Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 320: Can I Be Your Beast Husband?
Chapter 320: Chapter 320: Can I Be Your Beast Husband?
Jin Yi sat on the stone bed, the beast skin in his palm already twisted out of shape.
The firelight within the Witch Cave cast flickering shadows across his chiseled features. A storm of complex emotions churned in his golden eyes.
"Jin Yi, you need to think this through."
Jin Cang earnestly advised, "Don’t think the pain of separation is temporary. You need to ask yourself if you can bear seeing her only in memories for the rest of your life. For the next one or two hundred years, can you truly endure the agony of never seeing her again?"
The words of his Father Beast struck his heart like a heavy hammer.
The mere thought of it sent a sharp, stabbing pain radiating from his chest.
’Could he accept never seeing Wanwan again?’
’The answer was no!’
He flung aside the beast skin he had been clutching. The fear of losing her forever ignited a courage within him to break through any obstacle.
’He wanted her. He wanted to be with her forever!’
He scrambled to his feet too quickly, staggering as the movement pulled at his wounds.
He hissed in pain but didn’t stop, continuing toward the entrance of the Witch Cave.
"Jin Yi!" Jin Cang watched in astonishment as he stumbled toward the entrance. "Your wounds haven’t healed!" he called out urgently.
But Jin Yi couldn’t hear him. He only knew he had to catch up to that figure.
’Otherwise, he might lose her forever.’
"That boy!" Jin Cang exclaimed. "Wanwan is still in our tribe, she hasn’t run off! Can’t you just recover before you go after her?"
A moment ago, he had been worried his son would truly miss out on his beloved female.
But who would have thought? That boy was all or nothing. Once he made up his mind, he threw all caution to the wind.
Jin Yi had already plunged into the swirling snow.
The icy snowflakes pelted his face, and the biting cold of the snow under his bare feet only made him feel more awake.
In the distance, the familiar figure was just about to round a stone wall.
He immediately shouted her name, "Wanwan!"
His voice, hoarse from his severe injuries, was nearly swallowed by the wind and snow.
Afraid she hadn’t heard him, he pushed onward.
But Bai Wanwan, who was walking ahead, had heard him.
She slowly came to a stop and turned to look at him.
She saw Jin Yi, clad only in a thin beast skin, rushing barefoot through the snow, his pale face flushed with an unnatural fever.
"Wanwan, it looks like the Young Clan Leader has finally made up his mind."
Xin Feng sighed internally. He sighed for Jin Yi, who had finally seen the light. To receive Wanwan’s love was a tremendous blessing.
It simply meant that from now on, there would be one more male sharing Wanwan’s love and affection with them.
Bai Wanwan had already guessed why he’d come chasing after her.
"He just woke up from a serious injury. I can’t rest easy seeing him run out dressed like that. Let’s go back."
"Okay, I’ll go with you."
’Whatever Wanwan wanted to do, he would support her and stay by her side.’
Bai Wanwan squeezed his hand. "Then let’s hurry back. You’ve only just started to recover yourself; you can’t stay out in this snow for too long."
"Yes, alright."
Xin Feng squeezed her hand in return. ’As long as I have a place in her heart, it’s enough.’
The two quickly headed back, and Bai Wanwan caught Jin Yi, who was staggering toward them.
"Are you trying to get yourself killed? Your fever just broke, and you came rushing out like this."
Her tone was harsh, but her words were filled with concern.
She then placed a warm hand on his cheek.
Jin Yi’s breath caught. Her fingertips were warm and soft, carrying the faint, sweet scent that was uniquely hers.
His golden eyes stared at her unblinkingly, as if he wanted to carve her image into the depths of his soul.
"Wanwan..." He seized the hand on his cheek, his voice so quiet it was almost lost in the wind and snow. "I have something to tell you."
He no longer suppressed his feelings as he usually did. He stared at her intently, his eyes burning with a passion she had never seen before.
"Alright. Let’s go back to the Witch Cave first. The snow is coming down so hard, and both you and Xin Feng are only just starting to recover."
"Okay. I’ll listen to you."
When Jin Yi saw that she didn’t pull her hand away, his heart pounded even harder.
He held her hand tightly, as if to give her no chance to change her mind.
Bai Wanwan glanced at him, noticing a rare smile on his pale, handsome face.
A warmth spread through her heart, and she let him lead her back, his hand holding hers tightly.
Once they were inside the cave, Xin Feng tactfully suggested he would go deeper inside to rest and left them.
Jin Cang Clan Leader had already cleared out the Witch Cave’s outermost chamber, having shooed all the other beastmen and the Witch Doctor further inside.
He stared intently at the couple near the entrance, his eyes seemingly welling up with tears.
"Clan Leader," Jin Yue said with a sigh, "the Young Clan Leader will feel awkward if you keep staring."
"He doesn’t have time to worry about me now," Jin Cang said with a wave of his hand, refusing to budge.
As he spoke, he saw the two of them move even closer to each other.
"My boy has finally figured it out," Jin Cang said, so emotional he was on the verge of tears.
"I bet we’ll be preparing for a bonding ceremony before long. Remind me, what treasures do we have in the storerooms? When Jin Yi takes a partner, we’ll give them all to Wanwan..."
Jin Yue looked at the Clan Leader’s boundless excitement and thought to himself, ’The Young Clan Leader hasn’t even said anything yet, and the Clan Leader is already planning the ceremony.’
Jin Yue had barely finished his internal grumbling when he heard the Clan Leader continue, "Wanwan will surely give birth to several little lion cubs at once! And Wanwan’s cubs will be the cutest in the entire Golden Lion Tribe..."
"And one day, they’ll become the bravest and most skilled Young Clan Leaders of our Golden Lion Tribe..."
"It seems I should start preparing some cub-sized Beast Skin Skirts..."
Jin Yue really didn’t want to listen anymore...
Inside the cave, Bai Wanwan watched Jin Yi with a calm, unhurried gaze.
She could see his nervousness, but she was also worried he would suddenly change his mind.
She didn’t want to wait any longer; she needed to give him a little push.
So, after waiting a moment, she deliberately put on a serious expression. "Didn’t you have something to say? If you don’t say it soon, I’m leaving."
"Wanwan! Don’t go..."
Jin Yi grabbed her wrist, but in the next instant, Bai Wanwan used the momentum to turn and throw herself into his embrace, her arms naturally wrapping around his lean waist.
Her soft, sweetly-scented body filled his embrace.
Jin Yi went completely rigid, his breathing quickening.
"I’m listening. So, speak!" Bai Wanwan tilted her head back to look at him, her eyes brimming with a smile.
Jin Yi’s Adam’s apple bobbed convulsively.
He could feel his heart hammering wildly in his chest, the deafening beat threatening to drown out everything else.
A certainty was growing within him, so strong it allowed him to ignore everything else.
"Wanwan..." He lowered his gaze, his eyes seeming to trace every contour of her face.
"I love you!"
The wind and snow outside the cave seemed to freeze in that instant, and for a moment, Jin Yi’s voice was the only thing echoing in the world.
"I want to protect you and take care of you forever," Jin Yi said slowly, his eyes seeing nothing but her.
’She was the eternal light of his heart!’
"Will you... let me be your Beast Husband?"
Their eyes met, but Bai Wanwan didn’t answer right away.
As the seconds ticked by, Jin Yi’s lips slowly pressed into a thin line.
"Wanwan?" A hint of anxiety flashed across his face, and his arms around her tightened.
