Chapter 1625: Chapter 75: Beginning of the Wild Night (Part 2)

No one would dare underestimate the strength of these young people. The very fact that they’ve shown up at this gathering means they already speak for their families. Whatever they do, whatever they say, those old bastards lurking in the background can easily squeeze enough intel out of this party.

They can clearly see exactly what kind of cards Margaret and that Fatty are holding, what kind of power they can unleash, what kind of terms they’ll lay out to sway a family’s stance.

That said, tonight really isn’t a great time for a party. Even though Hastings still exerts massive deterrence and influence over this country. The generals under him, the Hastings family’s forces, will obey his orders without the slightest hesitation and hit back with the hardest counterstrike against anyone who dares launch an attack.

But there’s always someone who’ll risk everything.

This has always been a fight to the death. Now that Hastings’ life has entered its countdown, what could be more tempting than taking out his two heirs in one go and smashing the Hastings family to pieces?

After the assassination of Francis, those people have already entered a kind of runaway inertia. Any insane move they make wouldn’t surprise anyone.

Maybe, within a one?kilometer radius of Devil’s Paradise, everything looks calm. No suspicious figures in sight. Neon lights, booze, dancing, everything flourishing.

But as long as you step out into certain zones beyond that one?kilometer circle, you’ll see it. Those Fierce Beasts from different families have already slipped into their attack positions under cover of the night, waiting in silence.

They’re not on the same side. Each has their own stance, their own ideas, their own plans.

They might not want to be the first to strike, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be fully prepared to make a snap decision when chaos and opportunity hit, baring their fangs.

Twenty full luxury Flying Cars barreled over without slowing, in a swaggering, domineering formation, and stopped less than twenty centimeters from Jillian.

The doors opened. A slightly fat, pale?faced young man was the first to step out, surrounded by a phalanx of forty, fifty bodyguards.

From the cars behind, three young men of different heights and three women of different ages also stepped out one after another. They were impeccably dressed, graceful in manner, each with a faint smile at the corner of their mouth, eyes sweeping lazily over the crowd at the entrance.

The slightly fat young man stood in front of Jillian, staring straight at Jillian’s full, high breasts as if he were falling into them, taking a deep breath, licking his lips. "Jillian, you’re really getting more and more stacked."

Jillian took a step back, staring in disgust at that pale, puffy face, nausea rising.

The newcomer’s name was Miller. Eldest grandson of the Miller family. His father is the Commander?in?Chief of the Cher Blue Military District, his grandfather has protégés and old comrades spread across the entire military, his maternal grandfather is a widely acknowledged old fox in the Feiyang political arena. This is the bastard who tried to spike Margaret with a drug back then, only to have Margaret cripple him in public. The incident almost blew up beyond salvage.

Even with the Miller family’s enormous power, ranked second in Feiyang, in the end they could only swallow the humiliation. It’s said Miller once publicly swore that he’d put his life on the line to make Margaret pay the price, even if it meant the entire Miller family and the Hastings family tearing each other apart.

Nobody doubts the madman’s words. He’s a rabid dog, a viper in this circle.

The number of people he’s bitten is countless.

Clearly, he hasn’t come here tonight with any good intentions. This gathering is very likely to spiral out of control because of this lunatic.

"Stacked, huh?" Jillian thrust out her chest, gritting her teeth and sneering. "Too bad, Miller, you didn’t grow yourself a spare dick."

The doorway fell silent. The bodyguards’ faces tightened; they could almost smell the acrid reek of gunpowder catching flame. Whether it was Devil’s Paradise security or the various families’ bodyguards, everyone was tense, blades practically drawn—one tiny spark and fists would be flying.

To everyone’s surprise, Miller didn’t show the slightest sign of anger at this vicious jab. He acted as if he hadn’t heard anything. That bloated, pale face still wore a cold, viperish smile, his eyes flashing with a deranged, perverted light.

He kept his head lowered, still staring straight at Jillian’s chest, licking his lips. "I do have one. Outside’s bio?synthetic tissue, inside’s some kind of metal I don’t even know. I guarantee I can screw you to death."

