Chapter 68: Chapter 68: You’re Unwilling?

Bai Wanwan sat on Zhu Xiu’s enormous beast form. It felt like riding a high-speed train as they flew across the desolate plains.

Before long, the surrounding temperature plummeted. Bai Wanwan hugged her cubs tighter and shivered.

"For certain reasons, the Wandering Beast City has no snow season. Out here, it’ll be at least another thirty days until the warm season arrives."

’He has to find a place suitable for a female to live as soon as possible.’

Gradually, snow began to cover the ground. The farther they went, the thicker the snow became.

But Zhu Xiu’s beast form was unaffected, continuing to glide swiftly over the snow.

Bai Wanwan was also thinking about her own future. She had been in the Beast World for two months now and had witnessed its cruelty.

’If I want to live a comfortable life, I have to accumulate more Points and make use of the system.’

"Zhu Xiu, I want to go to a Super Tribe. Will you go?"

’The Super Tribes have the most powerful males in the Beast World. I can go there and pick one I like.’

"It’s the snow season now, so we can’t go anywhere. Even after the warm season starts, it will take at least a hundred days of travel to reach the nearest Super Tribe."

’That far?’

As a modern person, she was used to high-tech transportation.

She had guessed the Super Tribes would be far away, but she never imagined it would take a hundred days to travel there!

"Let’s find a place to wait out the snow season first."

The moment Zhu Xiu finished speaking, a commotion suddenly erupted from the snowy ground ahead.

Kicked-up snow filled the air, nearly obscuring the entire path before them.

Bai Wanwan’s grip on Zhu Xiu tightened. Noticing this, he turned his head to reassure her. "Don’t worry. It’s just a few Wandering Beasts."

Zhu Xiu’s words soothed Bai Wanwan’s heart. Just then, the Wandering Beastmen charged up to them.

The snow slowly settled, revealing the figures of the Wandering Beastmen, now in their humanoid forms.

Shi Sen stared at Zhu Xiu with a sinister gaze. "You’re the one who took the Holy Female? Are you betraying the Wandering Beast City?"

"It’s not a betrayal. I never belonged to the Wandering Beast City in the first place," Zhu Xiu said calmly.

Shi Sen glared at him viciously. "I told the City Lord long ago that you never sincerely submitted to the Wandering Beast City, but he didn’t believe me. Now I’ve finally caught you, haven’t I? Hand over the Holy Female!"

Zhu Xiu gave a cold smile. "You alone aren’t enough to make me hand her over."

Shi Sen flew into a rage. "Zhu Xiu, you’re always opposing me! Today, I’ll tear you apart! Go!"

As he spoke, Shi Sen began to channel his Talent Power, only to find that none of the males around him had moved. In fact, they had even taken a few steps back.

Noticing this, Shi Sen turned and roared, "Anyone who retreats further will be permanently exiled from the Wandering Beast City!"

Wandering Beastmen were already outcasts, rejected by every tribe. The only place that accepted them was the Wandering Beast City.

If they were exiled from the Wandering Beast City, there would be no place for them on the entire Beast World Continent.

The Wandering Beasts glanced at one another, but in the end, they channeled their Talent Power alongside Shi Sen and launched an attack on Zhu Xiu.

The long tail wrapped around Bai Wanwan gradually loosened. Zhu Xiu turned his head. "Stand aside and wait for me."

His tone was steady, as if he wasn’t worried at all.

Bai Wanwan clutched her cubs and slowly backed away, but she still urged, "There are a lot of them. Be careful."

Hearing her warning, he glanced sideways and revealed a faint smile. "Don’t worry. They can’t hurt me."

’Zhu Xiu smiled?’

She had known him for some time now, but she had never seen him smile.

When he didn’t smile, he was like a glacial snowfield. When he did, it was like the first snow melting...

Bai Wanwan wanted to get a closer look to see if he was really smiling.

But he had already turned back, his long tail whipping out violently.

