Contract Marriage: Enemies With Benefits
Chapter 10: A divorce?
"Unless you want to talk about transferring the ownership of that penthouse, you can leave. There is nothing in common for us to talk about, Sienna!"
An arrogant voice blasted from the other side of the closed door the moment Sienna stood in front of it.
"You know it well that it’s one of the things my mother left for me," Sienna looked at the door coldly, "Just because the socialites at your house party gushed about my penthouse, I am not going to hand it over to you."
There were some rustling noises on the other side, followed by the sound of heels clicking, "I can compensate you with three other properties if you give me that one. You know the location of that penthouse is special. I do not want anything else!"
Sienna frowned, "I don’t see how that concerns me."
"Well, it concerns you in a way that I am going to keep myself locked in the room and starve myself to death if I don’t have it. And then, we will see what Daddy has to say about it?" Kira paused, "He already doesn’t bother himself with you but if something were to happen to me, will he hate you?"
Inside the room, Kira pressed her ear on the door soon after she spoke.
And a victorious smile emerged on the woman’s beautiful painted face when there was no response from Sienna.
She blew at her nails and walked over to the snack basket on the bed, carefully picking a chocolate bar.
She had barely taken a bite from the chocolate when suddenly, the temperature in the room increased.
And the sound of blaring alarms went off in the corridor.
Kira’s hand trembled and the chocolate fell on the floor, "Ah! Daddy! She is trying to kill me... She started a fire..."
Within a minute, the entire horde of servants in the Qing Mansion witnessed Kira Qing dashing out of her room and running downstairs like a headless chicken, tears streaming down on her face.
"Kira, sweetheart, what happened? Why are you crying?" Daniel Qing immediately stepped forward to support his daughter.
"You... Don’t you hear the fire alarms?" Kira froze, realizing something amiss, "Earlier, I..."
"It’s my fault,’’ a voice came from the first floor.
When everyone turned, they found Sienna leaning against a pillar with a few incense sticks in her hand, "Kira refused to listen to me and I was having a hard time convincing her so I thought maybe prayers would help..."
"Sienna, get down this instant!" Daniel’s voice roared throughout the entire mansion.
The servants started whispering. Kira and her mother looked at each other and exchanged a smile.
Everyone knew that the whole drama had already enraged Daniel and the person at the receiving end of his wrath would be none other than Sienna.
But before things could turn into the direction everyone predicted, Daniel’s phone buzzed.
When he looked at the caller ID, his expressions changed a little. He answered the call immediately, "Right now? Oh... Yes, alright. That’d be great."
By the time Sienna walked downstairs, her father looked way more composed than before. There was no trace of anger on his face.
Only, he looked at her sternly, "What happened today, can be put to rest. But remember to not cause any trouble at the annual party."
"Dad, I..."
"As for your impulsive marriage, I will make the arrangements for divorce. Don’t worry about it. Just go back and rest for now."
"I don’t want a divorce," Sienna met his gaze.
Daniel frowned, "You are the daughter of the Qing Family. If I say you need a divorce, then you are going to divorce the wild man you married without the blessing of your elders. You would only marry when I ask you to, and who I ask you to! That’s your responsibility as my daughter! Now, go..."
"But daddy, she... she scared me today..." Kira clung to her father’s arms, tears rolling down her eyes.
The man immediately hugged his younger daughter, whispering something to her.
Nobody knew what he said but Kira’s face immediately lit up.
Daniel reached his other arm to hug Beth. The family of three were so engrossed in the warm moment that they forgot there was a fourth person there.
A hint of a smile appeared on Sienna’s face as she witnessed the scene but the smile did not reach her face.
Without another word, she turned around and left.
"Young Miss, when will you visit again?" The old Butler ran after her.
Sienna’s footsteps slowed for a moment. But eventually, she did not say another word as she walked straight to her car and got into the driver’s seat.
Ignoring the burn in her eyes, she stepped on the accelerator. And the car drove out of the mansion’s main gates.
The moment Sienna’s car disappeared in the darkness, a white car entered the mansion gates.
The butler was momentarily stunned when he saw who the guest was, "Young Master Hawke."
"You look shocked, butler. What’s wrong?" Seth stopped beside the man momentarily.
The butler shook his head, "The Master is waiting."
Once Seth entered the mansion, the butler looked in the direction where Sienna’s car had disappeared, ’It is only better if Young Missy doesn’t visit again or...’
