Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era
Chapter 1035
Rasputin has been following him for the past two years, calling him “Venerable Lord” with such reverence that it was almost sycophantic. Although Chu Xiu knew well that Rasputin was just biding his time and waiting for the right moment, he couldn’t help but feel slightly amused at the thought.
Of course, he also realized that Rasputin wouldn’t pass up such a good opportunity, so he wasn’t too concerned. Instead, he prioritized checking whether any of his other items were missing.
After conducting an inventory, he found that Rasputin had only taken away five Blood Demons’ bodies and some restorative artifacts, leaving the truly valuable items untouched.
Chu Xiu thought about it for a moment and understood the reasoning.
This guy truly lived up to being a monster who had survived countless years—he had a keen understanding of the situation. Even though he didn’t know about the abnormal changes within Chu Xiu’s body, he could still sense that Chu Xiu’s aura remained strong.
Thus, from Rasputin’s perspective, Chu Xiu had only temporarily lost consciousness due to the King of Bronze’s attack. His essential life force was still strong.
But as a Heroic Spirit, Rasputin couldn’t break through Chu Xiu’s physical defenses even if Chu Xiu was unconscious, so the only action he could take was to flee.
As for Chu Xiu’s equipment, its effectiveness would be greatly reduced for Rasputin, who wasn’t of the Human Race, and few items could aid his escape.
Even if chased down, what use would having more Myth artifacts be? With a single thought, Chu Xiu could kill him!
More importantly, Rasputin didn’t know the specifics of Chu Xiu’s condition or when he would awaken.
Upon discovering his belongings were taken, Chu Xiu’s first action after waking up would be to pursue Rasputin relentlessly.
And if by chance Rasputin hadn’t escaped the control range before Chu Xiu woke up, Chu Xiu might even command Rasputin to commit suicide the instant he awoke, fearing the loss of all his belongings.
But now, since Rasputin hadn’t taken anything, the situation was different.
Those Blood Demons’ corpses were originally meant for Rasputin to use for tier advancement. For Chu Xiu, if he can recapture Rasputin, it would mean regaining a powerful ally. Even if Rasputin manages to escape, the loss is equivalent to that of him committing suicide, so Chu Xiu wouldn’t make any extreme decisions based on this rationale.
“Rasputin probably wouldn’t have anticipated the Star Core within me, something beyond reason. In his estimation, given my life tier, I should awaken within one to two minutes even if severely injured, which is why he made such a choice.”
Who would have thought that Chu Xiu’s retreat into isolation would last half the day, and even now, he has no capability of pursuing Rasputin? Even if the other truly plundered all his wealth, he could only stand idly by.
However, he also wasn’t anxious.
“Rasputin doesn’t have the ability to traverse space, nor is it possible for him to flee within the Abyss Space without being torn apart by spatial turbulence.”
“So, there’s a high probability that he’s still on this planet.”
Chu Xiu carefully tried to sense, and indeed he could vaguely perceive Rasputin’s presence, but the sensation was so faint that he couldn’t even determine the direction.
“Strange, my perception shouldn’t be this blurry. Could it be that he’s already off this planet?”
Yet Chu Xiu quickly dismissed this thought, finding that it wasn’t the distance causing the blurry perception but rather that his connection with Rasputin was weakened by some means.
Chu Xiu squinted, having a realization.
“Ashtar had warned me not to let Rasputin escape my control; otherwise, he would employ measures to weaken my control.”
“He must have done something when I sent him out of Peng City with my parents and away from the Black Death Prison.”
Chu Xiu had foreseen this possibility but was indeed helpless at the time. Surely he couldn’t leave his parents in the city?
Chu Xiu couldn’t help but marvel again at these old monsters who have lived thousands of years; truly, they’re the epitome of schemers and ruthless decision-makers who can seize fleeting opportunities and carve a path out of despair.
“Let him continue to absorb the Blood Demons’ corpses. Without my Perfect Refining assistance, this process would still take three or four years.”
“When that time comes, just treat it as if he’s cultivating elsewhere.”
“However, it can’t be dragged on for too long. From Red Swan and the others’ conversations, it seems there are forces from outer space in this world. This implies a method exists to leave this realm.”
Chu Xiu contemplated for a moment and decided to focus on his own cultivation, as it’s fundamental. After all, Rasputin is external aid; even if he truly manages to escape, it wouldn’t matter too much.
Thinking this, Chu Xiu ceased to worry and prepared to patiently study and research his cultivation technique.
Just at that moment, something caught his attention, prompting a soft “huh” of interest.
In the Spirit and Flesh Storage Pouch, a figure could be seen cautiously poking its head from the crevice.
That figure was entirely sky blue, with the appearance of a four or five-year-old child.
“A boy?”
Chu Xiu was a bit surprised; this figure was the very creature he discovered within the God’s core! It was also the only living thing inside the Spirit and Flesh Storage Pouch!
This entity was nurtured by the God’s remains and must possess incredible abilities. However, at the time, Chu Xiu was focused on preparing for the decisive battle with Ashtar, so he paid no heed.
In the past month, this entity had been absorbing flesh energy within the Spirit and Flesh Storage Pouch and had grown from an infant into the appearance of a four or five-year-old child.
Chu Xiu frowned, casting his gaze around. Actually, there were still plenty of reserves within the Spirit and Flesh Storage Pouch. Although he didn’t collect the Blood Demon Army’s flesh in its entirety, he did refine and gather the premium flesh energy of the Super Large Blood Sea Giants using the Light Saber when slaying them. Blue Boy shouldn’t worry about sustenance.
