Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 238 - 237: Cultivation World: Urgent Withdrawal of a Chu (End)
"Fellow Daoist, what can I help you with?"
After entering the city, Chu Liangyu first went to a shop that sold all kinds of Spiritual Artifacts. Usually, places like this would also purchase hunted demon beasts for refining materials.
"I have some freshly hunted demon beasts. I’d like to trade them for some Spirit Stones."
Chu Liangyu got straight to the point. The man seemed accustomed to this and led her toward the shop’s backyard.
"We’ll need to appraise them. This might take a little while, Fellow Daoist."
There was a stone table in the backyard. Chu Liangyu sat on a stool for a moment before the man who had received her returned with a middle-aged man.
"I am the Shopkeeper of this establishment. Fellow Daoist, please show me the storage bag containing the demon beasts."
Chu Liangyu didn’t have any extra storage bags; she had been using the storage space from her Trading System.
She did have a Storage Ring, but it was a gift for someone else, so it wasn’t appropriate to take it out and use it.
"I only have one storage bag, and it contains some personal items that would be inconvenient for the Shopkeeper to see. How about this: is it okay if I place all the demon beasts here in the yard?"
It wasn’t the first time the Shopkeeper had encountered such a situation. He didn’t say anything, simply nodding in agreement.
Although it was a backyard, the space was quite large. It should have been no problem to set down a few demon beasts.
But who would have expected that after Chu Liangyu dumped out all the demon beasts she had hunted, they would pile up and fill the entire yard, leaving no room for anyone to even stand?
Perhaps the pile was unstable, because an unknown demon beast carcass fell off and landed right on top of the Shopkeeper and the shop assistant.
With so many demon beast corpses piled in the yard, the stench of blood was thick, making anyone who smelled it feel a bit unwell.
The Shopkeeper and the assistant finally managed to crawl out from under the pile of demon beasts. The Shopkeeper’s expression was grim. He waved his hand and said, "This is far too much. I don’t have enough Spirit Stones to trade for all of this. Why don’t you try another shop?"
"Just trade for whatever you can afford, Shopkeeper. I’ll take the rest to other shops."
Chu Liangyu offered some reassurance, then added, "If that’s still not enough, you can let me trade for a few items from your shop instead."
The Shopkeeper hesitated for a moment. "That... I suppose that could work."
After they reached an agreement, the Shopkeeper and his assistant began to calculate the value. About the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, they were finally finished.
Chu Liangyu traded the demon beasts for about five thousand Mid Grade Spirit Stones, with a few of the beasts exchanged for items from the shop.
Chu Liangyu packed the remaining demon beasts into a storage bag, thanked them with a smile, and followed the two men out to the shop’s sales counter.
The first thing Chu Liangyu did was buy a large number of storage bags, followed by five Personal Medicine Gardens.
These Personal Medicine Gardens were rather interesting. They used certain artifacts as a medium to open up a space inside where one could grow medicinal herbs.
Alchemy Cultivators in the Cultivation World loved these things most. Chu Liangyu thought of Xiong Jiaojiao and the other members of the Wood Spirit Clan, so she bought a few—not too many, just enough for the five of them.
The shop mainly sold Spiritual Artifacts, with some talismans and other miscellaneous items.
Chu Liangyu had bought some from Li Jingxuan once before and found them quite useful, so she bought a large quantity. There were talismans here for all sorts of functions.
Of all the types of Elixir Talisman Array items available in the Cultivation World that this shop carried, Chu Liangyu bought a little of everything.
Perhaps because it was a small shop, Chu Liangyu found that after looking around, there were only a few types of things. She quickly lost interest.
After settling the bill, Chu Liangyu was surprised to find that, in addition to the demon beasts she had bartered, she had also spent about two thousand Mid Grade Spirit Stones.
"Fellow Daoist, please come again!"
The Shopkeeper and his assistant enthusiastically saw her to the door. Only after her figure had faded into the distance did the two return to the shop.
This time, Chu Liangyu inquired about the largest shop in the city, which was said to be run by the Treasure Pavilion.
The Treasure House’s power was beyond question, so Chu Liangyu no longer had to worry about not being able to trade all her demon beasts.
Chu Liangyu walked in, in high spirits. But before she could even call for an assistant, the somewhat anxious voice of the Heavenly Dao sounded in her mind.
"Stop buying things. In a little while, Li Jingxuan and that Demon King might come looking for you. I should just send you back."
Chu Liangyu frowned, clearly a bit displeased.
"So what if they come?"
"This... it’s a bit hard to explain to you, but it will be very troublesome. I advise you to leave at once. Otherwise, don’t blame me when you can’t get away."
Chu Liangyu had no choice but to walk out of the Treasure Pavilion. She sighed helplessly and said, "Fine, then send me back."
Her counterpart in this world had died long ago. For Chu Liangyu to leave, she also had to depart by means of "death."
As for what kind of death, that wasn’t for Chu Liangyu to worry about.
A kaleidoscope pattern, like the one from when she entered the Little World, appeared before her eyes again. After a wave of dizziness, Chu Liangyu lost consciousness.
When she woke up again, she was already back in the Sumeru Space.
As if sensing her return, Elder Yu’s figure appeared beside her.
He waited a moment for her to recover. Seeing she was better, Elder Yu finally spoke with a chuckle, "Well done, lass!"
"Here, this is for you. Inside are the one thousand Origin Beads I promised you."
Elder Yu handed her a storage bag. Chu Liangyu didn’t stand on ceremony, accepting it with a word of thanks.
"By the way, Elder Yu, I spent nearly two months in the Cultivation World. How much time has passed here in the Beast World?"
"About half a month. Why do you ask?"
Perhaps because this was her first time experiencing something like this, Chu Liangyu felt a sense of disorientation after returning, as if she were still in the Cultivation World.
"Oh, right. I promised to mark you with a coordinate carrying the aura of the Cultivation World. I almost forgot."
Chu Liangyu’s eyes lit up. ’If that’s the case, doesn’t that mean I can go back to the Cultivation World later?’
Then she wouldn’t have to worry about the rest of her unsold demon beasts. Instantly, Chu Liangyu’s gloomy mood lifted considerably.
"Close your eyes first."
As Elder Yu spoke, something in his hand began to glow. Chu Liangyu glanced over and saw it was a lotus flower.
This lotus flower was the same pattern as the one on the projection of the Cultivation World’s Little World. In other words, this was Elder Yu’s Divine Seal.
The thought flashed through Chu Liangyu’s mind as she closed her eyes. Elder Yu’s hand came to rest on the spot between her eyebrows.
The lotus seal slowly materialized in her sea of consciousness. Upon seeing the small sphere formed by the Trading System, the lotus seal attached itself to it.
It was like a sticker, but not so rigid. It was actually quite graceful. After being decorated, the small sphere looked much prettier.
"Thank you, Elder Yu."
"It’s all part of what I promised, no need for thanks. By the way, Heguang has been so busy these past few days he hasn’t had a moment’s rest. You should hurry back and see him to take over the Beast God’s duties."
Chu Liangyu knew that Chu Heguang was the name of the old Beast God; she just wasn’t used to hearing it mentioned occasionally.
It took her a moment to react before she remembered who Elder Yu was talking about.
"Alright, I’ll head back right now."
