Chapter 468: Chapter 255: A Family of Four, Reunited
Lost in her thoughts, she fell asleep before she knew it.
The next morning, Jiang Sifan woke up before the sky had fully brightened.
He took a shower, shaved, and changed into a clean set of clothes.
He looked at himself in the mirror. His hair was a little long, but it was acceptable.
He carried his suitcase to the door, double-checked his ID and ticket, and then headed out.
Downstairs, Chen He’s car was already waiting.
"Sifan, get in. We’re going to pick up Wen Wan," Chen He said with a smile.
The car pulled up to another dormitory, where Wen Wan was already standing by the entrance, waiting.
She was wearing a cream-colored coat and a light gray scarf. Her hair was down, and she had on a touch of light makeup. Standing in the morning light, she looked like a freshly blossomed flower.
Jiang Sifan got out of the car to help her with her suitcase. As they drew closer, he glanced at her and said with a smile, "You look really beautiful today."
Wen Wan blushed, lowered her head, and murmured, "Don’t be silly."
Jiang Sifan laughed, put the suitcase in the trunk, and helped her into the car.
The car drove to the girls’ dormitory. Jiang Silu was already waiting there, surrounded by two large suitcases, a backpack, and a tote bag.
Seeing the car approach, she yelled up toward the building, "Miaomiao! Come down and help me move this!"
Song Miaomiao ran out of the building and helped her stuff the suitcases into the trunk.
"Silu, text me when you get there!" Song Miaomiao waved to her.
"Got it! You have a fun winter break too!" Jiang Silu got in the car and closed the door.
When she saw Wen Wan, she called out with a smile, "Sister Wen Wan!"
Wen Wan smiled, her face flushing slightly.
「Soon, the car was on its way to the airport.」
Jiang Silu leaned against the car window, watching the streetscape recede outside.
"Sister Wen Wan, have you ever been to Yangcheng?" she asked, turning her head.
"No, this is my first time," Wen Wan said, shaking her head.
"That’s great! I’ll take you to eat all the good food! Yangcheng has so much delicious food: morning tea, roast goose, claypot rice, rice noodle rolls, wonton noodles..." Jiang Silu said, counting on her fingers.
Watching her excited expression, Wen Wan couldn’t help but laugh. "Okay, I’ll follow your lead."
Jiang Sifan sat in the front, a smile playing on his lips as he listened to the two girls chat.
After about a forty-minute drive, the car stopped in front of a standalone building.
It wasn’t the regular airport terminal but a separate VIP lounge.
Two uniformed staff members stood at the entrance. The moment the car stopped, they immediately came over to open the doors and help with the luggage.
Jiang Silu got out of the car, looked around in confusion, and asked, "Where are we?"
"The VIP lounge," Chen He said with a smile. "President Lu’s private jet is parked on the tarmac inside."
At these words, the three young people were too stunned to speak.
The three of them followed the staff into the lounge.
The interior was lavishly decorated. Dark carpets covered the floor, several abstract paintings hung on the walls, the sofas were genuine leather, and the coffee table was set with fruit and drinks.
Jiang Silu couldn’t sit still. She stood up and walked around, then sat down, then stood up again.
"Brother, are you nervous?" she asked in a low voice.
"Not nervous," Jiang Sifan said, shaking his head.
"Then why are your hands shaking?"
Jiang Sifan looked down at his hands, shoved them into his pockets, and shot her a glare.
Jiang Silu started laughing.
Wen Wan sat on the sofa, her fingers tracing the armrest. The leather was soft and cool to the touch.
She looked around the luxurious waiting room, feeling a bit dazed.
’Just a month ago, I was worried about not being able to afford tuition. Now I’m sitting in the lounge for a private jet, on my way to my boyfriend’s home for the New Year.’
She pinched the back of her hand. It hurt.
’It’s real.’
A few minutes later, a staff member came in and said with a smile, "Please follow me. President Lu is already waiting for you on the tarmac."
The three of them followed the staff member down a corridor to a glass door.
The staff member pushed the door open, revealing the tarmac outside.
A white, streamlined plane was parked on the tarmac, its body not particularly large, gleaming in the sunlight.
The airstairs were already down. Lu Fan stood at the bottom, dressed in a dark gray overcoat with his hands in his pockets, watching them with a smile on his face.
Jiang Silu’s mouth formed an "O." She stood stunned for a few seconds before running over with a laugh. "Dad! Is this really your plane?"
Lu Fan chuckled. "It’s the company’s, not mine."
"Isn’t the company’s yours?" Jiang Silu said as she ran up the airstairs. Standing at the cabin door and peering inside, she exclaimed, "Whoa!! It’s huge!"
Jiang Sifan walked up and stood before Lu Fan, looking at him awkwardly without saying a word of greeting.
Lu Fan nodded, looked at him, then at Wen Wan, and said with a smile, "Go on up."
Wen Wan kept her head down and quietly murmured, "Uncle Lu," before following Jiang Sifan up the stairs.
The inside of the cabin was even more spacious than it looked from the outside.
There were cream-colored leather seats, dark wood-grain accents, and a carpeted floor that felt soft underfoot.
There were twelve seats in total, divided into two sections. In the front was a rectangular table, and in the back were several sofa seats facing each other.
Jiang Silu had already taken a window seat and fastened her seatbelt. She was looking all around, like a child on their first trip.
"Silu, keep your seatbelt on and don’t fidget," Lu Fan said with a laugh, sitting down across from her.
Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan sat down on the other side.
Wen Wan took the window seat. Her fingers traced the armrest, feeling the fine texture of the leather.
"Uncle Lu, how many people can this plane hold?" Wen Wan asked in a low voice.
"This model can hold a maximum of twelve. Usually, there are only two or three of us," Lu Fan explained.
