Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 219 - 218: Cultivation World: The Rich Woman Is Right Beside You
"Beasts?"
Xiong Jiaojiao was stunned for a moment, not reacting right away.
"You look like a smart little girl, so how come you can’t understand what I’m saying?"
"I’m talking about her Beast Husbands who can’t turn back into their human forms. If they eat the leftover medicinal herbs, they’ll probably recover."
Lou Sang explained patiently before waving his hand and heading toward his own courtyard. "Alright, I have things to do. I’ll leave you to it."
----
Not long after Chu Liangyu finished her conversation with Lou Sang, there was a knock on her door.
"Come in."
"Miss, my name is Mu Jin. The Demon Lord sent me to take care of you. If you need anything, please feel free to ask me at any time."
The woman wore a pale yellow dress. When she smiled, a small dimple appeared, making her look very endearing.
Chu Liangyu nodded lightly, taking a liking to the young woman because of her sweet face.
"Actually, there is one thing. Could you please help me find some books about the Demon Realm?"
Mu Jin seemed puzzled but didn’t ask any questions. She only said, "I’ll go at once. Please wait a moment, Miss."
’Since the Polar Spring that could help restore my sight is in the Demon Realm, I should read up on it. That way, I won’t be going in completely blind.’
The wait was long. Out of boredom, Chu Liangyu decided to try cultivating.
’When I first saw this world’s ’her,’ I think it was during the master-selection ceremony after the sect competition ended.’
’Her ranking was quite high back then, which meant her aptitude wasn’t bad.’
’Breaking through to the Nascent Soul stage should have been easy, yet she struggled for a long time at the Golden Core Stage.’
’There were only two reasons for this. First, she was trapped by love, unable to let go of her feelings for her master. Second, she had once blocked a sneak attack for Li Jingxuan, damaging her foundation and slowing her cultivation speed.’
Chu Liangyu’s current body was that of this world’s her, so cultivating was incredibly strenuous.
It felt like trying to breathe with a wet rag covering her nose.
She could feel the air but couldn’t draw a full breath.
This feeling of stagnation appeared whenever she tried to cultivate, and Chu Liangyu’s patience gradually wore thin.
She pulled out a pile of Top Grade Spiritual Stones from her System Space and crudely arranged them on the bed.
In an instant, pure Spiritual Energy surged into her body, and the feeling of stagnation vanished along with it.
The deep furrow in Chu Liangyu’s brow smoothed out, and she continued to meditate cross-legged.
She had no idea how long she meditated, but the sky outside was already starting to brighten. Mu Jin, who had gone to find the books, still hadn’t returned.
Chu Liangyu was no longer in the mood to cultivate. She got off the bed, intending to look for the books herself.
Just as she stepped out the door, she ran into Mu Jin, who was jogging toward her with an anxious expression.
"I’m sorry, I was delayed by something on the way."
Mu Jin smiled apologetically, then said, "But I found all the books you asked for, Miss."
Hearing this, Chu Liangyu retracted the foot she had just put forward.
However, her gaze lingered on Mu Jin’s face a little too long.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that this Mu Jin wasn’t the same one from before. There was a sense of dissonance about her.
It was the exact same feeling she had when she first met the Weaving Lady.
"The books are all here. Would you like to take a look, Miss?"
Chu Liangyu shared her doubts with the Heavenly Dao, but the Heavenly Dao told her there was nothing wrong with the woman.
Since the Heavenly Dao itself had said so, Chu Liangyu could only suppress the strange sense of dissonance that had arisen within her.
"Thank you for your hard work. I’ll read these. You can go and rest."
Mu Jin left, and Chu Liangyu watched her back for a moment before looking away.
There was a large stack of books on the table, all related to the Demon Realm. Chu Liangyu picked one up at random and began to read.
Having reached the Golden Core Stage, a Cultivator no longer needed to eat. So, Chu Liangyu simply held the books and read for three days and three nights.
By the end, even she felt her eyes growing sore.
She finally rubbed her eyes and put down the book in her hands.
But after only a moment’s rest, she looked as if she was about to pick up another book.
She was so absorbed, forgetting to eat or sleep, that she seemed to have completely forgotten her mission here.
After two more days of this, the Heavenly Dao finally couldn’t take it anymore.
"How much longer are you going to read?"
The roar, laced with anger, echoed in Chu Liangyu’s ears, making her head throb.
"Alright, alright, I get it! I’ll go find Li Jingxuan now."
Chu Liangyu reluctantly put down her book and, at its urging, walked out the door and headed toward Li Jingxuan’s location.
Her mind was replaying the contents of the books the entire way. It wasn’t until she reached the entrance of the main hall that her attention was drawn to the conversation within.
"Demon Lord, if you don’t let us pillage and plunder, what are the brothers supposed to do for cultivation resources?"
"Now our cultivation resources are only distributed once every three months! If this goes on, the gap between our strength and that of the Righteous Cultivators will only grow wider. We might not even have a place to survive then!"
Li Jingxuan’s face was cold, and he remained unmoved. "The Righteous Cultivators get Spirit Stones without pillaging and plundering. Why can’t we?"
"Stop thinking about that. Solving the root of the problem is what matters."
However, the Demon Cultivators wouldn’t listen, their rebuttals coming one after another.
"How easy for you to say, Demon Lord! Is it because you used to be a Righteous Cultivator and can’t bring yourself to lose face now?"
"With you as the Demon Lord, the Demon Realm will be ruined sooner or later."
"I’ve never seen a Demon Lord who forbids pillaging and plundering. What a joke."
Listening to the clamor, Li Jingxuan felt incredibly irritated. His tone turned icy in an instant. "If you’re not convinced, fight me. Whoever wins gets this position."
Li Jingxuan’s longsword appeared in his hand at some point. The moment he finished speaking, the sword flew from his grasp and hovered above the crowd.
Although there was only one sword, everyone felt that if they displeased their Demon Lord, countless swords would rain down from above, mincing them into a bloody pulp.
For a moment, you could have heard a pin drop in the hall. The atmosphere was oppressive to the extreme.
Faced with the disparity in power, the crowd could only temporarily suppress their indignation.
But this was only temporary. The key was to solve the problem.
It was at this moment that an unhurried set of footsteps reached their ears.
Everyone turned toward the sound. A woman with a graceful figure appeared. She was wearing a simple sect uniform, yet she wore it with a unique air.
Her aura was calm and gentle. Just looking at her from a distance inspired a sense of peace and trust from the depths of one’s heart.
As she drew closer, they finally remembered to look at her face.
On her delicate, oval face, her fair skin was like the finest porcelain, tinged with a faint pink hue. Her almond-shaped eyes were bright and full of life, as if an Elf were dancing within them.
Though her features had a delicate softness, she exuded a sense of tenacity and resolve.
Strangely, these two incompatible feelings achieved a bizarre sense of balance in her.
"It’s only Spirit Stones. I have plenty. What’s there to argue about?"
