Chapter 254: Chapter 253: The Spaces Have Overlapped?
“Follow me out of here first.”
Chu Liangyu nodded. After everyone had gathered around her, she began to lead them outside.
But how could the Wandering Beasts possibly let them leave? Before Chu Liangyu could even lead the group out of the house’s immediate area, Wandering Beasts began to close in from all sides.
They had never seen such a scene. Their faces turned pale with fright, and their gazes couldn’t help but turn to Chu Liangyu, who stood protectively in front of them.
“Don’t be afraid. With me here, getting you out won’t be a problem.”
Chu Liangyu’s voice was calm. She didn’t make any flowery promises, but it was strangely reassuring.
Although they were still a little worried, they weren’t as panicked as before. They also knew they couldn’t place all their hopes on her alone.
They picked up whatever could be of use nearby, even tree branches, preparing to face the Wandering Beasts alongside Chu Liangyu.
Chu Liangyu saw this but said nothing.
“You dare to run? Looks like we’ve been too easy on you.”
“Brothers, get them!”
Battle cries grew closer, but the expression on Chu Liangyu’s face didn’t change at all. The trident she had released floated by her side. This time, Chu Liangyu had no intention of using it.
Her fingers moved quickly, forming a seal. Finally, she uttered, “Thorn Technique!”
Thick thorns, like pythons, erupted from the ground, forming a solid barrier around Chu Liangyu and the others, protecting them completely. The thick vines grew continuously. Before the attackers could even charge, the vines reached them, piercing straight through their bodies.
Before they could even scream, half of the surrounding Wandering Beasts had fallen.
Faced with such a one-sided display of overwhelming power, many of them thought of retreating. Chu Liangyu saw this and, naturally, had no intention of letting them escape.
“Thunder Spirit, stop them.”
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
With the Thunder Spirit’s help, those who tried to flee were struck down and killed on the spot. Seeing this, the remaining ones didn’t dare to run.
Under Chu Liangyu’s merciless slaughter, the men became desperate. They stopped retreating and charged at her group, ready to take a piece out of them even if it meant dying.
“Over here! They’re chopping the vines!”
Yaya shouted, throwing the stone in her hand directly at them. To her surprise, she actually hit one.
Just then, a branch shot out from the vines and pierced through the man’s chest from behind.
Seeing the Wandering Beasts grow even more frantic, Chu Liangyu raised an eyebrow, feeling no panic at all. She then formed another hand seal and whispered, “Mystic Ice Skill!”
In an instant, the surrounding temperature seemed to drop by several degrees. Starting from Chu Liangyu’s feet, the ground was covered in a layer of ice. Except for the females under Chu Liangyu’s protection, any Wandering Beast who touched the ice had their feet frozen solid. Not even two seconds later, the frozen Beastmen had become ice sculptures.
“Thunder Spirit.”
Once turned into ice sculptures, they were completely immobilized. When the Thunder struck them, they were soon shattered to pieces.
Thanks to her efficient massacre, only a mere two or three of the once-numerous Wandering Beasts remained.
“I was wrong! Please, don’t kill me!”
“I know I was wrong too! Please, spare me…”
“Me, me too.”
When the three met Chu Liangyu’s murderous gaze, their legs began to tremble uncontrollably. Two of them were so scared they wet themselves.
“I can spare you. Tell me, are there any other Wandering Beasts nearby, and where have they hidden the captured females?”
“If we tell you, will you really spare us?”
Chu Liangyu snorted coldly. “You have no choice but to believe that I will let you go.”
Of course, Chu Liangyu had no intention of letting them go. The only reason she wasn’t more direct was to give the three of them a glimmer of hope.
“Unwilling? Then I’ll send you on your way right now.”
Chu Liangyu raised her hand, posturing as if to kill them.
“Don’t! We’ll take you there!”
While Chu Liangyu was busy saving people, everything went smoothly for her. But the cubs who had entered the strange space were suffering one setback after another.
—-
This time, two White Tiger Cubs and five Phoenix cubs had come to the Southern Barbarian Land. Among them, the two White Tiger Cubs, Yu Chu and Yu Jin, were the youngest.
Even so, the two of them seemed more mature than the Phoenix cubs.
“Yu Chu, don’t you think this place is very strange?”
The leader of the five Phoenix cubs, Feng Ling, surveyed the surroundings. A moment later, he added, “There are too many wild beasts here. I haven’t seen many Beastmen who can take human form.”
“And these beasts seem to be afraid of us. They all run away before we can even get close.”
Yu Chu nodded upon hearing this. “I noticed that too. But none of that is our business. The most important thing is to quickly find the females and cubs here and teach them the Body Technique.”
“That’s true.”
The group said no more and began to travel faster, forging ahead silently.
As they continued onward, the number of Beastmen who could take human form seemed to increase.
But there were no cubs among them, only some males and a few females.
Having finally found people who met the criteria, they certainly weren’t going to let this opportunity pass.
Feng Ling took the lead, walking up to a passing female. “Hello, we have a Body Technique that can help females with Beastification. Would you like to learn? We can teach you for free.”
“Beastification?” The person was taken aback, not quite understanding what he meant. She asked, “What is Beastification?”
Feng Ling was also taken aback. Although he found it strange, he explained, “It helps you return to your original form.”
Hearing this, the female became even more confused. “For Great Demons like us who have cultivated a human form, returning to our original bodies is just a matter of thought. Why would we need any Body Technique for that? You’re a strange little demon.”
With that, the person ignored them and turned to walk toward a city.
It was a city, but the sign above it read: Demon King Hall.
The person’s words had left the group completely bewildered. After all, they had never heard of such a thing.
What did she mean, they could revert to their original form just by cultivating a human one? And what was this “cultivation” she spoke of?
The group exchanged glances. The usually quiet Yu Jin spoke up, “Let’s follow and see.”
Although they didn’t know what the Demon King Hall was, they saw many Beastmen inside. Perhaps going in would clear up their confusion.
However, after entering, they found that while there were indeed more Beastmen here, they had no interest in the Body Technique and even found the idea baffling.
Just as they were at a loss for what to do, the crowd suddenly fell silent. Everyone turned to look in a certain direction, shouting something.
When the group got closer, they could finally hear what they were shouting: “Lord Demon King.”
