Chapter 75: Incredible.

"We don’t have time for this." Osborne said.

Clawdeth looked at him.

Osborne glanced deeper into the tunnel.

"It’s obvious the Baron is the one in charge." He said.

There were still too many unanswered questions after all.

For some, The missing townsfolk, particularly The children.

Why were they being turned into Werewolves, moreover, what was the deal with these tunnels beneath the estate.

And now Vanessa had mentioned someone else who was apparently involved in whatever was happening here.

If they remained here arguing with Vanessa, they would only waste time.

Osborne looked back at Clawdeth.

"Handle her." He said.

Clawdeth raised an eyebrow.

"What would you like me to do?"

" We’re short on time, so this time." Osborne’s gaze shifted toward Vanessa.

"You’re free to kill her." He said calmly.

Vanessa’s expression instantly darkened.

"What...?" She uttered in a heavy tone.

Neither of them responded to her.

Vanessa’s eyes twitched.

"They dare..." She muttered, gnashing her teeth.

Her fists clenched tight, making popping sounds.

"Ignore, me?"

She was standing right there. Yet the two of them were talking as though she wasn’t even worth their attention.

"You useless things think you have the right to look down on me?" A powerful aura suddenly erupted from her body.

The air itself seemed to tremble. Her beautiful face twisted as her body began to change.

Her bones cracked.

Her arms growing larger, Fingers stretching into sharp claws.

White fur rapidly covered her body, spreading across her skin as her muscles expanded.

Her clothes tore apart under the pressure of her transformation.

Not to mention her body, which continued growing until she stood more than three meters tall.

A massive white werewolf now stood before them.

Her beautiful eyes had become fierce and animalistic, while her sharp fangs were fully exposed.

" You’ll pay dearly for that insolence!!"

"Die!" Vanessa lunged forward.

Her massive claws tore through the air as she charged toward Osborne and Clawdeth.

The distance between them disappeared in an instant.

Her claws were only inches away from their bodies.

Clawdeth calmly nodded.

"As you wish."

The next moment—

BOOM!!!

Vanessa was sent flying. Her massive body shot through the tunnel like a cannonball.

She smashed through the darkness before slamming heavily against the stone wall.

BAM!!!

The impact shook the entire tunnel.

Cracks spread across the wall around her body.

Vanessa’s head hung for a moment.

Blood dripped from the corner of her mouth.

"Cough!"

She coughed violently, a mouthful of blood spilling onto the ground.

Her head was ringing.

Her entire body felt as though it had been struck by a mountain.

’What the hell was that?’ Vanessa slowly lifted her head.

Her vision blurry.

She could barely make out the shape of someone walking toward her.

A silhouette.

Two glowing golden eyes stared through the darkness.

Stepping forward ever so calmly.

The sound echoing throughout the cold tunnel.

With every step Clawdeth took, Vanessa’s heart trembled.

The sound of her footsteps seemed to grow louder in the silence.

Vanessa’s breathing became heavier.

’How...’ she wondered.

She couldn’t understand what had happened.

One moment she was attacking them. The next, she was flying through the tunnel.

She had barely even seen Clawdeth move.

’How could someone this strong come here?’

Vanessa’s eyes widened.

She no doubt believed the beast woman Infront of her was strong.

The realization sent another chill through her body.

’ Even Father might not be able to defeat her.’

That thought alone made Vanessa’s heart race.

Her father was powerful.

Far more powerful than her or her brother, even while they were alphas as well, his strength always came out on top.

Yet the woman walking toward her had just sent her flying with a single attack. Something he wasn’t capable of doing.

Vanessa tried to pull herself out of the wall.

Her hands pressed against the cracked stone.

She forced her body forward.

"Cough!" Only for more blood to come out.

Pain spread throughout her entire body.

Her legs trembled.

Her arms felt weak.

She couldn’t even stand properly.

’Damn it...’

Vanessa gritted her teeth.

’What is this?’ she’d never once felt pain for this long in a very long time, after all, her annoying healing factor always helped patch her up quickly.

’ Why isn’t it working?!’ she began to panic.

Then she realized something.

The pain wasn’t simply from the impact. Something was moving throughout her body.

Her healing factor was trying to repair the damage, but it was struggling.

’ It’s her aura...’ Vanessa’s eyes widened.

With that one blow, Her opponent had sent her raging aura into her body.

That explained everything.