"But you’ll have to line up behind my beloved Maggie." He looked up and bared his teeth at Jillian, who was about as nauseated as a person could get. Those utterly depraved eyes swept over the faces of the young men and women whose expressions had gone storm?cloud dark. "So? Our goddess isn’t here yet?"

The languid young man David Kelly let out a cold chuckle, the young Vice Admiral William McCarthy raised an eyebrow slightly, and the youth whose face was forever sheathed in a layer of frost—Shen Daqi—took a step forward and said to Miller, "Get lost."

Miller lifted his eyelids, those dull eyes slowly shifting to the cold?faced young man, and said in a lewd tone, "Shen, where are your two big sisters? I miss them so much."

Shen Daqi’s face went glacial as he suddenly stepped forward, but David by his side grabbed him hard.

"Exactly," Miller chuckled, clapping his hands. "Kelly always knows what’s what. We’re civilized people. Margaret’s back, we should all be happily catching up, why get so damn tense?"

He glanced around and said lazily, "Besides, even if you all like Margaret to death, what good does it do? She’s already brought her man back. Don’t you want to see who managed to conquer our goddess? What’s the point of snarling at me? Beat me up and that’ll make the goddess fall for you?"

Shen Daqi clenched his fists so hard his knuckles whitened, snorted heavily, and turned his head away from Miller.

Miller smiled. "Of the six great families of the Feiyang Republic, excluding the Hastings family, we’ve got five here."

He pointed a finger at Shen Daqi. "The Shen Family ranks fourth, but in recent years your family’s grip on the military has been slipping. Since the Shen Family insists on staying neutral, you might as well keep it up; at least you’ll stay alive."

After finishing with Shen Daqi, Miller turned his head to look at David, who was still holding Shen, and said with a faint smile, "The Kelly Family’s really been riding the wind these last few years. Knocking the McKinley family out of sixth place—impressive work.

But if the Kelly Family wants to push further into the military, offending Marshal Hastings’ favored officer Admiral McKinley does bring some trouble. Now that Admiral McKinley controls the Allied Command Center, I bet old man Kelly already has other plans brewing."

David Kelly’s face was like still water; he turned his head away coldly.

Miller shifted his gaze to the young Vice Admiral and suddenly laughed. "The McCarthy family has always been diehard loyalists to Marshal Hastings, but William, you personally are more in line with General Leefer’s views. If our Lord Military God is planning to hand the Feiyang Republic over to a Fatty from Leray, you going to sign off on that?"

McCarthy said coolly, "None of your business."

Miller shrugged with a smile, then turned to look at two of the young men standing among the three men and three women beside him. "Among the rest of us here, our Miller family and the Bu’er family, the Heinrich Family have always shared a common enemy. The Heinrich family’s power doesn’t make the top six, but compared to Jillian’s Edwards family..."

His gaze shifted to the young man with the perpetual wicked grin standing next to Shen Daqi, and he went on, "...and you, Tom, your Smith family—they’re a bit stronger, wouldn’t you say?"

Laughing loudly, he spread his arms and swaggered toward the entrance of Devil’s Paradise Nightclub. "Come on, let’s not freeze our asses off out here. We can grab a drink and wait for our goddess to arrive. Tonight I’m going to give her a night she’ll never forget..."

"What kind of unforgettable?" A crisp voice made Miller stop mid?step.

His face twitched as he slowly turned around—only to see Margaret standing behind him in a tight dress, looking fresh and stunning.

The thin fabric flowed over Margaret’s curvy body like water, tightly wrapping her exaggerated figure. The V?neckline framed her cleavage beneath a hanging blue diamond pendant, making it almost impossible to look away.

Her hand was lightly hooked around the arm of a Fatty with an utterly ordinary appearance, while the Fatty’s other arm was held by a girl whose looks and aura didn’t lose out to Margaret’s in the slightest.

And that Fatty, with a pair of little protruding ears and a face that would disappear instantly in a crowd, was looking simple and honest as he asked Margaret, "Who’s this nutcase?"
