Chapter 722: Chapter 722: Undercurrent

Inside the general store, flashes of mysterious light formed a hidden Barrier, completely concealing the shop.

A murderous glint flashed in the Nine-Night Crow Pope’s eyes as he asked coldly, "Who are you?"

The young man smiled faintly. "Your Holiness, I am White Wolf. I may not be your match, but if you attack me, you’ll surely destroy this stronghold. Those monsters from the Sun God Church’s inquisition will definitely come after you. That wouldn’t be good for either of us."

The Nine-Night Crow Pope said coldly, "White Wolf, what do you want with me?"

White Wolf smiled faintly. "I wish to form an alliance with you for a grand undertaking."

At first, the Nine-Night Crow Pope sneered silently. But eventually, his expression shifted, and he began to negotiate with White Wolf.

The Platinum Manor in Holy Flame City served as the lodging for the many magic academies.

「Evening.」

"Hello, is this Master Paul’s room?"

A knock sounded at the door of a villa.

"Come in!"

The villa’s main door swung open, and Shu Feng’s voice came from within.

A young man with blond hair, blue eyes, and a tall frame walked in. He was dressed in a silver-white suit, and his handsome features gave him a likable air.

"I am Kalei, the seventeenth Prince of the Fiery Sun Empire. Are you Master Paul?"

Upon entering the villa, Kalei saw Shu Feng sitting on a sofa. He approached and asked with perfect courtesy.

Shu Feng said, "I am Paul. Please, have a seat."

"Thank you."

Kalei sat down across from Shu Feng.

Kalei said, "Master Paul, to become a Great Mage in less than half a year... your Talent is truly Extraordinary. With such gifts, it’s only a matter of time before you advance to the Legend rank."

Shu Feng said plainly, "Prince Kalei, if you have something to say, just say it."

"Very well, Master Paul, I’ll be direct. I want you to become my supporter and help me become the next Emperor of the Fiery Sun Empire."

"If you help me become the next Emperor of the Fiery Sun Empire, then on the day I ascend the throne, I will name you National Preceptor. I will mobilize the resources of the entire Empire to help you become a Legendary Mage on par with the Demigod Level!"

Prince Kalei’s eyes burned with fervor as he spoke.

In the Gulondo World, a Legendary Mage was comparable to a Blue Star Spirit Saint. The strength of the most powerful Legendary Mages, however, ranged from the Peak of Spirit Saint to a Demigod.

The Fiery Sun Empire has a National Preceptor, who is typically a Legendary Mage at the Demigod Level. They assist His Majesty the Emperor. Once that Emperor passes away, they depart, either to wander the world or to venture directly into the Void Demon Realm, seeking a path to greater power.

Many Legendary Mages within the Fiery Sun Empire coveted the position of National Preceptor. This way, they could gain the Empire’s full backing and advance to become a Legendary Mage of the Demigod Level.

"I’m not interested."

Shu Feng refused without hesitation.

’Paul’s wish was to help someone build a vast Empire from scratch. Prince Kalei, being a Prince of the Fiery Sun Empire, didn’t fit that goal.’

A look of regret flashed in Prince Kalei’s eyes. "What a shame. However, Master Paul, I would still like to work with you. I hope to purchase large quantities of Magic Potions from you."

Shu Feng said, "Alright."

Prince Kalei and Shu Feng discussed the details of their arrangement for a while longer before the prince finally left the villa.

The Holy Flame Grand Arena was a colossal arena in the heart of Holy Flame City, capable of seating one hundred thousand people. It was also the traditional venue for the Fiery Sun Empire’s magic exchange meets.

’So many people!’

As Shu Feng stepped into the Holy Flame Grand Arena through a contestant’s tunnel, he saw that it was a veritable sea of people, with not an empty seat in sight.

On a raised dais in the Holy Flame Grand Arena sat the leadership of the major magic academies. Master Mo An was seated prominently among them.

"Master Mo An, is that young man Paul? The Direct Disciple of Adisio Great Mage?" asked Master Dino of the Heart of Bai Que, narrowing his eyes. He was a bald, middle-aged man clad in a white Mage’s Robe.

Master Mo An replied, "That’s right."

Master Dino continued, "For him to be able to compete, his cultivation must have reached the Realm of Great Mage! I’m not wrong, am I?"

Master Mo An smiled proudly. "Correct."

Master Dino sighed faintly. "To reach the Realm of Great Mage in just half a year... that young man’s Talent is terrifying. If he doesn’t meet an untimely end, he’s certain to become our peer one day."

At this, the expression of Emil Great Mage from the Fiery Sun Royal Magic Academy, a man who always wore a gentle smile, shifted slightly.

’He reached the Realm of Great Mage in just half a year!!’

’That kid surpassed me in only half a year of training!! The Seven-Day Tower is just too powerful!’

"..."

Below the three Legendary Mages, the hearts of the supervising instructors from the other magic academies were in turmoil.

One after another, the geniuses from the various magic academies stepped into the Holy Flame Grand Arena.

"Vaughn, you’re here! I’m going to defeat you this time. And Heart of Bai Que will definitely be the champions of this exchange meet!" A stunning, blue-haired beauty with a tall, curvy figure and her hair tied in a ponytail walked up to Vaughn. Her eyes burned with competitive fire as she spoke.

"Vaughn, Hafei, the championship for this exchange meet belongs to our Royal Magic Academy. And by the way, Hafei, be my girlfriend after the meet is over! I’ve always been into you!" a blond, blue-eyed young man in a silver Royal Magic Academy uniform said with a smile as he walked over. He had a somewhat frivolous air about him.

Hafei’s gaze swept over the frivolous young man, a look of disgust flashing in her eyes. "Medina, even if every other man in the world dropped dead, I wouldn’t give you a second look."

Medina chuckled. "Hafei, I’m crazy about you. One day, I’ll make you say you like me, and you’ll mean it."

Hafei retorted, "On the day the world ends, you mean?"

Medina chuckled. "Who knows? The world might just end in a few days."

’Vaughn from the Seven-Day Tower, Hafei from the Heart of Bai Que, and Medina from the Royal Magic Academy. They’re the strongest geniuses of this cohort.’

’All three of them are already Great Mages. They’re expected to reach the Legend rank in the future!’

’Great Mages! They’re already stronger than our own instructors. So this is the true strength of the three major magic academies!’

"..."

The genius Mages from the other magic academies watched Vaughn, Hafei, and Medina from a distance, their eyes filled with a mixture of envy and apprehension.
