Chapter 334: Chapter 332: Just How Big Is This Monster?

That did it. Chen Xing was furious.

If she had been panicking before, losing contact with another one of her darlings sent her into a complete rage.

’Fine!’

She recalled all the Little Black Cats, planning to only bring Meng Hu with her.

But then, inside her space, she immediately spotted the poodle.

That made her realize something. For Song Yiguo’s team to vanish in an instant without a sound, they must have been knocked unconscious.

With a wave of her hand, she brought the poodle out of her space.

Despite the short time it had been with her, the poodle was already completely loyal—one of the most useful features of her space.

The poodle was clearly uneasy after being brought out and pressed against her leg.

Chen Xing sensed its anxiety.

She did her best to communicate with it telepathically, telling it to help her find the others.

But then... the missing Little Black Cat suddenly darted out from the second floor and began to affectionately rub against Chen Xing.

Chen Xing was at a loss for words.

As the Little Black Cat approached, she saw the poodle freeze in fear.

And Chen Xing immediately smelled it—the same scent of a knockout drug that had been on the poodle when it first approached them.

Chen Xing recalled the Little Black Cat. Furious, she leaped up and dashed toward the second floor.

’They can capture my Little Black Cat, capture Song Yiguo, capture Vice General Du... As long as no one is killed, I can tolerate it!’

’But... damn it, how dare they use my precious darlings against me?’

On the stairs, she drank some of the spring water to keep her mind sharp.

As soon as she reached the second floor, she saw her other missing Little Black Cat running toward her.

Without missing a beat, Chen Xing recalled it into her space.

At that same moment, she knew the monster’s exact location.

Although the Little Black Cat had been used by the enemy, as a creation of her space, it was telepathically linked to her. It had been transmitting the location ever since it woke up.

In a room on the second floor near the kitchen, there was a small, half-meter-long pull cord, like one for an old light switch.

A hard pull opened a small square panel in the ceiling, and a simple ladder dropped down. There was an attic above.

Chen Xing scrambled up in a few quick steps.

But... she didn’t see the monster inside.

Instead, Song Yiguo’s entire team was unconscious on the floor.

’I have to save them first.’

After pouring some spring water into the mouths of Song Yiguo and Vice General Du, she handed them the rest of the water and immediately jumped down from the attic.

She had sensed the poodle below was terrified.

When she landed, she didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

"Chen Xing... what’s going on?" Song Yiguo called out as he came down, having left Vice General Du to give water to the others.

Chen Xing didn’t answer him. Instead, she followed the poodle’s line of sight, her gaze locking onto the living room window.

She couldn’t imagine what kind of person, or monster, this was.

Making two hundred people vanish in about ten minutes... Even she couldn’t do that without using her Space Ability.

Song Yiguo, who had come to a stop beside Chen Xing, followed her gaze. "What’s over there?"

His superpower was gone again, so he had to be more careful than ever.

Chen Xing didn’t know what was there either, but... something was definitely there.

"Take the poodle and fall back. Vice General Du and the others should stay put for now!" Chen Xing said, her spiritual power completely focused.

’I finally found a trace of it. I can’t let it get away!’

Although it couldn’t knock people out as fast as the Little Poison Grass, this thing was insidious... it made people temporarily lose their superpowers.

How would a Superpower User feel, believing their powers were gone?

A mental collapse would be certain!

Take Song Yiguo, for example. Even with his strong spiritual power, his reaction to losing his superpower was a clear indication of how others would panic.

The poodle didn’t wait for Song Yiguo; upon receiving its master’s command, it immediately backed away.

Song Yiguo quickly retreated as well.

He even used a hand signal to warn Vice General Du, who was already down, to stay completely silent.

The Superpower Users upstairs also stayed put.

The room fell utterly silent.

Even the poodle held its breath, cowering behind Song Yiguo.

Suddenly, Chen Xing’s figure flickered, and she vanished from sight.

At that same instant, the thing at the window moved.

Sensing the danger, it lunged for the door at the exact moment Chen Xing vanished.

But as it charged past the spot where Chen Xing had been, a net appeared out of nowhere and completely enveloped it.

Song Yiguo and Vice General Du were speechless.

It wasn’t the sudden appearance of the net that amazed them.

Chen Xing had a Space Ability, so it was perfectly normal for her to pull things out of thin air.

What shocked them was the thing inside the net.

’Just how big is this monster?’

A fishing net was suspended in mid-air, and it was no exaggeration to say the shape struggling beneath it was the size of a full-grown elephant.

Vice General Du instinctively glanced at the doorframe.

’How did something that huge get through that door?’

Seeing the monster struggle in the net, Chen Xing instantly summoned a large iron fork and plunged it straight in.

A blood-curdling scream erupted from the net.

Goosebumps broke out on everyone’s skin.

Because... the voice was distinctly human.

Chen Xing formed a second iron fork and stabbed it into the monster. As the net slowly retracted, a woman, curled into a ball in agony, was revealed.

The moment she transformed into a woman, the poodle was so terrified it didn’t dare peek out.

At the same time, a pungent odor began to emanate from the woman’s body.

A moment later, everyone collapsed again—all except for Chen Xing, who had instantly donned a mask.

The curled-up woman squirmed, inching her way toward the dining table.

That was where she could replenish her strength... with human flesh!

As long as she ate human flesh, she could become powerful again.

Two more steel forks appeared in Chen Xing’s hands. She aimed them at the woman, who was reaching for the human flesh.

She plunged the two forks in, and the monster’s life signs vanished.

It was, in truth, a monster. Its form was only human when releasing its poison; the rest of the time, its body was monstrous.

The fleeting figure Chen Xing had glimpsed outside the window was the monster.

"Holy shit..." The moment the monster died, Song Yiguo’s team all woke up and hurried downstairs to see what had happened.

The curse came from one of the Superpower Users in the attic.

He had opened the door to a nearby room in the attic and shouted involuntarily at the sight of the dismembered corpse inside.

After coming down from the attic and seeing the meat on the dining table, the same Superpower User who had cursed couldn’t stop himself from vomiting.

Until now, he had only heard stories of cannibalism; this was the first time he had seen it with his own eyes.

"Let’s go downstairs. We’ll leave town once your superpowers recover!" Chen Xing said, redirecting their attention. She led the way downstairs with the poodle.

No one wanted to stay in a place full of human flesh, so they all came down in a rush.

"Throw out all the meat we gathered!" Song Yiguo ordered, unwilling to take any risks.

He had no intention of taking any of the meat from this place.

The team’s Space Ability User dumped all the frozen meat they had just taken from the freezer out of their storage and into the basement.

Meanwhile, Chen Xing stood at the window, looking out.

Just as she’d suspected, more teams had arrived, blocking off all the town’s exits.