To Bai Wanwan’s eyes, all she could see was a series of afterimages.

Shi Sen didn’t retreat. Empowered by his Talent Power, his body swelled to several times its normal size, looming like a small mountain.

Just as the King Cobra’s tail was about to strike him, he raised his arm and brought it crashing down.

Bai Wanwan stood outside the battlefield, watching as countless clouds of snow were kicked up.

The cubs were squealing nonstop in the basket. Bai Wanwan quickly reached in and pushed their little heads back down.

By the time she looked up again, the battle was nearly over.

Five or six Wandering Beastmen were already on the ground, spitting up blood.

Only Shi Sen and two other Wandering Beasts were left, putting up a desperate fight.

"Zhu Xiu, what are you doing?! If you kill me, Yin Da will never let you..."

Before Shi Sen could finish, the King Cobra bit him on the neck.

A massive dose of venom was injected instantly. Bai Wanwan saw Shi Sen’s face turn a deathly pale, then quickly blacken...

He stared at Zhu Xiu with wide, disbelieving eyes. Even as his body hit the ground and he lost consciousness, his unblinking gaze remained fixed on him.

After swiftly dealing with the other two Wandering Beasts, Zhu Xiu glided over to Bai Wanwan, coiling his long tail to lift her and the cubs back onto his back.

"Are you hurt?"

"No. They can’t hurt me."

Bai Wanwan looked him over from head to tail. Seeing no obvious injuries, she breathed a sigh of relief before turning to look back at Shi Sen and the other Wandering Beastmen.

"Is Shi Sen dead?"

’That was Third Leader Shi Sen, so arrogant just a few days ago. And Zhu Xiu killed him with a single bite, just like that?’

"Yes. The other Wandering Beasts won’t die, but Shi Sen is a dead man."

Bai Wanwan tore her gaze away from Shi Sen’s blackened face, shaking her head and clucking her tongue. "How tragic."

Then, she stroked his long tail and sighed, "I’ll never dare to provoke you, of all people."

The gliding Zhu Xiu twisted his massive head, his crimson eyes staring at her.

Bai Wanwan’s heart skipped a beat. "Don’t look at me like that. It’s scary."

"You’re different from him. I won’t bite you."

Hearing this, the corners of Bai Wanwan’s mouth curled up slightly. "How am I different?"

Zhu Xiu abruptly stopped gliding and turned his head to face her directly. "Bai Wanwan, do you remember what you said to me before?"

Bai Wanwan’s eyes darted around as she asked with a grin, "I’ve said a lot of things. I wonder which you’re referring to?"

After she said this, she clearly felt a chilling glint appear in the King Cobra’s eyes.

As her small eyes met his enormous ones, Bai Wanwan felt a chill creep up her neck.

’He’s not going to eat me in one bite, is he?’

She quickly changed her tune. "I remember, I remember."

"Remember what? Say it again."

"Ahem..."

The situation was different now. Making her say it again felt like a confession.

But facing his crimson eyes, she was afraid that if she didn’t say it, he really would swallow her whole.

"I said... I wanted you to be my Beast Husband?"

The King Cobra’s eyes didn’t even twitch as he stared at her. "And?"

Bai Wanwan racked her brain, trying to remember what grand promises she had made to win him over back then.

"That I’d bear you a nest of cubs?"

"Yes. That you would mate with me and bear me a nest of cubs. Bai Wanwan, I’ll agree to mate with you, but I must be your first Beast Husband."

Although Bai Wanwan was a transmigrator, she possessed the original owner’s memories.

The first Beast Husband was equivalent to the principal wife in ancient times, a symbol of status among the males in the family.

She hadn’t really thought about this before. As far as she was concerned, she would treat all her Beast Husbands equally and had no intention of making any particular male the first.

Zhu Xiu took Bai Wanwan’s silence as unwillingness.

The crimson in his eyes deepened. "You’re not willing?"
