Contract Marriage: Married to My Ex-Husband's Alpha Stepfather [BL]
Chapter 477: Meeting Right Under The Mistletoe
[FROLO]
"Theoooo!!"
"No matter how far you run, you can’t outrun meee!"
"How about we make this easy so I can go to the next person on my list? It’s a pretty long one!"
"Theoo!"
The walls of Frolo General Hospital were quieter than they had ever been despite the admissions they had had in the past twenty-four hours.
Soldiers who had been burnt and injured by Sergei, soldiers who had died, and those who were trying to reel from the shock of what they had seen.
Even the civilians were too shocked to say a word.
The hallways were filled with wounded soldiers writhing in so much pain, thanks to the poison that they had been hit with from the guns and the whips the Moskowsky team had come with yesterday to the fight.
It had been the cruelest of things, and honestly no one was sure they wanted to go out there anymore.
But the oath to protect and serve Frolo was one that weighed heavily on the people who had been out there and had seen Sergei.
The death toll so far had risen to thirty-six, with the injured increasing.
It was pretty obvious there was a war going on.
However, in the basement level of Frolo General Hospital where the supplies were kept, the Devil of Frolo was playing hide-and-seek with the hospital manager.
The man who had told Aleksandr how to get Katya to submit to him and look at him without looking at Sergei. The explanation itself was as dumb as fuck as the idea.
It was like everyone just wanted to die one way or the other.
"Theooo!!!" Sergei called out again in a singsong voice.
Honestly, Sergei didn’t care what Theo had done with Aleksandr. And if he cared, it wasn’t the reason he was running around a basement level with so many subunits to find the hospital manager.
Theo was Aleksandr’s doctor too.
The man who knew what drugs Aleksandr took. The man who had been left by the Smirnov family to handle Aleksandr.
He was the reason Alek had managed to get his hands on the serum Joram had left.
The alpha serum.
A serum that Sergei had learned had to be administered every five months because otherwise the alpha would revert back to his true form.
A beta.
Sergei had learned about it from Rastenkin over here decades ago, and hadn’t acted on it.
Until today.
It was something that was interesting and one that Sergei hadn’t intended to come after. But then Aleksandr had gone after Katya.
His Solnyshka.
Now someone had to balance the scales and right this wrong, so this was Sergei’s way of making sure justice did prevail.
"Come on, man, don’t make me kill you! I am having a really good day. Besides, those that I have killed today were not exactly dead when I left them.
"It’s not my fault that your hospital takes forever to get to the patients who actually need saving, now, is it?" Sergei argued as he pushed open a door.
He could smell the mn all over, which made the hunt even more interesting. Because at this point, they would be tired of running. And he would try to escape through the eight doors Sergei had locked.
The very doors that Theo would not even be able to open because Sergei had melted the handles.
If Theo grabbed a bit too hard, it would draw the attention of the entire hospital to both of them, which wasn’t exactly the greatest comfort for the man right now.
Maybe if he cooperated with Sergei, things would be pretty fine, right?
"Mr. Moskowsky, please... I don’t know what I did for you to be hunting me!" Theo cried out in pain.
He had been slammed against the wall hard with Sergei earlier, and he could still feel his head spinning. And Sergei had told him to run, which Theo had been doing for the past forty-five minutes.
It was exhausting because he couldn’t even see where he was headed.
If he stopped running, Sergei had sworn he would rip his insides out. And that was something that Theo wasn’t going to call a bluff on because he had seen the events yesterday evening.
He was not trying to have his body separated into three pieces like that official’s body had been. But even that wasn’t the greatest comfort for him. Because it was Sergei.
Sergei.
Fuck.
"Alright then, I will count to thirty, since that’s how long you have been administering the serum to that fake alpha. You can either come yourself, or I will shift into my wolf and sniff you out.
"I promise to bite only your leg in my wolf form, which wouldn’t be the courtesy I am offering you now. But hey, don’t think I didn’t give you a choice," Sergei said casually like he was talking about taking someone’s life.
Like this was all just a game for him.
To be fair, it was.
He had dedicated his life to hunting down everyone who was related to Aleksandr and who had in any way contributed to hurting Katya. It was a game with so many sides, and only Sergei fully understood it.
Clearly, he was having quite the fun while tormenting people.
Then again, they had contributed to his state right now in the first place, right?
"Thirty!" Sergei began, and Theo whimpered in the distance.
He was in the last office.
Sergei had seen him.
But he was going to wait until Theo felt safe enough to come out and talk to Sergei on his own. Sergei was fair, just like that, yeah? Well, it wasn’t exactly the hardest of things for Theo to do now, yeah?
"Twenty-five!" Sergei said, not counting the remaining numbers in between.
"You said it was a countdown! Twenty-nine comes after thirty!" Theo argued in the distance, and Sergei chuckled.
"My math is unfortunately different from yours, Theo. Or maybe you can come outside here and tell me about it, yeah?
"I promise to be a good listener," Sergei said, like he was offering the simplest of solutions.
In fact, he shot a bullet through the door to the office where Theo was hiding, earning a loud scream from that room.
God, this man was a wuss.
Over three decades of making Alek stay an alpha, and all he could think of was screaming instead of even trying to use his serum on himself?
"Twenty!" Sergei said, firing into the wall this time.
He loved the sound of bullets bouncing off the walls and the doors. He loved the screams the man was letting out because, honestly, for him it was like a therapy session.
He hadn’t had a therapy session since he had been with Doctor Belyaeva, and only because the doctor had decided to hurt Katya.
Sergei had always believed he could be good friends with Belyaeva even after he incapacitated her, but then the woman had to provoke him.
So he murdered her, and now he was just out here undiagnosed and unleashing terror on so many people.
Who deserved it...
Right?
"Fifteen!" Sergei counted.
Theo, seeing as he did have a choice, spoke again.
"What if I come out myself, will you kill me?" Theo asked, voice shaking, and Sergei laughed at that.
"Maybe... maybe not... ten!"
