Chapter 323: Chapter 321: Holy Daughter

Chen Xing actually quite liked this young girl.

She looked to be only sixteen or seventeen, still a minor.

If she was right, then Blake was truly inhuman.

’What kind of mindset does he have, buying all these underage girls?’

"Should we go ask the others what they think?" The girl who was still in disbelief was also starting to get scared.

If they had really been sold, they might never be able to return to their families.

They went to the next room.

And so, two became three... until finally, a whole room full of young girls had gathered.

They all felt that something was wrong.

Although they didn’t want to believe it, the facts were right in front of them.

"I still refuse to believe the Bishop would lie to us!" The first girl was still unwilling to accept it.

’If you can’t even trust the Bishop, who in this world can you trust?’

"The facts are right in front of you. Only a fool would still believe the Bishop!" The girl who had figured it out first was already disgusted with the Bishop.

Their families and friends all trusted the Bishop and believed in the Holy Hall, which was why they had let him take the girls away with confidence.

The Bishop had deceived all the followers who believed in him.

"What do we do?" Some of the more timid ones had already started to cry. "Are they going to kill us as a sacrifice?"

They had heard of many evil cults that specifically used young maidens as sacrifices to the Devil.

"We have to find a way to escape this place!" As for what came next, they could only take it one step at a time.

That night, Chen Xing didn’t go back, instead staying close to Blake.

She really hadn’t pegged him as such an old lech.

He had ambiguous relationships with all sorts of women, except for his personal bodyguard, Cheng Cheng.

He always seemed to hold a certain hostility toward Cheng Cheng, and his words were never friendly.

Cheng Cheng didn’t bother arguing with him, nor did she treat him with the deference one would show a master.

As midnight approached, after finishing his various social engagements, Blake took the elevator to the floor where the dozen or so girls were staying.

Chen Xing knew he was about to make his move on the girls.

Blake had had a few drinks. His steps were slightly unsteady as he casually pulled open a random door.

The girl inside was the very one who had firmly believed the Bishop would not deceive them.

Hearing a noise, she sat up in a panic. Seeing it was Blake who entered, she clutched her blanket and backed away to the wall. "Great Commander... D-do you need something?" She hoped this wasn’t really happening.

Blake swayed over to the bedside, sat on the edge of the mattress, and reached out to caress the girl’s cheek. "What did your Bishop tell you?"

"The Bishop... told me to listen to the Great Commander’s words!"

"Then I need you to come with me right now!"

"Where is the Great Commander taking me?" The girl’s pupils trembled, and her voice shook with fear.

The Great Commander stood up. "To a place that can make you a god!"

The girl didn’t understand.

The Great Commander’s voice was now menacing. "The consequence of disobedience will be meeting the Devil!"

For those who believed in God, the Devil was the most terrifying thing in the world.

The girl hesitated for a moment before finally giving in and slowly getting up.

Just then, a guard suddenly appeared at the door to report, "This is bad, Great Commander! The old Bishop is dead!"

Blake sobered up instantly. "What?"

Hiding in the Jiezhi Space, even Chen Xing was stunned.

She had been planning to see where Blake was taking the girl, so she hadn’t made a move yet.

She followed Blake to the old Bishop’s quarters.

The old Bishop lay on the bed with a knife stuck in his chest.

Lou was kneeling by the bed, chanting something.

Judging by the old Bishop’s appearance, he hadn’t struggled at all. It must have been done by an acquaintance, or by someone who snuck in while he was sound asleep.

’The only one who could do this so silently is probably Lou.’

"How did the old Bishop die?" Blake couldn’t believe something like this had happened on his own turf.

The old Bishop didn’t seem particularly powerful, but the influence behind him was considerable; he had followers in many countries.

If word of this got out, his position as Great Commander would likely be in jeopardy.

Lou stood up. "When I came in, the Bishop had already been assassinated! I hope the Great Commander can find the killer as soon as possible and give an explanation to us followers who were loyal to the old Bishop!"

Blake: "..." ’I knew this would land on my head.’

"We will do our utmost to find the killer and give you an explanation!"

"This all happened so suddenly. I want to take our followers back to our country to prevent any further accidents. Otherwise, I’m afraid it would be difficult for you to explain!" Lou seemed to have thought this through carefully. "You’re also aware that in our church, the status of a Holy Daughter is in no way inferior to that of the old Bishop, correct?"

If Blake refused to let the Holy Daughters leave and word got out, he too would be in danger.

Blake could only try to placate him for now. "The cause of the old Bishop’s death hasn’t been determined yet. If you leave like this, how will you explain it to his followers? In my opinion, you should stay for a few more days. Wait until the matter is cleared up before you leave."

"If anything else happens to the Holy Daughters, I won’t be able to face the followers. I hope the Great Commander understands!" His words were polite, but his tone was non-negotiable.

Blake had no choice but to agree. "I will arrange for your departure tomorrow morning!"

He said as much, but the look in his eyes was clearly malicious.

With the old Bishop dead, his plans for the night were ruined. He had no time to enjoy the Holy Daughters.

Not long after Blake left, Lou went to the Holy Daughters’ floor.

The girls had already learned of the old Bishop’s death, and their feelings were indescribable.

’Hate him? But in their hearts, the Bishop was everything.’

’Not hate him? That was impossible.’

The girl who had almost been taken away by Blake had already told everyone about his actions.

At this moment, they were even more determined to leave this place.

When Lou knocked and entered, the girls were all on guard. After all, he was the old Bishop’s confidant.

"Don’t misunderstand! I’m here to help you. I’m the one who killed the old Bishop. He wanted to use you to curry favor with Great Commander Blake and strengthen his relationship with him. Just like you, I only found out about this today."

"You really killed the old Bishop?"

Lou nodded. "I couldn’t stand by and watch the Holy Daughters of the Holy Hall be put in danger! The old Bishop had been possessed by a Devil. If I hadn’t killed him, you would have been the ones to suffer!"

"Thank you, Vice-Bishop Lou!" The Holy Daughters were endlessly grateful to Lou.

"If we can return to the Holy Hall safely, then Bishop Lou shall preside as the next Bishop!"

Chen Xing had followed Blake.

She felt that Blake would definitely make another move.

Sure enough, after returning to his office, Blake made several phone calls.

As dawn approached, one by one, Invisible Men entered the Great Commander’s building.

The devices on the first-floor lobby and in the stairwell specifically designed to detect Invisible Men were all shut down.

The Invisible Men’s target was the Holy Daughters’ floor.

Arriving outside the Holy Daughters’ rooms, they opened them one by one, but there were no Holy Daughters inside.

Just as they were growing puzzled, in the very last room, they saw a sleeping Holy Daughter... Chen Xing.

She was wearing the white robes of the church, looking for all the world like a girl of sixteen or seventeen.
