Chapter 332: Chapter 332: Sudden Wealth

"I want to go somewhere that isn’t so cold,"

Bai Wanwan tugged at the beast hide she wore. "This snow season is too long. Being cooped up in the house all day, I feel like my bones are going to get moldy."

She had mahjong and poker to pass the time, but repeating the same games day after day made even the most interesting entertainment feel dull.

The cold wind howled outside, rattling the wooden windows and adding to the feeling of desolation.

"Alright. We’ll leave as soon as the snow stops. How about we go to the coast?"

"Yes! I love the sea."

They could decide on a final destination together once Zhu Xiu was done hibernating.

That evening, Jin Yi returned. Seeing her standing by the window and gazing outside, he came up and wrapped his arms around her from behind.

He tilted his head, mimicking her as he looked out. "What are you looking at?"

"I’m watching to see how long this snow will last."

Jin Yi chuckled softly. He placed a broad hand gently on her swollen belly, his fingertips lightly tracing its round curve.

The warmth of his breath on her ear dispelled some of the chill as he spoke.

"Has the food shortage been dealt with?" she asked softly, noticing his weary expression.

The potatoes they had distributed had temporarily eased the hunger of the Golden Lion Tribe’s Beastmen, but it was only a stopgap measure.

"It’s much better. The males go out hunting every day. The haul is small, but it’s better than nothing."

As the Young Clan Leader, Jin Yi’s schedule was always packed.

But no matter how busy he was, he would always rush back at high noon just to catch a glimpse of her, or return late at night to tiptoe in and place a chilly kiss on her forehead.

It was a rare moment of leisure, a chance to watch the snow with her.

"The blizzard is getting worse. You’ll catch a cold. Let’s go inside."

With so many cubs in the house, Xin Feng was busy nonstop, and even Yan Lie was constantly swamped by the little ones.

As Jin Yi helped her inside, his hand accidentally slipped and landed on her swollen belly.

He felt something kick his palm.

"Wanwan?"

He froze, staring at her belly in a daze.

Bai Wanwan smiled, took his hand, and pressed it gently against her stomach.

"Did you feel that?" she asked with a smile, feeling the powerful kick against his palm.

Jin Yi focused on the feeling, his face a mask of the nervousness and anxiety of a first-time Father Beast.

"Wanwan, I didn’t think...it would be so soon..."

His voice was low and raspy. "Before the rainy season, I never even dared to imagine becoming your mate. In just a few short weeks, you not only became my Wife, but you’re also carrying our cubs..."

It had all happened so fast, like a beautiful dream. Other Beastmen could be mated for a year and still not become a Father Beast, yet he was this fortunate.

Bai Wanwan leaned her head against his solid chest, listening to his racing heart. "The cubs will be born in a few days. I don’t think you’ll believe it’s real until you’re holding them in your arms yourself."

Gazing at her ever-reddening lips, Jin Yi couldn’t resist leaning down to give them a light peck. "This is my first time as a Father Beast. I don’t know anything... What should I prepare?"

Seeing him so nervous he was at a loss, Bai Wanwan couldn’t help but laugh. "Relax. Just ask Xin Feng and the others when you have a free moment in the next day or two."

Xin Feng and Zhu Xiu were old hands at this by now, but Yan Lie, on the other hand, still often found himself in a fluster.

A wave of warmth washed over Bai Wanwan as she remembered how carefully they had held the cubs when they first became fathers.

As her due date neared, her three Beast Husbands took turns hovering around her.

Jin Yi, in particular, had set aside most of his duties.

Now, he only went out for half the day, rushing back to stay by her side before dusk.

His golden eyes were always filled with worry, and he would ask countless times a day, "Wanwan, how are you feeling today? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?"

Having given birth multiple times before, Bai Wanwan wasn’t nervous at all. In fact, it was Jin Yi’s behavior—as if he were facing a great enemy—that she found both amusing and touching.

"I feel great," she said, reaching up to smooth his furrowed brow. "You, on the other hand, are wound tighter than a fully drawn bowstring. Relax a little. The cubs and I are fine."

Xin Feng walked over and patted Jin Yi’s tense shoulder. "Wanwan’s labors are always smooth. You don’t need to worry so much."

