The males who were building the house returned under the cover of night, only to find the home unusually quiet.

Zhu Xiu’s expression changed, and he quickly walked inside.

Yin Mei was just coming out of the house, wanting to check on the wolf cub again, when she bumped into her younger brother returning from outside.

"You’re back?" Yin Mei grabbed her brother’s arm. "Something happened at home today. The wolf cub was attacked and hasn’t woken up yet."

Hearing this, Yin Ze didn’t have time to reply to Yin Mei and hurried into the house after Zhu Xiu.

The moment the males entered the house, they sensed something was wrong.

Bai Wanwan and Xin Feng were standing to the side. On the stone bed lay the wolf cub, covered in wounds and looking utterly miserable.

"What happened?"

Chou Rong walked to the side of the stone bed and looked down at the wolf cub.

’This is the Tiger Clan under my rule, not the wilderness. How could something so serious happen?’

After listening, Chou Rong turned to face her. "I will investigate this matter thoroughly and see that justice is done for you and Xin Feng."

But Bai Wanwan shook her head at him. "As the Clan Leader, it wouldn’t be right for you to get involved. I want to solve this myself."

’If Chou Rong gets involved and shows too much favoritism toward us, it will cause resentment among the other Beastmen.’

She wasn’t going to let this go. She would use her own methods to get revenge for the wolf cub.

After hearing this, Chou Rong looked at the silent Xin Feng next to her. "Do you feel the same way?"

"Yes. Wanwan wants to get even for the wolf cub in her own way, and so do I."

Chou Rong understood the feelings of a Father Beast. If his tiger cub were injured like this, he too would cast aside his status as Clan Leader and handle it his own way.

"Since you’ve decided, then do as you see fit. If you run into any problems you can’t solve, I will help you."

Earlier in the day, she had asked Xin Feng. It was possible to find the Beastmen who hurt the cub by tracking the scent on him, but the Tiger Clan was a Super Tribe. Searching like that would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

She had been thinking that since the wolf cub had used the Extreme Effect Golden Sore Medicine, he would probably recover a lot after a night’s sleep.

As soon as she finished speaking, Zhu Xiu had already transformed into his human form and was walking by her side.

Zhu Xiu tore his eyes away and looked at the closed door. "Yes. This is the place."

Bai Wanwan stared at the closed door, her eyes practically shooting fire.

"Should we go in?" Zhu Xiu’s expression was calm. Even though there were four Yellow Rank Males inside, if Wanwan said the word, he would eliminate these Beastmen for her without hesitation.

Bai Wanwan seemed to know what he was thinking. She reached out, grabbed his arm, and shook her head. "No rush. They hurt my cub. Letting them get taken out so quietly would be getting off too easy."

Bai Wanwan memorized the location of the stone house and said with restraint, "Zhu Xiu, let’s go back first."

"You’re sure you don’t want to go in?"

Zhu Xiu stared at her face, as if trying to read her expression.

"Yes, I’m sure. Let’s go home."

In the end, Zhu Xiu accompanied Bai Wanwan back to their temporary residence.

As she entered the house, she heard the wolf cub’s voice and immediately let go of Zhu Xiu’s hand, rushing inside.

Zhu Xiu watched her run off, paused for a moment, and then followed close behind.

Inside the house, Xin Feng was feeding meat to the wolf cub.

He seemed ravenous, gobbling down the food. While eating, he asked in a muffled voice, "Father Beast, when is Mama coming back?"

"Soon. She’ll be back once you’ve eaten your fill."

As soon as he finished speaking, Bai Wanwan walked in through the door.

She hurried over to the wolf cub and gathered him into her arms. "My good boy, does it still hurt?"

The wolf cub wasn’t one to show weakness. He held back the pain and shook his head. "Mama, it doesn’t hurt. Don’t worry about me."

Tears welled up in Bai Wanwan’s eyes. ’How could it not hurt when he’s injured so badly?’

But she didn’t expose the cub’s lie, only holding him gently. "Mama will kiss it better..."

The wolf cub greedily took in the sweet scent and warmth of his Mother’s embrace.

He was growing up. His Mother’s embrace now belonged exclusively to his younger brothers and sisters, and he hadn’t fought with them for it in a long time.

But at this moment, he still longed for his Mother to hold him a little longer.

Bai Wanwan held him, burying her face in his fur where the cub couldn’t see her expression.
