Annie flew through the sky like a bolt of lightning, even after that battle her esper pool had barely dropped.

To be fair that could be barely be considered a fight, she had trapped him in an illusion the first time he attacked.

Everything that happened after was an illusion she constructed, even his own weapons were an illusion.

As for how she knew about them and their effects, she took that knowledge from his mind.

When he figured out he was in an illusion he wanted to use the Eye of Osiris and he thought about.

So she constructed it, when he wanted to use the plasma cannon, he thought about it as well, she constructed it.

To be fair, even if he did use the real Eye of Osiris, he had no chance of escaping from her illusion.

She flew across the entire continent to a port town, the moment she got there she caught a strong scent of death.

The entire town had turned into a graveyard with corpses littering the street, all having died gruesomely.

She sighed, ’ Pestilence is quite merciless isn’t it.’ She descended to the roof of the tallest building.

There she met two people waiting for her both looking pale as if they were in excruciating pain.

" What happened here?" Annie asked, Adrian raised his eyes and looked at her.

" We met Pestilence." He answered.

----------------------------------------------------

Half an hour ago.

Sanchez had left the realm beyond the mist and went back to the human world through the pack’s proper channel.

The pack had two anchors leading to the human world, both leading to isolated islands.

From there she took a ship to the mainland but as soon as she reached the port she realised something was wrong.

Nobody was there to receive them and the ship captain and crew hired by the pack started coughing.

In minutes they were already coughing blood and 20 minutes later, the first person died.

’ Pestilence.’ Sanchez immediately figured that out, ’ I need to report this to Adrian.’ Just as she was about to use the pack call.

She felt a presence behind her, she turned and saw a pale woman in a nurse outfit standing behind her.

’ When did she get here?’ Sanchez watched this woman warily. She was ready to transform at any moment.

" I thought I smelled chaos, it’s very diluted but you do indeed have chaos inside you, strange.

Are you a fragment of..no no no, it can’t be you, you must’ve been created by the heart of destruction.

Are they also the one who took down my sibling? There’s no other explanation, not many can stand before us and live.

It must be it but why, we are bound to that one so why would the heart of destruction oppose us?

Mmmm, strange strange strange, perhaps the eldest would know, no wait the eldest has not been released yet.

Should I go back to purgatory and ask? No, they would be mad, I should cause as much death as possible.

That way I can break his seal faster, no no no, war, war must come out first, I like war, they lead to more Pestilence."

The nurse started talking to herself but Sanchez figured who she was from her muttering.

’ This is bad, I have no means to deal with Pestilence, and what’s this chaos she’s talking about? I need to get out of here.’

’ Adrian, come to Hillville, Pestilence is standing right in front of me.’ Sanchez sent a pack call.

" Adrian? Is that its name in this genesis? What a human sounding name, I liked its first name more."

Sanchez raised her eyebrow, " What on earth are you blabbering about?" She asked.

The nurse or rather Pestilence finally turned towards Sanchez, " It seems you don’t know the origin of your master.

No matter, it won’t be long before all 12 are let lose now, you’ll know soon enough." Pestilence answered.

Sanchez could tell Pestilence had no interest in answering but she needed to buy time.

" How about you explain it to me? Or perhaps you yourself does not know?" She tried to goad her to answering.

" There aren’t many things I don’t know, do you know what we are? The 12 seals? What our origin is?" Pestilence asked.

This interested Sanchez, " I don’t know, I was under the impression you were creations of the devil." She answered.

" Creations? Not quite, we are manifestations of concepts, the 7 sins and four horsemen.

Explaining everything would take too long but we weren’t created, not like the other creatures in existence.

No, we manifested at some point, when the first mortals came to be, the first every flowed creations of God.

The first to desire leading to sin, the first to feel hunger giving birth to my sibling, the first to get sick leading to my birth, this is how we came to be." Said Pestilence.

" You seem quite talkative for a horseman, Famine was more quiet even to his death." Mocked Sanchez.

" Famine is more somber indeed, they disdain the idea of communication itself and view it as an art of lowly beings.

They are famine, they do not do talk, they do not deal, they are they and they is all they are."

" You just said a bunch of nothing there, still doesn’t explain why you talk so much, what makes you so different?" Sanchez asked.

" I admire you, mortals I mean, you who have the privilege to experience what sickness feels like.

You who can feel the beauty of Pestilence, I am Pestilence yet I am forever cursed to never feel my own greatness.

Do you know how that feels, it’s infuriating, I could return to my true self like my sibling but why.

I do not see you mortals as lesser and it would be foolish to think so, indeed yoy are flawed and fragile little things.

But that fragility of yours is why we came to be is it not, your flaws are the greatest thing about you, I envy you so.

As for why I talk, it’s because it’s rare, in my attempt to mimic your flaws I have adapted to your feelings as well.

I bet bored, my siblings are..not very talkative and mortals rarely live long enough for me to speak when they’re in my presence.

Even those who do live, they’re in too much agony to talk to me, the boredom of it all is agonising.

I hate this feeling but it reminds me I’m alive, that I am me and not just a concept of Pestilence, therefore I love it, contradictory wouldn’t you say?"

Sanchez started coughing up blood, Pestilence sighed, " It seems you won’t last much longer either, pity, I enjoyed our conversation."

Then she looked up and met silver glowing eyes glaring at her with the coldness of an eternal winter.

Adrian appeared behind Pestilence and went for the neck, just as his teeth were about to bite her.

She exploded, blood and body pieces splattered on him and the entire ship. " She’s gone?"

Adrian couldn’t sense her anywhere.
