Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 810: What My Family Hopes For
They had already learned from Zuo Zuo's account what had happened underground.
Even after hearing that he had provoked hell by wielding that Authority, they still felt waves of absurdity and trepidation.
How dare he!
One had to understand, even roots like them didn't dare to challenge this hell. The Colossus had been beaten back, the Titan was constantly whipped. It could be said that here, this hell was the heavens themselves.
Looking at the concerned and worried gazes of everyone, a trace of a smile appeared on Lynn's face as he said:
"Zuo Zuo told you, didn't she?"
"It's fine, everyone, don't worry. I didn't transfer the backlash onto myself. I just..."
"Lynn!"
Before he could finish, Sir Aiwen interrupted him with a serious look in his eyes.
He stared into Lynn's eyes.As if he could see directly into his heart.
"Everyone is very worried about you, and precisely because of that, no one wants to see you in danger. Yes, you may not consider yourself, but you are different now. You carry all our hopes... Haven't you always asked everyone to believe in you? So why can't you believe in us just once?"
His gaze was serious and earnest.
"Are we not your family?"
Silence fell over the surroundings.
A gentle breeze blew through his hair, and the atmosphere quietly settled.
Because they really were worried. Recalling the events of the past two days, everyone's hearts burned with anxiety upon seeing his battered appearance. Because without even realizing it, Lynn had already become their pillar of strength.
Perhaps he truly was weak. Perhaps he truly didn't possess their insane, overwhelming power.
But it was precisely his existence that mattered.
Time and again, he made them believe that even in this hell, they weren't plunged into despair. At least in the foreseeable future, that ray of light would shine ever brighter.
A long moment passed.
Lynn finally raised his head, a gentle softness gradually emerging in his eyes. He spoke in a low voice with a faint smile:
"I understand."
"Thank you, everyone. From now on, I absolutely will not put myself in such danger again. I swear it to you."
Because just as Sir Aiwen had said, he now understood everyone's concern for him. He was no longer the carefree fool who had just fallen into this hell with nothing to tie him down. Now he had Zuo Zuo, Little One, the Matriarch, and Sir Aiwen - all these people who cared about him.
And weren't these exactly the bonds that mattered?
The atmosphere around them slowly relaxed. Miaomiao, in a single leap, pounced directly into his arms, burying her head in his chest, her eyes red-rimmed without saying a word.
Everyone finally let out a sigh of relief, a soft warmth appearing in their eyes.
"So."
Sir Aiwen looked at him seriously and said:
"Can you answer my earlier question? Did you really... transfer all the backlash from her onto yourself?"
Lynn looked at the concerned crowd, finally took a deep breath, adjusted his Monocle, and smiled:
"Yeah, more or less."
Silence fell once again.
Even Sir Aiwen's gaze became unprecedentedly grave.
Lynn said softly: "Because this was originally our Contract. The backlash that should have been partially borne by me was instead endured entirely by her alone. No matter what, I couldn't agree to that. So I went to find her this time, precisely to lighten her burden."
Sir Aiwen frowned deeply: "So you wrote those words? Do you have any idea... who you were provoking..."
Lynn propped his chin on his hand, sitting cross-legged on the ground, smiling:
"This hell."
No one could say a word.
Lynn raised his head, squinting happily at the thick black mist hanging high above, saying: "I haven't gone mad. It's that ever since I gradually began to detect those mysteries within my body, I've increasingly felt that I'm out of the ordinary. Sir Aiwen, you should know - that Pupil-less Magic Circle had already revealed some problems long ago."
Sir Aiwen's brows furrowed tightly.
Lynn then turned his head, looking at the silver-haired girl not far away who had been staring at him intently, and smiled:
"As for you too, Brain, you understand deeper than most, but you didn't elaborate further with me. Still, you should be well aware of how terrifying that violet power inside my body is."
Because in the hall of Colossus Space.
They had once clashed.
Colossus's Brain's pupils flickered slightly, her fingers unconsciously clenching.
Lynn took a deep breath, smiled, and held the twig in his hand, tracing fine lines on the ground before him bit by bit.
Gently.
He outlined a blooming violet flower.
Gazing at that blossoming bud, Lynn's eyes slowly softened as he said:
"So I gradually discovered that as time passed, it seemed something was also slowly reviving inside my body, gradually manifesting its existence. This made it impossible for me not to pay attention."
"And not just that power, but also the bizarre things that kept happening around me, as if everything had been arranged in advance. From my visit to Happy Home, to Nightfall City, and most recently the Cursed City, I increasingly feel clearly that..."
"My fate seems to have been continuously influenced and adjusted by some external force."
Sir Aiwen and Colossus's Brain's eyes began to flicker.
And they immediately recalled.
Wushen and her husband had mentioned encountering that Pig-Headed Butcher and the Clown on the Wasteland - precisely because of their appearance, they had been delayed from reinforcing the Cursed City.
And that Fallen Angel had also said that before they returned, she had received a visit from the Jailers.
And that music box.
As if all of this formed a single thread, a thread faintly coiled around him...
Lynn raised his head with a smile in his eyes: "And later, when I went to find Quill, she also gave me some revelations. She was very curious about me and tried to deduce the origin of that power inside my body. But unfortunately, that power even made her - a Goddess of Fate - have to choose oblivion as a way to shield herself."
The moment these words were spoken, everyone's expressions changed dramatically.
Goddess of Fate?!
"You mean that quill is..."
Sir Aiwen's gaze suddenly became urgent.
Lynn gently adjusted his Monocle and said: "Yes. She is the fallen Goddess of Fate, also a deity of the rule system. But even an existence like her felt fear toward that power within me. So this only makes me even more confused - what exactly am I?"
Everyone felt a chill rising within them.
Lynn softly gazed at the violet flower he had drawn before him and said:
"But she still told me one thing."
"What did she say?" Sir Aiwen asked with flickering eyes.
Lynn smiled, raised his head, and looked at the pitch-black sky, saying: "She said that something is searching for me, and something is also protecting me. She also said..."
"I was fortunate to have fallen into hell."
