Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Do You Like It?

He didn’t respond, just held her hand and refused to let go.

She could only treat his wounds one-handed, cleaning the inflamed gashes over and over.

Jin Yue stood at the doorway holding a basin of hot water, unsure whether to enter or retreat.

Jin Cang nodded at him. "Take it inside, and come right back out."

A dark glint flickered in Jin Cang’s wise eyes. Perhaps his son would find a blessing in disguise this time.

At this thought, a smile appeared on his face.

Jin Yue had no choice but to bite the bullet. He let out a deliberate cough before carrying the basin of hot water inside. "Bai Wanwan, the water is ready."

With that said, he quickly set down the wooden basin, turned, and fled as if a monster was hot on his heels.

Bai Wanwan eyed his retreating back with suspicion, but when she couldn’t figure anything out, she looked away.

Jin Yi was still gripping her hand tightly, preventing her from doing her work.

"Loosen your grip. I need to cool your fever."

But the male, in the grip of a high fever, just held on stubbornly, refusing to let go.

She had no choice but to pry his fingers open one by one.

After a monumental struggle, she finally managed to pry his fingers open and pull her wrist free.

In just that short moment, a red ring had already formed on her wrist.

"When you wake up, you can take a good look at the mark you’ve left on me."

Though she grumbled, her hands never stopped moving.

She took a towel from her System Space, wet it, and gently wrung it out.

She started by wiping his forehead.

After wiping his forehead and cheeks several times, she moved the cloth down his neck.

The warm towel glided over his chest, arms, and abdomen...

Her movements were gentle and meticulous, but when the towel accidentally brushed against a certain unspeakable part, Jin Yi let out a sudden, muffled groan.

Bai Wanwan’s hand froze, and her cheeks instantly began to burn. She quickly moved the towel, feigning composure as she wiped a different spot.

She had only been trying to cool down his inner thighs and hadn’t even touched the animal hide wrapped around his waist.

And yet, she had still managed to touch it by accident.

After one pass, she felt his skin. His temperature seemed to have dropped a little.

She quickly began a second round of cooling him down.

She repeated the same steps, focusing on his forehead, the sides of his neck, his armpits, and his inner thighs.

Over and over, she repeated the process tirelessly.

But the man’s occasional groans reached her ears, and even someone as thick-skinned as her couldn’t help but feel flustered.

She had discreetly glanced back earlier and saw that all the Beastmen had left the room. She just didn’t know if they could hear what was happening inside from out there.

’If they heard, they wouldn’t think I’m taking advantage of their Young Clan Leader, would they?’

’It would be impossible to explain.’

’I’d never be able to clear my name.’

In the end, she decided to just throw her hands up and stop thinking about it.

She focused wholeheartedly on bringing Jin Yi’s fever down.

Half an hour later, she could clearly feel that his scorching skin had cooled to warm, no longer burning to the touch.

Once the moisture on his skin dried, she applied the Extreme Effect Golden Sore Medicine she had previously exchanged for her Beast Husband.

She squeezed some out and applied it to his most serious wounds.

As for his other wounds, she only applied a layer of ordinary golden sore medicine.

By the time she finished all this, several hours had passed.

She hadn’t rested well the previous night, and the moment she relaxed, a wave of deep exhaustion washed over her.

She slumped over the side of the stone bed and fell asleep before she knew it.

She slept like the dead.

She didn’t know how long she had slept, but her consciousness was gradually returning.

In a daze, she sensed a searing gaze upon her.

Her eyes snapped open, and she found herself looking directly into Jin Yi’s deep, golden eyes.

He was awake, staring at her without blinking. A faint blush colored his pale cheeks.

"Ahem..."

He didn’t seem to expect her to wake up so suddenly. He averted his gaze, looking ill at ease, and asked in a low, raspy voice, "Why are you here?"

As the last of her grogginess faded, Bai Wanwan relaxed upon seeing it was him.

She stretched, a small smile playing on her lips. "Your high fever wouldn’t break, so the Clan Leader asked me to take care of you."

The room fell silent.

Bai Wanwan didn’t rush him. She just sat beside him, raising a hand to touch his forehead.

She could clearly feel that the skin beneath her palm had returned to a normal temperature.

Yet, she didn’t fail to notice the way the male’s skin tightened and his body went rigid.

Bai Wanwan’s expression remained impassive, but the corners of her mouth curved slightly.

Jin Yi only seemed to slowly calm down after she withdrew her hand.

When he turned back to look at her, his expression had regained its usual calm. "Thank you. I’m fine now."

Bai Wanwan remained silent, simply sitting on the stone stool with her arms crossed, her gaze quietly fixed on him.

"Jin Yi, is there something you want to say to me?"

Jin Yi looked up, his gaze meeting her beautiful eyes, and his breath hitched. "Thank you for saving me. If you ever need anything, you can always come to me."

"Is that all?" Bai Wanwan raised an eyebrow, still full of patience.

Jin Yi’s heart began to race uncontrollably, and the words caught in his throat.

A voice in his heart seemed to be urging him to speak.

But another voice held him back.

"Yes... that’s all."

Bai Wanwan watched him in silence for a moment before suddenly smiling. "Alright then. Since the Young Clan Leader has recovered, you should rest well. My Beast Husbands back home need me to take care of them, so I’ll be going."

With that, she turned and left without a moment’s hesitation.

Jin Yi instinctively reached out a hand, only to forcibly pull it back.

’He carried the future of the Golden Lion Clan on his shoulders, and Bai Wanwan... her party had no intention of staying.’

At that moment, he even forgot his own conviction about never sharing a female with other males.

Soon, he heard her speaking softly to her Beast Husband outside.

"Xin Feng, the Young Clan Leader has recovered. Let’s go home."

"Alright, let’s go."

Listening to their footsteps fade away, Jin Yi clutched the fur blanket, a conflicted look in his eyes.

Just as he was about to check on his son again, Jin Cang ran right into Bai Wanwan and Xin Feng.

"Wanwan, why are you out here?"

Jin Cang was a little surprised and quickly asked, "How is Jin Yi?"

Bai Wanwan smiled and replied, "Rest assured, Clan Leader. The Young Clan Leader’s high fever has subsided, and I’ve applied medicine to his wounds. As long as he takes care to rest, he’ll recover very soon."

Jin Cang let out an "Oh," then quickly said, "His injuries are very severe this time, it was extremely dangerous. Wanwan, can you stay a while longer to watch over him? I’m worried his fever might come back."

Bai Wanwan didn’t read too much into it. It was true that a poorly treated infection could easily cause a fever to return.

But she had been very meticulous in her treatment and had even used the Extreme Effect Golden Sore Medicine. With a Beastman’s powerful regenerative abilities, it was almost impossible for his fever to return.

"My two Beast Husbands are also injured back home. If the Young Clan Leader’s condition takes a turn, the Clan Leader can send someone to fetch me again."

Jin Cang knew he was imposing. Her Beast Husbands had been injured for the sake of his clan, after all.

He couldn’t bring himself to say any more to try and keep her. "Very well. I’ll have someone see you home."

After arranging for Jin Yue to escort Bai Wanwan back, Jin Cang sighed and turned to leave.

Returning to the Witch Cave and seeing Jin Yi, he couldn’t help but say, "Jin Yi, your Father Beast has done everything he can. Do you really not like Bai Wanwan?"
