silu figured she should tell her brother about this.
After hearing this, Jiang Sifan just said, "Oh," and added, "Well, be safe."
"Don’t worry, I will. Dad will take care of me," Jiang Silu said with a giggle.
After hanging up, Jiang Sifan felt a little envious of his sister.
Forget about staying in a presidential suite or watching the sunrise; he had never even had a five-star meal.
And now, Lu Fan was taking her to a Sun Yanzi concert.
’Forget it. I still can’t bring myself to take the initiative and patch things up with him right now.’
’Anyway, presidential suites, five-star dinners, concerts—I’ll definitely be able to achieve all that on my own strength in the future.’
Jiang Sifan still believed in his own abilities. He was certain he could build a fortune from scratch and was convinced that his future wealth would one day surpass that of his father, Lu Fan!
