Chapter 208: SEARA’S BOLDNESS

  • Next Chapter

"Are you okay?" Kayden chuckled when he watched Seara crouching down in the quiet corridor, rocking herself back and forth while pressing her palms against her ears in order to calm herself down. "I know you will be like this in the end."

Seara didn’t listen to what Kayden was saying. Her whole body was trembling after her boldness in the meeting room.

"I feel like I want to vomit," Seara said with a groan as she put down her hands, but she leaned against the wall behind her, sitting on the cold floor. Her legs were still weak; she needed some time to gather herself up.

"If you want to vomit, it will be better to do it in the toilet," Kayden responded. He sat down next to her.

"Thank you for the suggestion." Seara would like to roll her eyes at his ’helpful’ comment, but she didn’t have the energy to do so. "Don’t you think I have gone too far?"

"In my opinion, no." Kayden stretched out his long legs. He had been the only person that Seara had been relying on all these days. "Instead, you should go further than that. I really hate it when they are talking shit about you."

After that, Kayden rumbled about how he was upset with a certain alpha for demeaning King Zade’s authority and how they saw Seara. They even brought up the fact that she didn’t have her wolf spirit, and it was not her fault.

For some reason, hearing that Kayden was angry for her made her own anger subside drastically. Kayden was angry on her behalf, and it was very therapeutic. Not many people had ever been angry for her sake whenever she was treated unfairly.

"Don’t smile like that; you look creepy." Kayden furrowed his brows when he found Seara had stopped breathing raggedly and was smiling at him instead.

"I shouldn’t have made you mingle with Blake; I think his trait rubs off on you a little."

Hearing that, Kayden shuddered, but then his eyes were not focused, which indicated that he was in the middle of mindlink with the other shifter.

His expression changed drastically, and he straightened his back upon receiving the news.

Ugh, Seara wished to have her mindlink back. She waited impatiently for Kayden to finish and tell her what was going on because whatever news he had received seemed very important.

And it was.

"Come on, we need to go now." Kayden suddenly stood up and stretched out his hand to help Seara stand up.

"What happened?" Seara was startled when Kayden suddenly sprang to his feet. Even so, she still took his hand.

"Jeremy and the others are here! They are fine!" Kayden was breathless when he relayed the news, and Seara was frozen for a second before she ran.

"Where are they?!" Seara wanted to see them as quickly as possible; her heart felt as if it was going to burst.

They didn’t talk about Jeremy and the others much because it gave them anxiety. Moreover, it didn’t help with anything since there was no important news that came from Jared.

"You ran the wrong way," Kayden said. He grabbed Seara’s hand and took her to run in the opposite direction. "Their car just entered the pack house; we can see them in the front yard."

Seara and Kayden raced in the corridor, as they wanted to get to the front yard immediately.

"I didn’t know you could run this fast." Kayden was surprised to know Seara could match his pace. Her face flushed red.

And soon enough, they saw the car where Jeremy came out first, followed by Leia.

"Mom!" Seara rushed toward Leia and hugged her tightly. She buried her face in the crook of her neck and cried.

Leia was shocked when she was suddenly hugged, and she almost stumbled, but Jeremy steadied her, lest both of them get injured.

"Easy there. You are going to hurt my mother." Jeremy emphasized the word ’my mother.’ He was still a bit petty about the way Seara had called Leia.

However, both of them started to cry because they were relieved to find they were fine.

"I am glad you are alright; let me see you." Leia pulled back slightly to inspect Seara, whether or not she was injured somewhere, while Seara did the same. "Oh, I am glad you are fine! You don’t know how much I was worried about you!"

Leia and the others had been hiding because Lidya was greatly injured. They didn’t dare to go out of their hideout because they were in the enemy’s territory, and without Seara there, they didn’t know whether the devil’s pawn was nearby or not.

Because of how well they were hiding, Jared and the others struggled to find them.

And during that time, the only thing that occupied Leia’s mind aside from her mate’s safety was Seara. She prayed that they were fine.

"Oh, I am glad you are fine!" Leia kissed both Seara’s cheeks affectionately. "I am glad. I am really glad."

After that, Seara went to Jared and gave him a hug too. Lidya had been hospitalized, and Leigh was with her twin. They would come to visit them after they got some proper rest and cleaned themselves up.

The news about Leia’s return reached Asher, and as she was someone important, he adjourned the meeting to see her in person.

Asher had prepared a room for Leia and Jeremy, also for the other warriors, but Leia chose to stay in Seara’s bedroom, and she didn’t mind it at all.

"Mom, don’t you want to stay in my room?" Jeremy asked when he saw his mother enter Seara’s room. Their bedrooms were across from each other.

"No, thank you. I have spent days with you; it is time to be with my daughter. You are big already; sleep by yourself."

"What are you trying to imply, Mom!"

Seara then walked toward him and gave him a hug. "There, there."
