The door opened with a CREAK, revealing Yan Chi’s anxious expression.

Normally, Foreign Beastmen like him didn’t need to get involved in battles between the clans.

He had stayed behind only to protect Yan Lie and his Wife.

Fortunately, they had returned safely.

"Big Brother, you’re here. Come in and sit down."

Yan Chi stepped inside, asking as he walked, "I’m relieved to see you’re okay. How’s Yan Lie? Is he badly hurt?"

Yan Chi’s heart sank. "Which room? I’ll go see him."

Bai Wanwan closed the door and led the way. "This way, Big Brother."

Yan Chi strode in and saw Xin Feng lying on the bed. He nodded at him. "Are you all right?"

Xin Feng managed a smile in response. "I’m okay. Yan Lie’s condition is probably a bit more serious than mine."

"Then you focus on recovering. I’m going to check on him."

With that, Yan Chi hurried over to the sofa where Yan Lie was.

Hearing the commotion, Yan Lie turned his head.

Because he was forcing himself to endure the itch, his expression wasn’t as relaxed as usual. Covered in wounds, he looked utterly miserable.

Yan Chi’s heart ached for him. "How did you let yourself get in this state? If Father Beast and Mother saw you, I can’t imagine how heartbroken they’d be."

After Yan Chi spoke, Bai Wanwan, feeling a pang of guilt, chimed in, "Big Brother, it’s my fault. If it weren’t for me, they wouldn’t have been hurt like this."

Yan Chi let out a frustrated laugh. "You can talk about that after you’ve recovered."

He then looked up at Bai Wanwan, who was standing nearby. "It’s not your fault. Yan Lie is your Beast Husband; his priority is to protect you no matter what."

After a pause, he added, "If you can’t manage to take care of them, I’ll stay here for a few days to help you."

Bai Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief. She really was spread too thin. If someone could help, she’d feel much more at ease knowing the other two were being looked after while she was comforting one of her Beast Husbands.

"In that case, I won’t stand on ceremony, Big Brother. I really do need your help."

Since all three Beast Husbands were in poor condition, Bai Wanwan had sealed the hut up tight and placed a heater inside.

Yan Chi kept looking around, finding it strange. There was no fire, so why was the room so pleasantly warm?

To help her Beast Husbands recover, she had set the temperature very high.

This allowed them to wear thin clothes under blankets, which was better for their wounds’ recovery.

"Big Brother, could you please watch them for a moment? I’m going to prepare some food for them."

"No need. You stay and watch them. I can take care of chores like this."

Bai Wanwan shook her head with a smile. "I also need to check on Zhu Xiu next door. You can just stay here."

With that, she turned and went next door.

Because Zhu Xiu needed to hibernate, she hadn’t put a heater in the room next door.

She had learned from Xin Feng that if a Snake Beastman entered hibernation, it was best not to wake him.

So, she kept the room at a low temperature, though it was still slightly warmer than the icy world outside.

Zhu Xiu was coiled up, his head buried within his coils, so she couldn’t see his face.

After confirming he was still doing well, she didn’t leave right away. Instead, she sat down cross-legged beside him.

Her hand stroked his tail rhythmically. "Zhu Xiu, let’s not leave just yet, okay? I want to settle the score with the Bear Clan myself!"
