Chapter 207: IT IS RICH COMING FROM YOU

  • Next Chapter

The next day, when there would be a morning meeting again, Kayden was surprised to see that Seara would attend.

"Are you sure you are going?" Kayden widened his eyes in surprise. "But... you know that they will not change their mind overnight about you being there, right?"

Seara grinned from ear to ear. She was in a good mood because last night Zade told her that he was going to go back since he had Altair and Rio.

Oh, how much she wanted to tell him to abandon the two of them and return quickly, but it would make her seem unsensible.

She couldn’t help but get worried before Zade was right by her side and she could feel him. Zade said it would only be a week before they met again, and Seara couldn’t wait for the week to end.

"Yes." Seara flashed him a smile.

When she felt like this, she didn’t think any of their harsh comments would make her feel down.

Zade would come. Zade would come. Zade would come!

Seara chanted in her head, making a song out of it. It was childish, though, but she couldn’t help it.

On the other hand, Kayden frowned. He couldn’t understand why she had been in a better mood than yesterday. "Did you plan to do something?"

"No." Seara shook her head. "I am planning to walk around this pack, though. We need to ensure that this area is also clear of the devils."

Currently, they were in Alpha Rune’s pack, the Thousand Leaves Pack. There were at least twenty-one packs under Alpha Asher. And most of them were present, except for five packs that were currently engaged in active battles against the Quantum Protocol.

This time, Kayden narrowed his eyes. "I feel that you can do something that we are not allowed to know. Is that true?"

He had been feeling this way ever since they were trapped in that shop after the car crash. He might be wrong, but it seemed as if Seara could sense when someone was being compromised. He had wanted to ask her about it, but since Seara had been dodging answering it, he didn’t ask further.

"I am not allowed to talk about it." Seara glanced at him. "There is a reason why this is a secret." She didn’t confirm that, but Kayden could tell he was right. All the signs were there.

"Let’s go."

Seara came early; there were only three alphas who were there, and they immediately gave her a stinging look when they saw her enter the room and sit next to King Asher’s chair, which indicated she was his equal.

In terms of hierarchy, Seara outranked all the alphas here, because she was Zade’s mate. Zade told her that, and it made her feel better.

Those who said that power could change people were right. It did change Seara’s perspective on seeing herself.

"What are you doing here?" Alpha Gideon asked when he entered the room, followed by the other two alphas. "I don’t think you should be here."

"There is no word from King Asher about me not being allowed to attend the meeting. Unless he says so, your opinion doesn’t matter."

Kayden’s jaw dropped when he heard Seara say that. He glanced back and forth between the angry Alpha Gideon and Seara, who lowered her head and pretended to be busy with the linen on her sleeve.

Some people might see it as if she didn’t care and was being aloof, but after some time being with her, Kayden knew she was nervous.

"It’s a big word for you, Seara." Rexton suddenly spoke; he had been pretending she didn’t exist from the first meeting, but now, when Asher was not here and there were only the alphas, he finally spoke. "You shouldn’t be disrespectful; it is embarrassing to know you come from our pack."

Seara tensed up when she heard his voice, but she gathered herself quickly and lifted her head to meet Rexton’s eyes. "It is rich coming from you, Rexton." Seara tilted her head. "Did you even know what the meaning of ’disrespectful’ was until three years ago? Or before you sit in the seat of alpha?"

Seara remembered clearly how Rexton used to treat her, and she would always hold a grudge against him.

Meanwhile, Silas tried to mindlink Rexton to tone it down, telling him that it was not proper for him to confront Seara; after all, she was in a higher rank than them.

Silas could also see the hatred in her eyes. They were the same eyes he saw when they were young, before his father straightened her up.

Seara was always holding a grudge and had a strong temper. Those around them might not have realized it, but he had been keeping his eyes on her ever since she came to their house—a baby that the family didn’t want...

"That’s enough; the king will be here," Silas said to de-escalate the situation.

"Don’t you dare tell me what to do, Silas," Rexton growled; he was still angry because his twin was being captured by Zade. His silence all this time didn’t mean he had let it go.

Silas said nothing, and two minutes later Asher came with Blake. He was surprised when he saw Seara there but even more shocked when she stood up and walked out of the room.

"Where are you going?" Asher couldn’t help but ask, because he wondered why she left when he came.

"My absence helps more with the meeting; then I will leave." Seara then directed her eyes at Alpha Rune. She knew she was being petty right now when she spoke directly to him. "How was it? Has the meeting yesterday drawn a better solution?"

The question was very clear; Seara was mocking him, and what was even more upsetting was that she had left before Alpha Rune could find his voice and talk back to her.

Kayden followed suit behind her.
