The spring water flowed from his eye sockets, trickled down his cheeks to his chest, soaking the front of his robes.

Chu Liangyu glanced down before her gaze returned to his eyes. She saw flesh and blood slowly regenerating within his water-filled eye sockets, pushing the remaining spring water out.

The regeneration of flesh brought an indescribable itch. Chi Yizhong tried to endure it, but couldn’t suppress a muffled groan.

Only then did Chu Liangyu notice that his hands were clenched tightly around the fabric on his legs, a reaction to the itch of his healing flesh.

He was gripping so hard that his fingertips had turned white, and the cloth was crumpled in his fists.

Her joy at his recovery was replaced by concern. Chu Liangyu brought a nearby stool over and had him sit down.

She sat on a pile of lumber beside him, trying to distract him with conversation.

At first, she wasn’t sure what to talk about. But then, she caught sight of the lumber out of the corner of her eye, and an idea came to her.

The corners of her lips curled up involuntarily, and a hint of a smile entered her tone as she asked, "When I came in just now, I saw you carving something. Is it the piece you promised me last time? The wood carving that only the two of us are allowed to see?"

WHOOSH. Chi Yizhong’s face instantly turned red—a deep, visible blush.

Not only that, but the tips of his ears also flushed so crimson they looked like they might start bleeding.

Subconsciously, Chi Yizhong reached for the wood carving tucked into his sleeve. The moment his fingers brushed against it, he snatched his hand back as if he’d been burned.

Chu Liangyu, of course, saw his movement and reached out to take it.

However, just as her hand was about to touch his sleeve, Chi Yizhong’s other hand pressed it firmly against his knee.

Chi Yizhong pressed his lips together. His voice was a bit hoarse as he said, "It’s not finished yet."

Chu Liangyu had only meant to distract him, but seeing him so shy, she felt an itch of amusement in her own heart and couldn’t resist teasing, "So I can’t look at it if it’s not finished?"

"That’s not what I mean, it’s just..."

Chi Yizhong trailed off, unable to continue. After a long moment, he said, "...You can look."

Seeing him release her hand, Chu Liangyu’s eyes glinted with a smile. She noticed his eyes were almost fully healed, which brought her even more joy.

Before Chu Liangyu even had to move, Chi Yizhong voluntarily took the wood carving out of his sleeve.

Chi Yizhong’s hands were beautiful. Though covered in small scratches from his carving, they didn’t detract from their elegance; rather, they added a certain character.

The delicate little carving resting in his palm almost seemed to pale in comparison.

Chu Liangyu finally managed to shift her attention from his hands to the carving. However, one look was all it took for her to freeze completely.

’This... this... Chi Yizhong actually carved a scene of them in bed together.’

The two figures had their robes half-on, half-off. It wasn’t vulgar; instead, it exuded a strange kind of beauty.

Chu Liangyu was on top, while Chi Yizhong was leaning against the headboard, his hands wrapped around her waist. The smile on his face was one of helpless, doting affection.

The carving was very well done. It was just... well, Chu Liangyu could feel herself blushing.

And on top of that, if she looked closely, Chu Liangyu could even see the expressions on the tiny faces. It was a perfect reenactment of the scene.

"It’s... it’s carved very well."

Chi Yizhong felt the bone-deep itch finally disappear. Instinctively, he tried to open his eyes.

The first thing he saw was the slight blush at the corners of Chu Liangyu’s eyes and her bashful expression.

The sunlight stung his newly healed eyes, but he paid it no mind, staring at Chu Liangyu without blinking.

Chu Liangyu immediately felt his gaze. She looked up, and their eyes met.

With his eyes healed, Chi Yizhong seemed infused with more Spiritual Energy; just looking at him, even the light around him seemed to shine brighter.

"So, Female Master, do you like this carving?"

Chu Liangyu could clearly see the glint in his eyes. It was predatory, yet held no malice—only a profound possessiveness toward her.

His stare flustered her, and her eyes darted away involuntarily, but she didn’t forget to answer him. "I like it very much."

"I like it very much, too."

Chi Yizhong stood up from the stool, walked in front of her, and knelt down, saying this one line with deep earnestness.

Chu Liangyu was taken aback by the profound meaning hidden in his words.

Before she could say anything else, Chi Yizhong’s warm lips were on hers.

Even kneeling, he was still as tall as Chu Liangyu was sitting on the lumber, so he easily pulled her into his embrace.

He wanted to express his feelings through his kiss, so his movements were urgent. Even so, he remained mindful of Chu Liangyu’s comfort.

The moment she showed any sign of discomfort, he would immediately stop.

With a partner like that, Chu Liangyu’s experience was naturally not going to be a bad one.

She had no intention of playing coy. She wrapped her arms around his neck and returned his kiss with equal passion.

An unknown amount of time passed like this. Their breathing grew heavier, but instead of feeling tired, their bodies’ most primitive desires were stirred.

Once again, she was carried back to the room by Chi Yizhong. The only difference was that this time, Chu Liangyu didn’t have to worry about his eyes as she had before.

Free from guilt, Chu Liangyu relaxed and immersed herself more fully in the pleasure that belonged to them alone.

As for the wood carving that had been the catalyst, Chi Yizhong had been holding it the entire time. Now on the bed, he placed it by the pillow.

This wouldn’t have been a problem, but their movements were so vigorous that the carving, already teetering on the edge, couldn’t take it anymore and fell to the floor.

Chu Liangyu subconsciously reached to grab it, but Chi Yizhong caught her hand, interlaced their fingers, and then pinned both of her hands to her sides.

"Female Master, focus. If you like it, I can carve you more."

Chu Liangyu could sense he was a little angry that her attention had drifted, so she gave up on retrieving the carving. "Alright. I look forward to your work."

Her words caused Chi Yizhong’s eyes to darken.

At the same time, the sounds from the bedframe grew louder, interspersed with other indescribably intimate noises.

The sounds were so loud they could be heard clearly just by standing in the courtyard.

"The little blind boy has his methods, I see."

Though it sounded like a compliment, coming from Feng Qiwu’s mouth, the words took on a different, sour flavor—the kind you could smell from a mile away.

"What now? Do you want to keep listening, or come back later?"

Feng Qiwu glanced at Yu Tu beside him, whose eyes were red with anger. He wasn’t as obvious about it, but he was feeling just as miserable.

"What else can we do? Let’s just go back for now."

Yu Tu didn’t even look at him, simply turning and stalking out of the courtyard.
