Chapter 718: Chapter 718: Treasure Map

Shu Feng flipped through a book on the principles of the Summoning Technique. ’I can’t just summon the Light Flame God or other Divine-level Powerhouses who might expose my identity. That only leaves Qingyan.’

"Paul!!"

Just then, a voice called out nearby, and a beautiful young woman walked toward Shu Feng.

"Who are you?"

Shu Feng glanced at the beautiful young woman, his brow furrowing slightly.

The young woman replied, "I’m Celine, a student in your year."

Shu Feng asked, "What do you want with me?"

Celine gritted her teeth. "I wish to obtain your protection, and a Magic Potion that can change my Magic Talent."

In the Gulondo World, Magic Talent was extremely important. Naturally, there were many Magic Potions that could alter it. Of course, any Magic Potion capable of changing one’s Magic Talent was invariably among the most precious, far beyond the reach of any ordinary person.

A hint of ridicule flashed in Shu Feng’s eyes as he spoke coolly, "And why should I protect you, let alone give you such a precious Magic Potion?"

Celine gritted her teeth. "I can sign a contract to serve you for a hundred years!"

"I’m sorry," Shu Feng said indifferently, "but you aren’t worth as much as you think you are."

Celine was, admittedly, a very striking young woman. However, in the top-tier slave markets, a beauty of her caliber could be bought for a mere ten or twenty thousand Gold Coins. In contrast, a single bottle of a Magic Potion that could alter a person’s Magic Talent cost more than ten High-level Magic Stones. Moreover, only someone with Shu Feng’s status as a Direct Disciple of a Legendary Mage was qualified to purchase one.

Even if Celine had the money, she could never have purchased such a precious Magic Potion from the Seven-Day Tower.

Celine clenched her jaw. "I have a Treasure Map that leads to Pirate King Andesaru’s treasure. If you agree to protect me, I’ll give it to you!"

Hearing this, Shu Feng’s eyes lit up. "A Treasure Map to Pirate King Andesaru’s treasure?"

Pirate King Andesaru had also been a human Legendary Mage who possessed the Legendary Level warship, the Giant Monster Battleship. A century ago, he dominated the seas, defeating the navies of the great Empires one by one and forcing their fleets to remain in port, too afraid to set sail.

At the height of his power, the oceans were filled with ships flying the Pirate King’s flag. Even the great sea merchants were forced to pay tribute to Pirate King Andesaru.

Pirate King Andesaru ran rampant across the Five Seas for decades before suddenly disappearing for unknown reasons. The pirate empire he had built instantly collapsed, its remnants hunted down by the nations’ navies. They suffered heavy casualties and were no longer a significant force.

Pirates had a habit of hiding their wealth on remote islands. Legend had it that Pirate King Andesaru also left behind a treasure. Hidden within that treasure was his magical legacy; whoever found it would gain the resources needed to become a Legendary Mage.

After all, Pirate King Andesaru had been one of the most powerful Legendary Mages. On the open ocean, virtually no one short of a Divine Spirit could defeat him.

Shu Feng’s brow furrowed slightly. "How did you come to have his Treasure Map?" he asked curiously.

Celine explained, "Although I don’t have any Magic Talent, I do possess a few mysterious abilities. I used one of them to find this Treasure Map at a second-hand market."

Unlike Blue Star, the Gulondo World didn’t have many people who had awakened a Spiritual Ability. However, quite a few individuals still possessed Special Abilities. The only difference was that their abilities weren’t part of a system, so they couldn’t continuously strengthen them the way Spiritualists on Blue Star could.

"The Treasure Map," Shu Feng said flatly. "Let me see it. If it’s real, I’ll protect you and give you a Magic Potion to change your Magic Talent."

Only then did Celine let out a sigh of relief. She carefully retrieved a very old and ordinary-looking piece of parchment from her clothes and handed it to Shu Feng. "This is the Treasure Map. You have to scorch it with a Flame for the real map to appear."

Shu Feng took the Treasure Map and snapped his fingers. A ball of Flame materialized and began to slowly scorch the parchment.

As the Flame touched it, the Treasure Map flashed with countless points of light. A mysterious sea chart, blooming with a brilliant radiance, materialized before Shu Feng’s eyes.

Shu Feng’s eyes widened as he sensed the map’s extraordinary nature. "Impressive! This map might actually be the real Treasure Map of Pirate King Andesaru!"

"Very good! Celine, as per our agreement, I will protect you. I will also get you a Magic Potion to enhance your Magic Talent. Here is the Contract Book binding you to my service for one hundred years. Sign it."

Shu Feng handed Celine a Contract Book he had written out on the spot.

The Contract Books prepared by Mages were different from ordinary agreements; they were imbued with mysterious and unfathomable power. Signing one would inscribe a mysterious spell upon the signatory’s very soul. Anyone who violated the contract would suffer a powerful backlash.

That was why most people would never lightly sign a Magic Contract with a Mage. Of course, the Gulondo World was home to countless strange forms of Magic, and there were people and Secret Treasures capable of evading a contract’s backlash—but Celine had no such means.

Celine’s eyes lit up, and she quickly signed her name.

"This is a Magic Potion I concocted, the Tears of Awakening. Take it and drink it, and you will awaken your Magic Talent. Of course, it will generally only awaken a Lower or Middle Class Magic Talent."

"As long as you serve me well, I will naturally grant you higher-level Magic Potions in the future to improve your Magic Talent."

With a flip of his hand, Shu Feng placed a Crystal Bottle into Celine’s grasp.

’It actually worked! I actually got a Magic Potion to awaken my Magic Talent!’

Celine clutched the bottle of Magic Potion, a dazed look in her eyes. She quickly and carefully put it away. She had thought she would have to serve Shu Feng for years before earning such a precious item, never imagining she would receive it so easily.

"Is there anything else?" Shu Feng asked coolly. "If not, you can go. Don’t disturb my reading."

"Yes, Sir!"

A trace of respect flickered in Celine’s eyes as she quickly departed from the library.

"Celine, there you are! Have you thought about Boss Ambor’s proposal?"

Celine had just left the library when three young men approached her. One of them, a rather ugly man with a long face covered in pockmarks, grinned as he spoke.

The most handsome of the three, a young man with a distinguished air, watched Celine like a beautiful piece of prey, though his face wore a gentlemanly smile.

A portly man among the three added, "Celine, Boss Ambor made the best offer. Just agree to be his woman, and you can stay in the Seven-Day Tower for these four years without anyone daring to bother you. Otherwise, I’m afraid you won’t even last a year here."
