Contract Marriage: Enemies With Benefits
Chapter 3: New side of him
Sienna was immediately awake. Her penthouse was located in an isolated part of the city and the people who knew her address could be counted on one hand.
’Could it be...?’ Sienna’s face turned a little pale at the thought of seeing ’that’ person, ’No, we have not been in contact. He wouldn’t show up.’
After mulling it over for another minute, Sienna walked out of her room and opened the door.
When she saw who it was, Sienna relaxed.
Standing at the entrance was a young man in a striking red outfit. His blonde hair was neatly combed to the side. He pulled his sunglasses down, revealing his handsome face, "Are you okay? I have been calling you the entire morning.’’
"I dozed off, Jace," Sienna stretched her arms, "What’s the matter?"
"The matter is... far from simple," Jace snapped his fingers and a row of men appeared out of nowhere as they wheeled clothing racks inside the penthouse.
In five minutes, the living room was filled with a collection of wedding dresses.
"Jace, what..." For a moment, Sienna tripped over her words. Had she accidentally mentioned that she was getting married today?
Her thoughts were written all over her face and Jace chuckled, "So, the wedding is indeed happening."
Sienna shrugged a shoulder, "It has to."
"Woah, you are marrying Callahan Hawke, girl! Stop being gloomy," Jace rolled his eyes, ’’I prepared these dresses for you the moment I saw you proposing to him for marriage. I knew there was no escape for him if you made your mind. And later, little birdies told me that you both went to a hotel room, huh?"
Sienna sighed.
"What are you sulking for?"
"That man is hateful, and he would leave no chance to make life hell for me. If you didn’t have a boyfriend, I would have done this with you instead.’’
"I am still telling you that I’ll help you if you need me to. You know my boyfriend, he would understand."
Sienna shook her head. She had known Jace for a long time and she knew that the man liked to be a free bird. She did not want to pull him into her family politics.
"Then, Callahan Hawke it is," Jace smirked.
Sienna groaned.
"Okay, maybe you are thinking too much. You have been at each other’s throat for so long. But things might change after marriage. What if you see a side of him that you had never seen before?"
"He fisted and ripped off a patch of my hair on the first day of kindergarten. What side of him have I not seen before?!"
"Pfft... What?" Jace laughed until tears emerged from the corner of his eyes.
The doorbell rang at this moment.
"Let me...’’ When Jace opened the door, a row of men dressed in black suits were standing at the entrance, each holding a designer box.
They ignored Jace and bowed straight to Sienna, "Madam, the Young Master will see you at the Civil Affairs Bureau."
Right after saying that, all of them entered the place and arranged those boxes neatly on the couch.
Every box was a display of extravagance. A classic white wedding dress, a a pair of beautiful crystal heels, jewelry, a pristine white clutch, a wedding veil...
There was even a makeup set and a variety of beautiful hair clips.
Sienna was stunned.
"C-Civil Affairs Bureau...? You are marrying him today?" Once they left, Jace shut the door and walked to her in disbelief.
When he saw the display on the couch, he was even more shocked, "He even sent you hair clips... Sienna, you little minx, did you bewitch Callahan Hawke or what?"
Sienna turned to look at the overhyped man.
"Or maybe, this is the side of him you have not seen before?!" He continued, still in shock.
...
This was indeed a side of Callahan that Sienna had not seen before.
They registered in the matter of a few minutes and in another minute, they were already husband and wife.
Even as she held their marriage certificates, she found it unreal. Till the last second, Sienna had expected Callahan to pull some trick and she had been cautious to not get played.
But nothing happened at all.
Callahan Hawke played the role of the ideal groom.
When they walked out of the government office, Callahan opened the car door for her.
"No, I will manage..." Sienna stopped speaking mid sentence.
Earlier, he had picked her from her penthouse so she didn’t drive her own car here. She had no need to reject a free ride now.
She quietly got inside the classic black maybach. Once both of them were in, the driver pulled the partition.
Sienna looked out of the window.
The atmosphere in the car turned a bit tense as none of the parties initiated a conversation.
Eventually, Sienna turned to look at Callahan.
Even objectively speaking, the man was like one of those greek god statues preserved in history. He was doing nothing, just sitting there and gazing in distance, yet he looked perfect.
"Enjoying the sight?" He turned to her.
Sienna did not shy away from the fact that she was staring, "I was just casually looking. You know you are not my type."
"Yet, you chose to marry me. What does that say about you, darling?" He looked at her, amusement twinkling in his eyes.
Sienna’s shivered at how provocatively that ’darling’ was uttered, "It says that that I hate complications."
"Oh? How so?" The man looked intrigued.