However, when Bai Wanwan suddenly cried out, "Ouch!" the three Beast Husbands forgot all their previous reassurances, each one more nervous than the last.

Jin Yi completely lost his composure. Seeing her body arch in pain, his face went pale. "I—I’ll go get the Clan Witch!"

"Stop!"

Xin Feng took a deep breath, forcing himself to remain calm.

He shot forward, blocking the doorway. "Wanwan’s situation is special. The Clan Witch can’t find out."

Jin Yi’s eyes were red with panic, and his voice cracked. "The clan elders all say childbirth is incredibly dangerous! How can we proceed without the Clan Witch here to oversee things?"

Xin Feng understood his frantic worry.

But Wanwan’s safety could not be compromised.

"Trust me. I’ve been with Wanwan through several births. She’s not like other females."

As the two argued, a weak call came from inside the room. "Jin Yi... come stay with me..."

Hearing her cry out for him, Jin Yi rushed into the inner room without a moment’s hesitation.

He saw her outstretched hand and crossed the room in two strides to grasp it tightly, his own palm slick with cold sweat. "Does it hurt?"

Her face was flushed, but his was pale, his features twisted in a pained grimace. One would think he was the one in agony.

Bai Wanwan quickly shook her head. "With you here... it doesn’t hurt as much..."

Jin Yi bent to gently kiss her forehead, but just then, Bai Wanwan felt a sudden roiling in her belly.

She instinctively tightened her grip on Jin Yi’s hand.

Jin Yi’s body went rigid, his eyes filled with unconcealed worry.

But there was nothing he could do except hold her hand tightly, silently offering her strength.

Soon, Bai Wanwan felt something slip out of her body.

Then, the quiet room was filled with the WHIMPERING of several tiny lion cubs.

"Congratulations, Host, for giving birth to one Orange Rank male cub, one superior-fertility female cub, and two Yellow Rank cubs. Total reward: one hundred and twenty thousand Points."

Bai Wanwan was nearly knocked senseless by this sudden, overwhelming fortune.

’I’ve had so many litters this past year, and the Points were always just barely enough,’ she thought. ’I’d only just started to build a surplus, and now I’ve been hit with a hundred and twenty thousand Points all at once.’

Bai Wanwan was overjoyed, but Jin Yi was even more ecstatic.

Seeing that she had safely delivered four cubs, he finally let out the breath he’d been holding, and the color returned to his deathly pale face.

"Wanwan, look. Our cubs."

His face was already handsome, but now, overcome with immense joy, the corners of his eyes crinkled with an intoxicating smile that made him look even more stunning.

Bai Wanwan’s gaze slid from his face down to the cubs cradled in his hands.

The cubs weren’t even half the size of their Father Beast’s palm. Their fine golden fur hadn’t fully grown in yet, and their eyes were only half-open, giving them a very sleepy look.

They were so adorable that Bai Wanwan couldn’t resist kissing each of them on the head.

The little cubs seemed to catch their Mother’s scent. Their cute little noses twitched, and they let out low whimpers, wriggling their heads around to find her...

After soothing the cubs, she secretly opened her system panel.

The corners of her mouth turned up in an unconscious smile when she saw the balance: 135,600.

’Finally,’ she thought, ’I don’t have to worry about Points anymore!’

When Jin Cang Clan Leader arrived, rushing through the blizzard, snowflakes still glittered on his golden mane.

The Clan Leader burst through the door, rubbing his hands together impatiently. "Wanwan, let me see the cubs!"

His face beaming with the joy of a new Father Beast, Jin Yi carefully presented the cubs to his father.

Jin Cang Clan Leader took the tiny cub with trembling hands, but as he assessed the cub’s Talent, he froze. His voice cracked. "Th-this is..."

"Father Beast," Jin Yi’s voice swelled with pride. "This is an Orange Rank cub."

"Orange Rank!"

Jin Cang staggered, nearly collapsing from the astonishing news. Fortunately, Jin Yi caught him in time.

He gazed at the weak, golden cub in his palm, tears welling up in his usually wise eyes. "The future of the Golden Lion Clan... there’s hope now..."
