"It should have calmed down by now." Chu Xiu thought silently to himself.

A few minutes ago, after completely withdrawing his consciousness, he lost control over his body.

There was no choice; the suction force was too strong. If he didn’t completely seal himself off, even his Divine Soul might be torn apart.

However, he could feel that the suction force, which wanted to devour even his Divine Soul, seemed to gradually weaken and eventually maintained a constant value that he could barely withstand.

"Luckily, I’ve cultivated the Fighting Spirit; if it were only the fierce soul focused on combat from the Yama Scripture, my Divine Soul might have been completely absorbed by the Star Core by now..."

The more Chu Xiu thought about it, the more terrified he became. What had he cultivated amidst this chance coincidence?

With a sigh, Chu Xiu soon calmed his mind.

Danger always coexists with opportunity. The Star Core that almost took his life might also turn into a great opportunity.

Without giving it more thought, Chu Xiu cautiously extended some Divine Thought.

Instantly, he felt the suction tugging at his Divine Thought. Although the suction was much smaller than before, it still made Chu Xiu dare not extend his Divine Thought too far; he merely conducted a simple investigation of his body’s state.

Then he discovered....

"No way, it really drained me dry, huh?"

At this point, all the energy in his body was plundered away. After losing this energy, only the "foundation" of the body remained, looking somewhat like a kind of stone.

This startled Chu Xiu, but after careful inspection, he was slightly relieved.

As long as the energy was replenished, his body could return to normal.

"I still have to regain control of the body first."

With this thought, Chu Xiu began redistributing his thoughts throughout his body.

In this process, he remained highly focused; if the Star Core showed any signs of disturbance, he would immediately retract all thoughts.

But fortunately, the Star Core seemed to have reached some sort of balance and was no longer as frantic as before.

About a quarter-hour later, Chu Xiu regained a sense of his body, and the Fighting Spirit, through Divine Thought, infused Spiritual Power into his body. It was like a drought meeting a rainstorm; each cell of Chu Xiu greedily absorbed the Spiritual Power and swiftly restored its basic functions.

This is the powerful Life Force of a High Tier Awakened! In the Inheritance Hall, there is even a record of an Innate Divine Demon, whose body was severed and floated in the Cosmos for four million years, but revived once the Spiritual Power was replenished.

And just as the body’s functions recovered, Chu Xiu heard voices of conversation sounded not far from him.

"What, turns out it’s just a stone sculpture? I told you, how could an ordinary corpse create such a large hole in Trash Mountain."

This was the voice of a middle-aged man.

"Uncle Sun, is this thing worth money?"

This was a crisp voice of a young girl.

"Well... I can’t say. I’ve lived in this junkyard for thirty years and have never seen such a strange thing. Old Li, how about you? You used to live in the city, do you recognize this thing?"

"A sculpture, isn’t it? Who wouldn’t recognize that?"

"Nonsense, of course, I know it’s a sculpture! I asked you if it’s valuable!"

"Hey, although I lived in the city, I was just a bottom-tier laborer, otherwise, could I have fallen here? Which of those things like sculpture, painting, music, all stuff they called art, isn’t something only the masters in the investigation team get to touch?"

"So, what you’re saying is it’s very valuable!" Old Sun’s voice suddenly went up, and the girl also let out a suppressed cry.

"Probably..."

"What do you mean probably?" Old Sun was dissatisfied.

"Probably means probably! I’m not an appraiser! This sculpture looks pretty real, but I’ve heard about those masters in the investigation team—they can turn people into stone. If this thing was made from a living person, then it’s worthless!"

"Ah..."

Old Li’s words caused Old Sun and the girl to both emit sounds of disappointment.

In any aspect, this statue was too lifelike, so lifelike that the two had almost subconsciously accepted that no one could carve such a work.

"Hey, don’t give up so quickly..." Feeling he said something wrong, Old Li added, "I’ve also heard that those turned to stone could be smashed to pieces in front of everyone as a deterrent; the stones outside, flesh and blood inside, one hammer and the innards flow like dumpling filling. What’s more disgusting is that skin where flesh and stone meet, with stone fibers like dried frog skin, pus flowing from the joints...."

"Hey, why are you telling such gross stuff? Bai Yu is still young!"

"Uncle Sun, I’m fourteen years old, already an adult!"

"Still young!"

"...Anyway, my point is, since those petrified people can be smashed with a hammer, they should be very fragile, right? But look at this... sculpture, it fell from such a height without any damage, maybe it’s carved from some kind of rare meteorite!"

Old Li’s words made Old Sun and Bai Yu both fall into thought; after a while, they reached a consensus.

No matter what, let’s first get this large thing out!

"Bai Yu, you’re strong; this task is assigned to you."

"Uncle Sun, if I could move it, would I still call you guys?"

"...you heartless little girl."

Amid a clamorous noise, Chu Xiu felt something was wrapped around him, and then a strong force came, pulling him outward.
