Chapter 333: Meeting Once Again (1)

Adrian had both underestimated and overestimated Pestilence. She was strong, incredibly so.

And at the same time very weak, it was her diseases that were a threat but if you can get through them.

Defeating her would not be as hard, Adrian realised that soon after, his body grew countless tumours.

He growled and continued lunging at her even as his silver fur turned dull and fell off, even as his teeth rotted and turned to dust.

His blood boiled as tumours grew and exploded with puss all over his body, he became so emaciated his skin stuck firmly to his bones.

All diseases one can think of attacked him all at once, his mind sunk into oblivion and he felt himself losing his memories.

Soon after the lines between reality and illusion were blurred as his brain tumours consumed his brain.

His esper surged like a wave destroying everything it touched, the tumours disappeared.

The viruses and bacteria died and the decaying organs regenerated, his muscles grew back like a balloon.

Oxygen flowed through his blood once again as his hearts and lungs started working again.

All of this happened in less than two seconds, the pain came all at him at once like a tsunami.

Even for one as strong as him, the shock froze his mind for a moment and he entered a coma.

It lasted for merely a fraction of a second but for people with their power, a mere fraction of a second was enough time.

By the time he came to, Pestilence was already standing in front of him reaching for his forehead with her paw hand.

Adrian’s instincts screamed at him that being touched by that hand would bring more pain than he’s felt so far.

’ So be it.’ He knew they didn’t have time and retreating was not an option. He activated his left eye.

’ She’s not using any ability.’ That realisation shook him, ’ She’s directly manipulating her authority.’

Of all the seals he’s met, she was the first he saw directly manipulating their authority without an external ability.

Famine did not use any abilities but their authority was passive, they didn’t need to do anything.

The sins and bloody Mary used abilities for specific and targeted effects, although those abilities drew power from the authority.

They were still abilities, their patterns were less complicated and therefore he could potentially cancel them.

But Pestilence was not using any ability at all, everything that happened to him was her using her authority.

He gritted his teeth and lunged at her even faster, at level 8 his base speed could already approach that of lightning.

Nearly 1/3 the speed of light but when he went all out, he could even reach 1/2 the speed of light.

It might not sound like much but it was a huge difference, Adrian’s body basically vanished.

His aura seemed to suppress the world around him making it such he didn’t cause any sonic booms in his path.

Pestilence’s hand touched his chest and his body went cold then extremely hot, in a split moment he felt as if he was dropped into the sun’s core.

He got a fever so hot the air around him burnt, his head felt like it was splitting into a thousand pieces.

But he didn’t stop, even as strength left his body he still did not stop, even as he lost consciousness he still not stop.

To be honest, Adrian could no longer explain why he was fighting so hard, why he was willing to bear so much pain for this.

’ Strange? It’s not like I care if Pestilence destroys the world, is it because she can possibly kill the pack? Perhaps.’

He came to that conclusion and went with it, he grabbed her arm with his left and delivered a palm strike to her chest.

She flew back like a bolt of lightning and broke through the barrier he’d created, her fragile body exploded into a shower of blood and meat mid air.

Annie landed next to him, " Are you okay?" She asked in an anxious voice. He nodded, she sighed with relief.

" It seems you destroyed her host, we need to hunt her down again, it will harder this time since she knows we have the magic to bind her." Said Annie.

She was about to take off when he grabbed her shoulder and brought her back down. " Let’s watch first." Said Adrian.

Pestilence’s host’s body pieces flew back together along with the blood and merged back into her full form.

Pestilence looked at herself and sighed, " This is troublesome." She whispered then disappeared before they could say anything.

" She’s....gone." whispered Annie.

" It’s fine, she’s bound to her host, I have the scent of her authority, she’s not getting away."

He grabbed Annie and they teleported across Alguard chasing after her and finding her was not hard.

Everywhere she went she left sickness and death even if she didn’t want to, which she obviously did.

Her authority like Famine’s covered both the world of Humans and Alguard making people sick.

But it wasn’t anything severe, it couldn’t create what isn’t there only make what’s there much stronger.

Still, both denizens of both worlds were able to hold on for now but when she came personally things changed.

Her authority was the strongest around her and she was a walking disease club. " We need to find her soon." Said Annie.

It had only been less than 2 hours since they started chasing after but already they were seeing a third large city of corpses.

Passively, her authority was even weaker than that of Famine but when she wanted to kill.

Pestilence was more dangerous and it showed, " It doesn’t appear she’s here." He sniffed the air.

Her authority still lingered but it was just a lingering scent as strong as it was, it was nothing to the real deal.

They teleported and appeared above a human city but this time, the entire city was surrounded by a barrier.

Sitting on top of a glass skyscraper was a woman about their age with long golden hair and glowing golden eyes.

Pestilence was floating above the city but it didn’t seem like her choice. Five golden swords impaled her body.

A type of energy Adrian couldn’t recognise was flowing inside her from the swords. Pestilence sighed as soon as Adrian appeared.

Then she smiled and looked down at the golden woman. " It seems this Genesis will be more interesting, I can’t wait."

Adrian shoved the potion through her chest and watched her body disintegrating into particles.
