Chapter 480: A Top-Tier Yangcheng Villa for Yixia
Chapter 480 -258: A Top-Tier Yangcheng Villa for Yixia
“Can you two handle it?” Jiang Yixia asked.
“Of course we can. I’ve already helped you watch the store for several days,” Jiang Silu said, patting her chest confidently. “Don’t you worry. If customers come, I’ll greet them. If there are flowers to wrap, I’ll wrap them. If the phone rings, I’ll answer it.”
Jiang Yixia sighed, put down her pen, stood up, took off her apron, and hung it on a hook behind the counter.
She glanced at Lu Fan and said with resignation, “Let’s go. We’ll come right back after we’re done looking.”
Lu Fan smiled, nodded, pushed the door open, and turned sideways to let Jiang Yixia exit first.
As Jiang Yixia walked out, she passed by him, and their shoulders brushed against each other.
Jiang Yixia didn’t pull away, and Lu Fan’s smile deepened slightly.
Jiang Silu stood at the entrance of the flower shop, watching their retreating figures with a smile.
She turned to look at Wen Wan, who was also smiling.
“Sister Wen Wan, when do you think they’ll get back together?” Jiang Silu asked.
Wen Wan thought for a moment, then shook her head. “I don’t know, but I have a feeling it’ll be soon.”
Jiang Silu smiled and linked arms with Wen Wan as they went back into the flower shop.
Lu Fan’s car was parked at the entrance to the flower shop. Chen He, sitting in the driver’s seat, smiled when he saw Jiang Yixia emerge. “Sister Jiang,” he called out as he got out and opened the rear passenger door.
Jiang Yixia got into the car, and Lu Fan got in from the other side, sitting down next to her.
The car headed in the direction of Pearl River New City.
The streetscape of Yangcheng flew past the window—qilou buildings, banyan trees, billboards, pedestrians—a vibrant and colorful blur.
“So where is this apartment?” Jiang Yixia asked.
“Pearl River New City, in the row of buildings facing the river,” Lu Fan replied.
Jiang Yixia glanced at him but didn’t say anything.
That row of buildings in Pearl River New City facing the river was the most expensive area in all of Yangcheng. The property prices were so absurdly high that ordinary people wouldn’t even dare to dream of living there.
After about a twenty-minute drive, the car turned into a high-end residential complex.
There was a guardhouse at the entrance. A uniformed security guard saw their license plate, gave a salute, and raised the barrier arm to let them pass.
Inside, the complex was quiet. The landscaping was exquisite, with layer upon layer of palm trees, banyan trees, and plumerias, making it feel like a small botanical garden.
In the center was a fountain, its water gushing and sparkling in the sunlight.
The car stopped in front of a building.
The building wasn’t particularly tall—only twelve stories. Its facade was made of light gray stone, complemented by large floor-to-ceiling glass windows, giving it a simple yet elegant appearance.
A woman in a professional skirt suit stood at the entrance. She looked to be in her thirties, her hair was tied up impeccably, and she wore a professional smile.
Lu Fan got out of the car, and Jiang Yixia followed.
The saleswoman approached them and said with a smile, “President Lu, you’re here. The apartment is ready. Allow me to take you and your wife upstairs to have a look.”
When Jiang Yixia heard the words “your wife,” she froze for a second, and her face instantly turned red.
She opened her mouth, wanting to say, “I’m not his wife,” but she swallowed the words back down, thinking that saying it would only make things more awkward.
Lu Fan glanced at her and said with a smile, “Let’s go up and take a look.”
The three of them entered the elevator, and the saleswoman pressed the button for the top floor.
As the elevator ascended, the saleswoman turned slightly and introduced with a smile, “This unit is on the top floor. It has a total area of 320 square meters, with a 60-square-meter terrace that directly faces the Zhujiang River. The view is exceptional. The interior is fully furnished with top international brands, so it’s move-in ready.”
Listening to these numbers, Jiang Yixia did some quick math in her head.
‘Three hundred and twenty square meters… at Pearl River New City prices, this apartment has to be worth at least tens of millions.’
She turned to glance at Lu Fan. He was looking at their reflection in the elevator doors, a smile playing on his lips.
The elevator arrived, and the doors opened.
The saleswoman led the way, pushed open a heavy wooden door, and gestured for them to enter.
Jiang Yixia walked inside and stopped in the entryway, stunned.
The living room was huge. Ridiculously huge.
The floor-to-ceiling glass windows stretched from the ceiling all the way to the floor, making the entire wall transparent. The Zhujiang River was right below their feet.
Sunlight streamed in from outside, spilling onto the light gray floor and making the whole living room brilliantly bright.
“Ma’am, this is the living room, approximately eighty square meters.” The saleswoman followed beside them, explaining with a smile, “The sofa is imported from Italy, the coffee table is custom-made from solid wood, and the curtains are electronically controlled. Look, you can open and close them with the press of this switch.”
Jiang Yixia wasn’t listening. She walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and gazed out at the Zhujiang River.
A few boats were on the river’s surface, sailing by slowly.
In the distance, the Guangzhou Tower stood tall by the riverbank.
“Is it beautiful?” Lu Fan asked, coming to stand beside her.
Jiang Yixia didn’t answer, asking instead, “Why would you buy such a huge apartment?”
“To live in, of course,” Lu Fan said with a smile.
“You’re going to live in over three hundred square meters by yourself?” Jiang Yixia turned to look at him, her brow furrowed.
Lu Fan just smiled and didn’t answer.
The saleswoman beside them continued, “Over here is the dining room, which can seat twelve people. The kitchen is an open-plan design, and the appliances are all imported from Germany. This is the study; it’s south-facing, so it gets excellent natural light. The master bedroom is this way, let me show you.”
Jiang Yixia followed her to the master bedroom.
The master bedroom was even larger. A two-meter-wide bed was placed in the center, with a dark gray upholstered headboard. There was a nightstand on each side, each with a lamp that cast a warm yellow glow.
The walk-in closet was on the right, larger even than Jiang Yixia’s flower shop. It was completely empty, just waiting to be filled.
The master bathroom was inside the walk-in closet. The bathtub was freestanding, placed by the window, offering a view of the Zhujiang River while bathing.
“Ma’am, if you’ll look at this bathtub, it’s imported and has a thermostat-controlled massage function,” the saleswoman said with a smile.
Jiang Yixia’s face turned red again.
‘I’m not his wife. I don’t want to hear about this.’
She turned, walked out of the master bedroom, and went back to the living room.
