"Can’t we just return it?" The female named Mu Zhi pursed her lips, not realizing the gravity of the situation.

Bai Wanwan stood at the back of the crowd. After listening to everyone’s discussion, she looked toward the female in the center.

She looked a bit like Mu Shan.

Both had fleshy, harsh-looking faces.

"Your cub has already eaten two of them. The Eagle Beasts must have found out by now. If we return it now, won’t we be caught red-handed?"

"Then what do you suggest we do? You say we can’t return it, but you’ll curse us if we don’t. My cub is so young, what could he possibly know?"

Mu Zhi pursed her lips. ’What’s the big deal? It’s just an egg, isn’t it?’

’So he ate it. Her cub had eaten plenty of eggs before.’

"You clueless female! If the Eagle Beast clan finds out the egg was stolen by our clan and wants revenge, our entire clan will suffer!"

Mu Zhi’s expression changed slightly, but she remained stubborn. "I don’t believe that. Then let’s just bury the remaining eggs. As long as the Eagle Beasts don’t find out, it’ll be fine, right?"

Some of the males saw that her cub had made such a huge mistake, and yet she was still being stubborn.

Bai Wanwan also looked at the cub.

"Cub, hurry up and talk!" a Beastman urged anxiously.

Mu Zhi planted her hands on her hips and roared at the person who had urged him, "Why are you being so fierce? You’re scaring my cub."

"If you don’t make it clear, we’ll immediately take your cub to the Clan Leader and let the Clan Leader see what a disaster your cub has caused."

Mu Zhi was about to speak again when the cub behind her suddenly shouted, "I didn’t steal it! I saw another cub bring it back, and I snatched it from him!"

Hearing this, Mu Zhi immediately grabbed his shoulders and asked, "Why didn’t you say so earlier? Quickly, tell your Mother who stole it!"

"You’ve come at just the right time. This is your cub’s doing, so don’t you dare blame my cub for it."

Bai Wanwan shot her a look but didn’t say a word. Her gaze slid down to the cub hiding behind his Mother.

"You say my cub stole the eggs. Did you see it with your own eyes?"

The little cub wasn’t yet an adult and didn’t know about the glorious deeds of Bai Wanwan and her Beast Husbands.

Right now, all he wanted was to pass the buck. He immediately clamored at Bai Wanwan, "It was your cub who stole the eggs! I saw him carrying them back with my own eyes!"

Bai Wanwan smiled and took a step forward.

Mu Zhi immediately pulled her cub back. "What are you doing? Don’t you dare try to scare my cub."

"How am I scaring him? You’re slinging mud at my cub, and I’m not even allowed to ask a few questions?"

Just as she was speaking, a small, silver-white figure darted in from behind the crowd.

Seeing his Mother, the wolf cub was so happy he couldn’t stop wagging his tail.

He ran to his Mother’s leg and nuzzled against her again and again.

When Mu Zhi’s cub saw the wolf cub, he immediately pointed at him and shouted, "It’s him! He’s the one who stole the Eagle Beast Eggs! If you’re going to blame someone, blame him."

The surrounding Beastmen began to murmur, but they kept their voices low as if afraid Bai Wanwan would hear them.

Bai Wanwan hadn’t seen her cub in several days, so she immediately bent down and scooped the wolf cub up.

Her expression softened, and she kissed the wolf cub’s face. "Did you miss Mommy?"

The wolf cub squirmed joyfully in her arms, almost too much for her to hold.

Seeing this, Zhu Xiu reached out and took him. "I’ll hold him."

Bai Wanwan gave him a quick kiss and handed him over, since the matter was not yet resolved.

After Zhu Xiu took the wolf cub, Bai Wanwan’s gaze swept over the surrounding Beastmen.

When they looked at her family, their expressions were clearly filled with resentment, but they didn’t dare to voice their anger.

"This has nothing to do with my cub. If you want to find someone, find her. I’m taking my cub home now."

Mu Zhi didn’t want to get involved any further, lest she bring trouble upon herself.

But just as she took her cub’s hand and turned to leave, Bai Wanwan’s icy voice rang out.

"Stop! No one is leaving until this is cleared up."

Mu Zhi’s temper flared instantly. "On what grounds can you stop us from leaving? This is your mess, it has nothing to do with us."

Bai Wanwan let out a cold laugh. "On the grounds that your cub tried to pin the blame on my cub with just a few words. You say it has nothing to do with you?"

Mu Zhi’s cub immediately started jumping and pointing at the wolf cub. "It’s him! It’s him! He’s the reason everyone is yelling at me!"

Bai Wanwan’s cold, sharp gaze swept over to him. Mu Zhi’s cub was startled but still stuck his neck out and said, "He’s the one who got me in trouble, and he’s endangered our entire clan!"

"Very well. Then let me ask your Mother: when you were his size, had you ever left the clan’s territory? Could a cub this small go out and come back safely? Let alone carrying a whole nest of eggs?"

Bai Wanwan’s questioning made the Beastmen turn their gazes to the wolf cub.

The wolf cub was lying lazily in Zhu Xiu’s arms, completely unaware that a huge pot of blame was being pinned on him.

Mu Zhi’s expression changed, but she insisted stubbornly, "My cub saw it with his own eyes. How could it be fake?"

Bai Wanwan’s gaze locked back onto Mu Zhi’s cub.

"You little brat, get over here and apologize!"

She hated lawless little brats the most, and now one was slandering her own cub.