The moment Clawdeth had struck her, her aura had entered Vanessa’s body.

It wasn’t simply damaging her flesh but interfering with her ability to heal.

’To think she can make use of aura in such a way.’ Vanessa clenched her teeth.

’ That nasty aura of hers, keeps disrupting my healing factor.’

’ At this rate I won’t be able to move much less retaliate!’ Vanessa looked up again.

She had never expected this.

She had thought that Clawdeth was merely an annoying beastwoman who happened to possess some decent strength.

But this was different.

This wasn’t someone she could simply overpower.

Clawdeth stopped directly in front of her.

Vanessa slowly raised her head.

The difference in their positions made the scene almost laughable.

The massive white werewolf was covered in blood, struggling to remain conscious.

While Clawdeth stood before her without showing the slightest sign of fatigue.

Vanessa coughed.

A faint smile appeared on her furry face.

"I thought I was the monster..." She said, Her voice was weak.

"But it turns out..." She looked at Clawdeth, a self mocking look on her face.

"...the real one was hiding in plain sight all along." She said before her vision began to darken.

The last thing Vanessa saw was Clawdeth standing before her. Then everything went black.

Her body went limp.

Clawdeth stared down at her. For a moment, she remained silent.

Then she raised her arm.

Her claws gleamed under the faint light before being clenched into a fist.

She was about to deliver another blow.

"That’s enough." When Osborne’s voice came from behind her.

Clawdeth’s fist stopped just before they reached Vanessa.

Her expression turned displeased.

She slowly looked over her shoulder.

Osborne was standing several meters away.

"Don’t kill her."

Clawdeth frowned.

"You told me I could kill her."

"I changed my mind." Clawdeth remained silent.

Osborne walked toward them.

"You’ve done more than enough."

Clawdeth lowered her hand.

"As you wish." She stepped aside.

Osborne looked down at Vanessa.

He couldn’t help but laugh inwardly.

’ I didn’t expect her to end things that quickly.’

He had expected Clawdeth to defeat Vanessa.

After all, he already knew that she was strong.

But seeing her completely overwhelm Vanessa in a single exchange was something else.

’I really am short-sighted sometimes.’ Osborne shook his head inwardly.

Of course she had to be this strong.

His eyes lingered on Clawdeth for a moment.

She was once one of Roseline’s hidden blades afterall.

That was something very few people in the kingdom knew.

The head of the Roosevelt household had several people working under her.

They were called her hidden blades.

To most people, they were simply highly skilled warriors who served the Roosevelt family from the shadows.

Their identities were rarely spoken about.

Even among nobles, only a select few knew that they existed.

But the truth was somewhat different.

They weren’t simply people Roseline had hired.

They were people she had personally taught.

Students she had trained and brought up herself.

They had learned from one of the strongest Aura users in the kingdom.

That alone explained why Clawdeth’s combat ability was so different from what Osborne had initially expected.

Guinevere and Natalie were also among them.

Osborne’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He had already seen enough of their abilities to understand that they weren’t ordinary warriors either.

Regard who the other hidden blades were.

That question remained unanswered.

Roseline had apparently trained several people.

Yet Osborne had only met a few of them.

As for how many they were.

Osborne didn’t know.

And that thought made him even more curious.

He looked down at Vanessa.

There was still plenty he wanted to ask her.

Who was her father really working with?

What was the purpose of the children?

And how many people were involved in this operation?

Killing Vanessa would answer none of those questions.

Osborne crouched down.

He grabbed the unconscious werewolf by the arm.

Clawdeth watched him.

She didn’t say anything.

Osborne’s demonic heart reacted faintly to the presence of Vanessa. But this time he managed to reel in the urge to absorb her demonic essence.

There was no mistaking it.

She was a demon.

And she was far more valuable alive than dead.

Without saying anything else, Osborne tossed her into his sub space.

Her massive body disappeared into thin air.

Clawdeth’s eyes faltered for a moment.

’ He did it again...’ she thought, the first time she saw him do it to the beta, she was taken aback, wondering to herself where he could’ve gotten a spatial item.

In the end, she attributed it to something he must’ve gotten during his journey to the both, just like the strange dagger she hadn’t seen in awhile.

"We should check all the tunnels before heading back."

" We can’t leave out the possibility that there might be more here left uncovered.

Clawdeth nodded. " As you wish."

The two continued deeper into the underground passage.
