Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 275: Human Resources of the Immortal Realm
“Female Master, let me tell you, when we were subduing the tribes…”
Chu Liangyu was listening to what he was about to say next when Chi Yizhong suddenly cut Feng Qiwu off. “After you left, the two of us quickly subdued the tribes. We waited a few days, but when it seemed you weren’t planning on coming back, we returned to our tribe first.”
“The tribes are pretty much all subdued. What are your plans now? Do you need my help?”
Chu Liangyu thought for a moment before sharing her plan. “After the victory banquet, I want to assign the young ones to the tribes we’ve subdued and have them learn to govern.”
“But they’ve never done anything like this before. I’m concerned about whether they’re capable enough for the role.”
Chu Liangyu wasn’t too worried about their strength. Her main concern was their young age and lack of maturity, which could make them easy to fool.
“Your idea is excellent, Female Master, but they’ll need more than just martial prowess; they’ll need a certain amount of wisdom as well.”
Hu Qiumu was the first to agree with her idea. Not only that, but he also quickly identified its potential weaknesses.
“That’s what I’m worried about, too. Do you have any good solutions?”
“Some of the young ones might be naturally intelligent, but such cases are rare. It’s not realistic to expect them to grasp everything in a short amount of time.”
Chu Liangyu could tell he had an idea, so she didn’t press him, waiting for him to continue.
“How about this: have them observe any anomalies in their tribes daily and report back to the Xihe Tribe every three days. We can help them make judgments on matters they’re unsure about.”
“Not only will we be able to stay informed of the situation over there at all times, but we can also use this to teach them.”
It had to be said that Hu Qiumu’s idea was excellent; even Chu Liangyu was swayed as she listened.
However, Xiang Qiancheng considered the finer details and retorted, “Who will process all the reports that come in? If everything is handed over to the Female Master, wouldn’t the pressure on her be immense?”
Hu Qiumu glanced at him, then turned his gaze to Chu Liangyu and said unhurriedly, “Naturally, the few of us will handle those things. The Female Master will only need to review the more important information after it’s been screened.”
As Chu Liangyu listened, she couldn’t help but feel this model resembled the workings of an ancient dynasty.
Even so, their situation was a little different. The oppression of female Beastmen was diminishing, and there wasn’t really a class system in place.
All these procedures had a single goal: to guide the Beast World toward a better future. Therefore, there was no harm in trying this model.
“Alright, we’ll do as Hu Qiumu suggests. We can discuss the specific details after the victory banquet.”
Jinling, perhaps feeling he hadn’t handled matters well, still seemed ill at ease, even though Chu Liangyu had ultimately saved the situation. Since returning, he had merely listened quietly to their conversation without uttering a single word.
Chu Liangyu glanced at him a few extra times but said nothing. ‘At the end of the day, it’s just a matter of a male Beastman’s pride. It’s just taken a bit of a blow, and he’ll get over it.’
“Alright, everyone, let’s not disturb the Female Master’s rest. We can have a proper get-together at the victory banquet in three days.”
They had escorted Chu Liangyu to the entrance of her courtyard, but they all stopped outside with a tacit understanding. Hu Qiumu, who best understood their thoughts and wanted to spare Chu Liangyu the trouble, was the one who had spoken up.
No one said a word, as if they had all tacitly agreed with him. After watching Chu Liangyu return to her courtyard, they each went their separate ways.
“Little Crow, are these all your Beast Husbands? They’re so handsome, it makes my heart flutter just looking at them. No wonder you look down on the Lord Demon King. Now I see there’s a reason for it all.”
“If I were you, I wouldn’t want to give up the entire forest for a single tree, either.”
Upon returning to her room, Chu Liangyu lay down on a chaise lounge while the puppet, Chu Si, massaged her.
Hearing this, the corners of Chu Liangyu’s mouth quirked up unconsciously. “So, when you go back and see your Lord Demon King, tell him to stop thinking about me.”
“Tsk, the Lord Demon King is a stubborn one. He probably won’t listen to me.”
The little snake’s beady eyes darted around before it asked, “Are you really unwilling to give me a strand of your hair? I promise, if you just give me one strand, I can make the Lord Demon King stop pining for you.”
Chu Liangyu’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Tell me your motive first. Then I’ll consider whether to give it to you.”
“You’re so powerful, I couldn’t hurt you even if I tried. I only want your hair so I can have a better life when I go back.”
“A better life?”
The little snake gave a sheepish hiss and flicked its tongue, explaining, “I’ve been carefully observing your every move these past few days. I’m confident I can imitate you very well. With the boost from your hair, I’m ninety percent sure I can fool the Lord Demon King when I transform into you.”
“So you want to disguise yourself as me to win his favor, and in turn, get more cultivation resources?”
In truth, even without the Snake Demon diverting the Demon King’s attention, Chu Liangyu had no intention of having any further contact with him.
“You’ll be benefiting from using me. Aren’t you going to offer me something in return?”
“But I’m helping you out in a big way here! Why are you asking for a reward?”
Chu Liangyu raised an eyebrow and said bluntly, “You’ve got some nerve. Your Demon King can’t do anything to me anyway, even if you do nothing.”
“When it comes down to it, you’re the one begging me.”
Hearing this, the little snake’s entire body stiffened. It knew that what Chu Liangyu said was true, and so it began to seriously consider the matter of compensation.
Seeing it deep in thought, Chu Liangyu didn’t rush it. Instead, she shifted into a more comfortable position and let the puppet continue its massage.
After a long while, the little snake finally spoke, its voice tinged with helplessness. “I don’t think I really have anything of value to offer. But I can guarantee this: after my Ascension, I’ll be your first contact in the Immortal Realm.”
‘The Immortal Realm?’
Chu Liangyu knew that the ultimate goal for all Cultivators in the Cultivation World was Ascension, but she knew very little about the Immortal Realm that came after.
“What is this Immortal Realm you go to after Ascension? Do you leave the Cultivation World behind completely?”
“That’s right. We go to a more powerful world. Otherwise, why would so many Cultivators want to achieve Ascension?”
The little snake nodded as if it were obvious, then added, “You’re so powerful, if you ever get a chance to go to the Immortal Realm, I might even be able to show you the good life.”
“Besides, I’m desperate. My innate talent isn’t that great to begin with. Reaching the Divinity Transformation Early Stage is already my limit. Without more resources, I’m afraid I’ll have no hope of advancing for the rest of my life.”
Chu Liangyu didn’t agree immediately. Instead, she said, “I can give it to you, but you have to swear an oath.”
“You must swear that if I ever really go to your Immortal Realm, you will help me with all your power. Furthermore, you must not use my hair to do anything to harm me, and you must not tell anyone about this.”
“And if you are ever exposed, you will bear the consequences alone.”
The two of them came from different worlds, but the content of an oath could be received and perpetually monitored by the Heavenly Dao of one’s own world.
