Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

Chapter 175: THE ATTACK

  • Next Chapter

Seara had proposed meeting them head-on; if the devil were indeed the mastermind behind this, he would either come to this location himself or, at the very least, send a high-ranking individual to lead the attack.

The devil would know that Jeremy used to be with Zade. He wouldn’t pass up the chance to get Zade within his grasp.

And they planned to get the devil, or the human higher-up, to force a negotiation with their monarch about the existence of the shifters.

Up until now, Zade and the other Lycans still pursued a negotiation, instead of force, because that was what the devil wanted.

Even though Seara came up with the idea, it was Jeremy who provided the detailed explanation. Now, they were proceeding with that plan, and Zade was adding specific details.

It was easy to say that they wanted to capture the leader of the human army, but in reality, it still needed a meticulous plan.

"Stay with them; don’t get separated. I will be back soon." Zade kissed Seara on her forehead before he got out of the boat.

There was a boat that had been prepared there, so if things went wrong, they would have a way to escape immediately.

Leia and Jeremy were there too, along with the four warriors that Zade had assigned to protect his mate.

Zephyr couldn’t go with them because Zade needed him to face the humans. Even though they were familiar with the area around the beach house, the number of humans who came was double what they expected.

They had contacted the packs nearby to stand by. They would move based on Zade’s order.

"I will be fine. Don’t worry." Seara took Little Paw from Zade, as he picked the wolf up to get on the boat with the others.

"Take care of them," Zade said to Jayden before he shifted into his beast and then joined the other alphas, who had been waiting for him.

Seara watched until Zade’s figure disappeared completely into the night. She hugged the wolf tightly and sat down on the floor. There was no light in the boat, because they used the shadow of the night as their cover.

"Zade will be fine." Leia sat down next to her too. She put the blanket on her lap and made sure she was not cold because the night wind from the sea was rather harsh.

"He will be fine." Seara hugged Little Paw a little bit tighter, burying her face in his fur. "Caspian will be fine too," she added.

Jeremy was here, which put Leia at ease, but her mate was out there; he was fighting alongside Zade and the other shifters.

Of course, Leia was worried about her mate.

"Of course. He will be fine. He is a great warrior." Leia smiled brightly when she talked about her mate; she looked so proud.

Seara was fascinated with the way Leia had so much faith in Caspian, but there was one thing that she noticed too.

Leia grew old. With all the stress and what was going on right now, it was probably burdening her mind and body.

It wouldn’t be too visible when she put her makeup on, but now her bare face looked so tired.

When Seara remembered Caspian, and then she saw Leia at this moment, both of them looked like an aunt and her nephew. Caspian had lived so long, longer than Zade, but he still looked so young; he could pass as Ace’s older brother.

That was why Leia’s aging became a contrast.

Seara gulped, realizing that the same situation would eventually apply to her and Zade. She was not a Lycan; she wouldn’t have a long lifespan, and there would be a time when she would turn into a granny, while Zade would stay like the first day she met him.

Seara shook her head; she was thinking too much. It was not the right time to think about such a trivial thing. They were on the verge of a battle with the humans, and they could die at any moment; yet she was thinking about her appearance? How stupid she was.

She pushed her worries to the back of her mind.

"I want to be out there," Jeremy said. He was a little bit sullen because he had to be left behind.

"Say that again, and I will throw you to the sea," Leia said sternly. She seemed to lose her patience with her son.

"Mom, I thought you loved me."

"I would prefer you to be eaten by the fish than to be out there and captured by the humans. I will break your bones to make the fish easier to eat you. So, sit down, young man."

Jeremy sat down without protest.

The battle lasted for a whole night; three people died because it was harder to keep them alive in the heart of a battle than to kill them right away.

But countless people were crippled and heavily injured.

In the end, Zade had to ask for more backup from the packs nearby because the number of people who were sent there was too many.

But they managed to capture Admiral Jack Blackwood, the leader of this attack.

"Broadcast the injured people and the fallen army’s family. Let the public know the brutality of the animagus and why they have to be wary of them," Owen ordered.

"But Sir, it will cause chaos in public."

The tension was very high, and if they broadcast that, it would cause a massive panic among the people.

Owen tilted his head when he heard what his soldier said. "We owe them the truth. Do you want to say that is a fabricated story? That’s the truth, and the public deserves to know how dangerous those monsters are if we let them live."

"Yes, Sir." The soldier nodded and carried out the order.

It didn’t take long before the public reacted strongly once the footage was released.
