Chapter 263: Chapter 262: Don’t Flatter Yourself

After settling Chu Liangyu in, Feng Qiwu hesitated for a moment, but decided to leave her some space to rest. He pushed open the door and walked out himself.

“I was wondering why I couldn’t find the Female Master after the banquet. So you’re the one who took her away.”

As soon as Feng Qiwu turned around, someone was standing in front of him. And judging by his expression, he didn’t look too happy.

“That’s right. I’m the one who took her.”

Feng Qiwu kept his voice low. Once they were a bit farther from the room, he spoke up, “You look pretty unconvinced. What’s wrong? Want to fight?”

“If you want to fight, let’s fight! You think I’m afraid of you?”

Feng Qiwu raised an eyebrow, saying with feigned regret, “If we were to fight right now… I definitely wouldn’t be able to beat you. After all, I’ve been ‘exercising’ all night. I’m not exactly in peak condition.”

WHOOSH. Yu Tu’s face instantly heated up—not from shyness, but from pure rage!

“Feng Qiwu, are you out of your mind?!”

Blood rushed to his head as Yu Tu instantly understood why Feng Qiwu had said those provocative words. ‘So that’s what he was waiting for.’

‘To deliberately provoke me just so he could show off his glorious achievements from last night!’

“How could I be out of my mind? I’m just really tired.”

Feng Qiwu could clearly hear the anger in his tone, but seeing him like this only made his own mood better.

‘Finally, his day had come. He was no longer just a bystander.’

‘After watching the Female Master be intimate with other Beast Husbands so many times, it would be a lie to say his heart didn’t ache with disappointment.’

‘But thankfully, he could now be the one to show off. Even if Yu Tu was his only audience, it was better than no one at all.’

‘He was starting to understand why Hu Qiumu was sometimes so brazen with his words. Being shown favoritism really was different.’

‘Even though he was on the receiving end of others’ jealous and envious stares, his own mood was indescribably cheerful.’

“You really are insane.”

“That’s right. I’m insane with happiness.”

Yu Tu: …

‘How can he be such a prick? Can someone please come and put him in his place!’

“You know, this past night was truly my…”

“Shut up!”

Yu Tu roared in frustration, then quickened his pace, his intention to get away from Feng Qiwu abundantly clear.

But obviously, given Feng Qiwu’s personality, he wasn’t about to let Yu Tu leave until he’d had his fill of gloating.

He hadn’t gotten far from Feng Qiwu before he caught up again, not forgetting to run his mouth, “We’re all good brothers here. Why are you so impatient? I’m just sharing with you like normal. Don’t you have even a little bit of patience?”

Yu Tu’s expression was terrifyingly dark. “Who’s good brothers with you? Stop trying to flatter yourself.”

“Don’t be so grumpy. It’s fine if you don’t see me as a brother. As long as I see *you* as a brother, that’s all that matters.”

As he spoke, Feng Qiwu’s arm wrapped around Yu Tu’s shoulder with practiced ease.

Yu Tu threw off his hand and, in one smooth motion, lifted his foot to kick him in the ass.

The move was so sudden that Feng Qiwu was caught completely off guard. The kick landed squarely on his butt, and he stumbled forward, barely managing to regain his balance.

He looked back at Yu Tu, stunned. “You actually hit me!”

“What, you think I was faking?”

After landing a successful kick, Yu Tu felt a great deal of his frustration dissipate, and the dark look on his face softened slightly.

Feng Qiwu didn’t look very angry. He knew exactly how to provoke Yu Tu. He opened his mouth to continue their previous conversation, “I can understand why you’d do that. After all, I did monopolize the Female Master for the entire night, and last night, we…”

“Are you ever going to shut up?!”

Yu Tu’s face darkened again. Clapping his hands over his ears, he stopped walking and broke into a sprint, fleeing from Feng Qiwu’s incessant nagging.

Watching him run farther and farther away, Feng Qiwu didn’t chase him this time.

“Trying to fight me? You’re still too green.”

Whistling cheerfully, Feng Qiwu turned and started walking back toward his room.

Chu Liangyu knew nothing of the squabble between the two men. When she awoke, the sky outside was already bright.

The warmth in the air told her it was already noon. After staring into space for a moment, Chu Liangyu got out of bed.

She had originally planned to go out and find someone to summon her two Beast Husbands, then take them back to the Xihe Tribe by tearing open a spatial rift.

But just as she opened the door, she came face-to-face with Yaya, who had been about to knock.

Yaya looked a little surprised, but she quickly recovered, a smile spreading across her lips. “Leader Chu, I knew you were leaving today, so I thought I’d bring over some food.”

“That’s very thoughtful of you.”

Chu Liangyu didn’t refuse, stepping aside to let her into the room.

Watching her back, Chu Liangyu couldn’t help but think of Xiong Jiaojiao. The two of them had very similar personalities and experiences.

‘If they ever get the chance to meet, I feel like they would get along really well.’

“Leader Chu, what are you thinking about?”

Chu Liangyu cleared her throat and explained, “Oh, it’s nothing. I was just thinking you have a lot in common with my Jiaojiao.”

“Jiaojiao?”

“Her full name is Xiong Jiaojiao. I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today without her help. If fate allows you two to meet, you might become friends.”

Yaya poured her a cup of tea before saying, “From your tone, Leader Chu, it sounds like the two of you are very close.”

“We get along,” she replied modestly. Chu Liangyu then sat down and didn’t forget to invite Yaya, “Don’t be polite. You should eat with me.”

“Alright, then. Thank you, Leader Chu.”

Neither of them followed any strict rules about not talking while eating, so they chatted as they ate.

“In that case, it does sound like Jiaojiao and I have had very similar experiences. Hearing you talk about her, Leader Chu, has made me a bit curious about what she’s like.”

“Although I’ve never heard of the Wood Spirit Clan, I get the feeling they must be a very powerful race.”

“For her to have grown so much that she can now stand on her own… that’s truly amazing. I… I’m actually a little envious of her.”

“Hm?” Chu Liangyu was puzzled. She asked, “Envious of what?”

Yaya just smiled. She didn’t explain herself, instead changing the subject. “Leader Chu, will you come back to our tribe in the future?”

“Well, that’s not certain. I might, but I also might not.”

Seeing that she was unwilling to say more, Chu Liangyu didn’t press the issue and simply answered her question.

A flicker of disappointment crossed Yaya’s face, but she quickly hid it.

“If I want to see you, Leader Chu, will I be able to find you if I go to the Xihe Tribe?”

“Yes, as long as I’m in the tribe.”

Chu Liangyu smiled. “I’m not that hard to get a hold of. It’s quite easy to see me if you want to.”

“That’s good to hear. I’ll come visit you when I get the chance, Leader Chu.”

By the time they finished talking, the two of them had eaten everything on the table.

Yaya offered, “Let me clean this up. I imagine your Beast Husbands will be here to look for you soon.”

“Alright. Thank you.”

Since that was the case, Chu Liangyu didn’t go out again, instead sitting quietly in her chair to wait.
