Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 276: Accepting Orders
“Alright, I agree to everything you said.”
Without much hesitation, the Snake Demon swore the oath just as Chu Liangyu had instructed. In fact, she seemed rather eager.
“The banquet doesn’t start for another three days. I’ll take this time to send you back.”
Chu Liangyu scooped her back into her palm and casually handed her the plucked hair before sitting up from the couch.
Chu Liangyu didn’t know how to contact Elder Yu, and considering the old man was resting, she had no intention of bothering him.
Once outside Void Island, she waved her hand, and a tunnel to Sumeru Space appeared before her.
She still remembered the projection of the Cultivation World’s Little World from her last visit. Combined with the teleportation ability of this space, she arrived in front of it in the blink of an eye.
Just as she was hesitating on how to announce her presence, someone called out from behind her, “Perfect timing. I was just about to look for you.”
“Elder Yu, you were looking for me?”
Elder Yu nodded and stepped aside. “I told them about your last visit to the Cultivation World. Their Chosen Ones also have some… issues, so they’re hoping you can help.”
“Of course, it’s not for free. They’ll give you Origin Pearls.”
Three people stood behind Elder Yu. Two were elders similar in age to him, while the third was a young woman with two braided pigtails who looked to be in her twenties.
Chu Liangyu studied the young woman for a moment longer. She felt like she had seen this person before but couldn’t quite recall where.
‘It must have just been a passing acquaintance, otherwise I would remember.’
“So you’re the new Beast God. We’ve met before, do you remember?”
The young woman smiled and walked over, explaining, “I was there last time when you all brought an Otherworldly Soul over to exchange for Origin Pearls. I was just a little short on funds back then and still owe you fifty Origin Pearls.”
“But don’t worry, after you help me this time, I’ll definitely pay you back along with your reward.”
Earning Origin Pearls was exactly what she needed to do right now. Naturally, she wouldn’t pass up such an opportunity, but she wouldn’t jump into it just yet.
“My success in helping Elder Yu also had an element of luck. I can’t guarantee a one hundred percent success rate, so… are you sure you don’t want to think it over?”
This wasn’t just a simple polite refusal from Chu Liangyu; it was also a way to secure certain guarantees for herself.
As the saying goes, even if there is no success, there is still effort. If she failed, even if she couldn’t get the full reward, she should still be paid at least half.
‘Otherwise, what about all the time I would have wasted?’
“Don’t worry, I won’t blame you even if you fail.” She quickly waved her hands and added, “And you don’t need to worry about your safety. The Heavenly Dao and I will ensure nothing happens to you, no matter what. As for the payment, even if you fail, I will still give you seventy percent of the reward.”
“So, what do you say?”
A wide smile spread across Chu Liangyu’s face. “I’d be happy to oblige,” she said cheerfully.
“So when are you free?”
The other woman was clearly more excited than she was, asking about her availability the moment she agreed.
“How about this, give me a sliver of your Divine Sense Mark, and I’ll contact you as soon as I’m ready.”
“Okay!”
Chu Liangyu entered the Divine Sense Mark into her Trading System. Just like that, she had a new contact besides Lou Sang.
“What is this? It looks amazing! With this, can I contact you proactively too?”
The trading panel was not in its usual invisible state. Chu Liangyu had disabled this function, allowing everyone present to see the system’s interface.
“It’s called the Trading System. Just a little gadget I whipped up.”
“Adding your Divine Sense Mark doesn’t allow you to contact me, but it allows me to contact you. If you want to initiate contact, you’ll need something to act as a medium—something similar to my Trading System.”
‘Making something like that isn’t difficult. At most, there would just be some minor differences in functionality.’
“Oh, I see. I’ll make one when I get back, then. In that case, could I trouble you to give me a sliver of your Divine Sense Mark as well?”
She took out a shell-shaped piece of jade and held it out to Chu Liangyu, saying sheepishly, “Please just leave your Divine Sense on here for now.”
“Not at all.”
The more people she knew, the more Origin Pearls she could earn later. How could Chu Liangyu possibly refuse?
Seeing that they were nearly finished, the two elders stepped forward. One of them said jokingly, “Don’t forget about us two old geezers. Hope the young lady won’t find us a bother.”
“Of course not, of course not.”
After exchanging contact information, they chatted for a bit longer, mostly about the order of her upcoming visits.
The girl with the braided pigtails was named Xu Rou, the Guardian of the Mystical World. Her situation was the most urgent, so Chu Liangyu planned to go to her world first.
The two elders, however, weren’t in a hurry. They planned to discuss the order after she had resolved Xu Rou’s issue.
Chu Liangyu didn’t say anything. She knew full well that the two elders probably wanted to see her performance first before committing to anything else.
“So, was my introduction timely or what?”
After everyone else had left, Elder Yu walked over with a smile. “Now then, tell me, was there something you came to find me for?”
The reminder made Chu Liangyu remember her original purpose. She revealed the Snake Demon on her wrist. “A while ago, a rift opened in the Beast World, connecting to the Cultivation World’s Demon Realm. She slipped through. I came specifically to send her back.”
“I see. No wonder the Heavenly Dao mentioned detecting a strange aura for a while.”
Elder Yu took the Snake Demon. Without paying it much mind, he placed it directly into the Cultivation World.
“You’ve gone to some trouble. I can see she has some cultivation. I hope she didn’t cause you any problems?”
‘There were definitely problems, but Elder Yu’s introductions were more than enough to make up for them.’
So, Chu Liangyu simply said, “I found her before she had a chance to do anything.”
“I see they all left you a Divine Sense Mark. Here, I’ll leave you one as well. It’ll make it easier to get in touch if anything comes up.”
After a moment, Elder Yu added, “It must be hard on you. You finally become a Guardian, only to be saddled with such a broken, dilapidated world. SIGH…”
“Everything will get better. And it’s all thanks to your introductions, Elder Yu. Otherwise, as a newly-minted Guardian, I wouldn’t have known how to earn Origin Pearls.”
Chu Liangyu didn’t really mind. The situation in the Beast World was indeed not optimistic, but it was her world, after all. No matter how broken it was, she would find a way to mend it.
“It’s good that you think that way. You perform well, and I’ll find opportunities to pull in a few more people for you.”
“Thank you, Elder Yu!”
Chu Liangyu knew he was mostly helping her for the old man’s sake, but her gratitude was no less sincere for it.
