Chapter 365: Chapter 365: Roiling Giant Waves

Chou Rong instinctively tried to pull his hand away, but Wanwan gripped it even tighter. "Come on, hurry!"

Chou Rong had never seen this side of Wanwan.

Even when they had mated in the Cat Clan Tribe and she had become pregnant with his cubs.

But she had always refused to admit it. Not only had she deliberately misled him to quell his suspicions, but she had also secretly given birth to the cubs, planning to take them away.

If he hadn’t found his cubs in the snow, he might have gone his entire life without knowing he and Wanwan even had a litter together.

His gaze bored into the back of Wanwan’s head as if it were a physical thing.

Wanwan soon noticed it, and a chill ran down the back of her neck.

She immediately turned to look at him.

Chou Rong’s features were sharply defined, and his eyes held an intimidating aura that warned others not to cross him.

For a moment, she actually felt like backing down.

’It feels like he could snap my neck at any second.’

’But then again, he’s my Beast Husband. If he wanted to snap my neck, why would he have bothered moving me to a new place?’

’Perhaps this is just his natural disposition; he’s not trying to scare me on purpose.’

Lost in their own thoughts, they walked into the room together.

Yin Ze watched the door close. Uneasy about this location, he turned to patrol the surrounding area and check if any other Beastmen had followed them.

Inside the room, Chou Rong stared at Wanwan without a word.

Being stared at like that, Wanwan was actually a little intimidated.

"Didn’t we agree yesterday that you wouldn’t be angry? Are you still mad at me?"

Chou Rong’s ink-black eyes held a dark glint. "And what if I am?"

"Then I’ll just keep pestering you until you’re not angry anymore."

Steeling herself, she walked up to him, once again trying her old trick of standing on her toes to kiss him.

This time, however, she didn’t succeed. Chou Rong grabbed her arm, preventing her from getting any closer.

A hint of a temper flared on Wanwan’s pretty face. "If you won’t let me pester you, then tell me, how am I supposed to win you over?"

Chou Rong scoffed. "Is that all the patience you have?"

Wanwan immediately deflated, her temper fizzling out. "You won’t let me win you over, and I feel like I’m putting on a one-woman show here. It’s frustrating."

’Since he’s my Beast Husband, I should try my best to express my feelings.’

’I can’t just keep bottling things up.’

’I lost my memory, but it’s not like I wanted to.’

’Besides, I’ve been trying to appease him ever since I got back.’

’But this male is so ungrateful, and he’s still acting so cold.’

’If I didn’t find this intensity of his so attractive, I’d be done with this.’

Chou Rong didn’t continue the conversation. Instead, he strode toward the nearby stone table.

After sitting down, he saw Wanwan was still standing in the same spot. "Come here. Let’s talk sitting down."

Wanwan pressed her lips together and slowly approached him.

She stopped pestering him. "What do you want to say? But let me make one thing clear: I didn’t forget you on purpose. I have amnesia, and I’m terrified myself. If it weren’t for Yin Ze and his sister taking me in, I don’t know where I would have ended up."

"You don’t remember anything at all?"

After hearing her explanation, the coldness in Chou Rong’s eyes dissipated slightly.

"Yes, I don’t remember any of it."

She lowered her eyes, not daring to tell the truth.

’The truth is, I remember four faces, but none of them are his.’

’If it weren’t for our cubs serving as proof, I wouldn’t believe he was my Beast Husband either.’

’It’s so strange. Why can’t I remember him?’

"It’s okay that you don’t remember. It will all come back to you eventually."

Wanwan sensed his attitude softening and felt a flicker of happiness.

She shifted her position slightly, planning to "accidentally" fall into his arms.

But as she slid off the stool, she slipped and landed right on her behind.

"Oof..."

She let out a soft hiss of pain. When she tried to move, it hurt even more.

She looked up and met Chou Rong’s dark, brooding eyes.

They stared at each other for a moment before Wanwan pouted. "Aren’t you going to help me up?"

She felt a pang of sadness. He was her Beast Husband, after all.

But from the way he was acting, it seemed he didn’t care about her much at all.

Even Yin Ze treated her better than he did.

She wasn’t one to suffer in silence, and her thoughts were quickly conveyed through her eyes.

Chou Rong hadn’t intended to help her, but when she looked at him with that expression...

He was reminded of their little female Cat Cub.

When she first shifted into her humanoid form, she looked exactly like Wanwan—just a miniature version.

’She is the Mother of my cubs, after all...’

He bent down, lifted her from the floor, and carried her step by step toward the stone bed inside.

Seeing that he wasn’t completely heartless, Wanwan’s mood finally improved a little.

"Are you really my Beast Husband?"

Chou Rong’s steps faltered. He glanced down at her. "And what if I said I wasn’t?"

Wanwan snorted. "You’re just taking advantage of my amnesia to mess with me, aren’t you?"

Chou Rong chuckled softly but said nothing more.

He bent down, placed her on the bed, and let go, preparing to straighten up.

But Wanwan’s stubborn streak kicked in. ’If he’s my male, then his heart had better belong to me.’

’And he has to love me very, very much.’

She threw her arms and legs around him, trying to pull him down onto the bed, but she had overestimated her own strength and underestimated Chou Rong’s.

Even with a female clinging to him, Chou Rong straightened up effortlessly.

In the blink of an eye, the tables had turned, with Wanwan now hanging from his body, clinging to him tightly with all four limbs.

"Wanwan, what are you trying to do now?"

Since things had already gone this far, Wanwan simply leaned in and gave his ear a light nibble.

"What do you think?"

Chou Rong raised his hands, gripping her by the waist and hips to pull her away.

But Wanwan anticipated his move and hugged him even tighter.

"Get down."

"No."

With that, her lips trailed down from the base of his ear.

Chou Rong’s breathing hitched, losing its usual steady rhythm.

Wanwan noticed, and a smile played on her lips.

Growing bolder, she rested her fingers on his shoulder and began to trail them playfully over his back, the base of his ear, and his neck, stoking the flames.

Chou Rong wasn’t a Beastman driven by lust. In all these years, he had only ever mated that one time with Wanwan.

Afterward, he had managed to keep his desires in check.

But he never expected that with just a few playful teases from Wanwan, his blood would begin to boil.

A dangerous light ignited in his eyes.

Oblivious, Wanwan finished her teasing and raised an eyebrow, looking for his reaction.

What she saw, however, was a pair of terrifying eyes.

His once distant, cold black eyes now swirled like dark vortexes.

Wanwan realized she might have started a fire that was a little too big.

Just then, Chou Rong’s grip on her waist and hips loosened slightly, and she slid down a fraction.

Her arms and legs tightened around him instantly.

And then... she felt a certain, undeniable presence.

Her cheeks flushed hot. She looked up at the male, but his expression hadn’t changed a bit. Only his eyes, like a raging sea, were fixed upon her.
