Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 585 - 582: In Disbelief
Chapter 585: Chapter 582: In Disbelief
Without any hesitation, she reached out and gently caressed Hua Han’s face, which was flushed and hot from his struggles and stained with dirt.
Hua Han, who had been frantic and restless, constantly trying to bite, suddenly went rigid the moment her fingertips touched his skin.
His murky, scarlet eyes stared intently at Bai Wanwan’s face, and his ferocious, twisted expression seemed to soften bit by bit. Though a sound still rumbled in his throat, the aggressive growls had weakened considerably, even taking on a faint, almost imperceptible, whimper-like tone.
A complex mix of emotions swelled in Bai Wanwan’s heart, a tangle of sorrow and warmth.
She knew that even with his mind completely consumed by Dark Energy, a part of Hua Han, deep in his subconscious, still recognized her. He still instinctively refused to harm her.
She gently stroked his sweat-damp hair, her voice so soft it was like a gentle stream. "Don’t be afraid, Hua Han... It’s okay. I’ll have you back to normal in just a moment. Just hold on a little longer."
As if soothed by the one he trusted most, Hua Han’s tense body relaxed further. The sounds from his throat faded away, leaving only heavy panting. Although his gaze was still vacant, his aggression had diminished significantly.
Without further delay, Bai Wanwan opened her system panel and quickly navigated to the potions tab.
She had browsed it many times before, so she knew that a potion to break control was much cheaper than one to lift the Dark Curse.
A single dose cost only five thousand Points, and ten milliliters were enough to reverse the condition.
But at five thousand Points per Beastman, the number of them she could help was very limited.
She sighed. Just as she was about to hit the redeem button, the system’s voice suddenly rang out.
"Host," the system’s voice prompted at just the right moment, "if you require a large quantity of this potion, I recommend purchasing the bulk version. It is more cost-effective."
"Where’s the bulk version?" Bai Wanwan asked quickly. She had looked before but hadn’t seen it.
"Please scroll down. There’s a new category for ’Purification Potion (Bulk).’"
Bai Wanwan did as instructed and, sure enough, she found a 500-milliliter bottle of the potion. It cost only twenty thousand Points!
Without hesitation, she immediately redeemed the bulk version.
A heavy crystal bottle appeared in her hand, shimmering with a soft, purifying light.
Following the system’s dosage instructions, she carefully poured out 10 milliliters. Then, she gestured for Zhu Xiu to hold Hua Han’s head steady while she personally and slowly poured the potion into his mouth.
The entire time, Xin Feng, Yan Lie, and Zhu Xiu stood in a tight circle around Bai Wanwan. Their muscles were tense, and their eyes were fixed on Hua Han, ready for any unexpected problems.
「Time passed in silence.」
After a long while, Hua Han’s previously vacant eyes began to tremble violently. The cloudy film over them receded bit by bit, like an ebbing tide.
A familiar clarity, tinged with confusion and bewilderment, gradually returned, relighting his handsome, almond-shaped eyes.
"Wan... Wan..." His voice was painfully dry and hoarse, like a broken bellows.
Then, he realized he was tightly bound. As his memories flooded back, he was nearly drowned by an immense wave of guilt and self-blame. "I... I lost control again? Did I hurt any of you? I..."
"No! You didn’t hurt anyone!"
Bai Wanwan cut him off, a relieved smile blooming on her face, though her eyes couldn’t help but turn a little red. "Zhu Xiu and the others restrained you in time. And... look, you’ve already recovered. The Dark Energy that was controlling you has been purged. You’ll never have to worry about it controlling you again."
Hua Han stared at her in disbelief. He focused on his own mind; though exhausted, it felt incredibly clear. The cold, restless agitation that had followed him like a shadow was truly gone.
Xin Feng stepped forward and easily sliced through the tough leather bindings with his claws.
The moment the ropes came loose, Hua Han sat up, reached out his long arms, and pulled Bai Wanwan into a tight embrace. He buried his face against her torso, his voice muffled and thick with lingering fear and gratitude. "Wanwan... I made you worry again..."
Bai Wanwan leaned in, hugging his trembling body in return. She patted his back gently, her tone light with relief but also filled with her usual warmth and acceptance. "Well, you are my Beast Husband. If I don’t worry about you, who should I worry about?"
A fierce tremor shot through Hua Han’s heart, followed by an unshakeable resolve.
’From this day forward, my life is completely and utterly hers. Forever.’
He couldn’t bear to let go, wishing he could hold her like this until the end of time.
But Bai Wanwan gently patted his shoulder. "Hua Han," she said softly, "you need to rest and recover for a bit. There are still many controlled Beastmen outside. I have to go over to the caves first. I’ll come back to see you later, alright?"
Though he was reluctant to let her go, Hua Han knew that pressing matters took priority. The entire tribe was at risk.
In the end, he slowly loosened his grip, his voice low and full of affection. "Alright. I’ll wait for you to come back."
Bai Wanwan gazed at his pale face, still feeling a pang of worry.
Before leaving, she made a point to instruct Yin Ze. "Yin Ze, take good care of him here. If anything seems wrong, send someone to get me immediately."
"Alright, I’ll keep a close eye on him."
With Yin Ze’s promise, she left the stone house with Zhu Xiu, Xin Feng, and Yan Lie.
The closer they got to the holding area, the thicker the air became with a palpable frenzy.
The Beastmen, corrupted by Dark Energy, let out hoarse roars. Their eyes were bloodshot, their fangs bared. They had long since lost all reason.
These Beastmen wouldn’t show her the slightest tenderness as Hua Han had. They were now merely puppets controlled by darkness—crazed and dangerous.
As they reached the entrance, Zhu Xiu extended a sturdy arm, pulling her protectively to his side.
Seeing this, Yan Lie came closer. "Wanwan, give the potion to us. We’ll go feed them."
He and Zhu Xiu were in agreement. Those Beastmen were far too dangerous; they weren’t going to let Wanwan put herself at risk.
These men weren’t Hua Han; there was no need for Bai Wanwan to administer the potion personally.
"Alright."
She quickly retrieved the potion from her System Space and carefully explained the dosage to Yan Lie and Xin Feng. "Three drops per person. Use it sparingly, don’t give them any more than that."
Once the two of them understood, she handed over the bottle.
Yan Lie and Xin Feng moved with speed and precision, prying open the crazed Beastmen’s mouths one by one and dripping the potion inside.
As the potion slid down their throats, the agonized roars in the cave gradually subsided, replaced by heavy panting and confused murmurs.
Once all the Beastmen had regained their senses, Zhu Xiu stepped forward at the opportune moment. His steady voice echoed through the cave. "You were controlled by Dark Energy. It was my Wife, the Holy Female Bai Wanwan, who saved you. From this day forward, your lives belong to her. I need you to swear an oath to the Beast God to protect her with your very lives."
While under control, these Beastmen had drifted in and out of lucidity. They clearly remembered hurting their own kin, and the inner torment had already wasted them away to skin and bone.
Hearing Zhu Xiu’s words, they looked up in disbelief.
"Is... is what you’re saying true?"
