Chapter 270: Chapter 270: This Man Is So Crazy

He looked completely uninhibited. He rolled over onto his stomach, casually untied the towel around his waist, and tossed it aside.

She bit her lip, picked up the ointment, and carefully applied it for Evan Ford.

A muffled grunt escaped the man’s throat; it was hard to tell if it was from pain or pleasure.

She put down the ointment, pulled the towel over, and covered Evan Ford’s body. "All done."

The man turned his head to look at her, a faint blush coloring his handsome face. He said nothing, but got up, secured the towel around his waist, then immediately swept her into his arms and strode into the bathroom.

He set her down on the vanity, and Evan Ford took a toothbrush from the medicine cabinet and handed it to her.

"There are new toothbrushes in the drawer below."

The man bent down, pulled open the drawer, took out a new toothbrush, unwrapped it, squeezed toothpaste onto it, and began brushing his teeth without a word.

After they finished washing up, he leaned against the vanity with his arms crossed, watching her pat toner onto her face.

Her cheeks were quite full, and the slapping sound of her hands on her chubby face inexplicably reminded him of a seal clapping its belly.

Identical.

He pursed his lips, the corners of his mouth twitching upward almost imperceptibly.

When Anne finished her skincare routine, he lifted her off the counter. Instead of putting her down, he carried her out princess-style, walking straight out of the room and toward the living room.

Anne was only wrapped in a towel. She wanted to change her clothes first, but when she heard Evan Ford say he was hungry and had already ordered takeout, she swallowed the words on the tip of her tongue.

The man carried her to the dining area and set her down on a chair. He seemed to have already explored her apartment and was quite familiar with the layout. He turned, went into the kitchen, and poured her a glass of warm water.

She cupped the glass in her hands, her gaze following Evan Ford.

’There were several long scratches on the man’s firm back—all my handiwork...’

"Mr. Ford, after we eat, are you going home?"

The man poured himself a glass of water and sat down beside her. "What, you want me to leave?"

"No, I was just asking."

"We’re eating to replenish our strength."

"?"

"We’ll continue after the meal."

Her eyes widened. She stared at Evan Ford in shock. ’This man is insane!’

"Again?"

Evan Ford gave a serious "mhm." "I’ve been single for all twenty-eight years of my life, Miss Austin. Try to be understanding."

"..."

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang.

Evan Ford got up to get the takeout, telling her to eat more, or she wouldn’t be able to keep up with him later.

The untouched leftovers they’d brought back last night were no longer fresh and had been thrown in the trash by the man.

The newly arrived takeout was from a stir-fry place, and it tasted great.

However, Anne’s entire body ached, and she had no appetite, so she didn’t eat much.

After Evan Ford had eaten his fill, he ignored the takeout containers on the table, scooped her up directly, and returned to the bedroom.

...

Around three in the morning, Anne was completely spent. She collapsed on top of Evan Ford and dazedly drifted off to sleep.

When the alarm rang in the morning, she almost couldn’t get up again.

Enduring the aches all over her body, she went into the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth, then changed her clothes and rushed out the door with her bag.

Evan Ford was sprawled on the bed, sleeping comfortably.

He was about to go back to sleep when his phone rang.

The caller ID read "Grandma."

He hesitated for a moment before answering.

His grandmother asked excitedly, "I hear you haven’t been home for the past two nights?"

"How did you know, Grandma?"

"I asked your housekeeper."

"..."

"Evan, tell Grandma, did you get a girlfriend?"

He grunted a sullen "mhm."

His grandmother exclaimed excitedly, "I knew my grandson wasn’t gay!"

Evan Ford helplessly rubbed his temples. "Grandma, is there something you need? I’m really tired right now."

"Nothing important, I just wanted to ask when you’re free to bring your girlfriend home for me to see."

"I’ll tell you after I’ve asked her."

"Is she there with you? Put her on the phone, I’ll talk to her."

"She’s not. She went to work."

Before his grandmother could ask any more questions, he cut her off with a curt "I’m going to sleep" and decisively hung up.

Tossing the phone aside, he flopped onto the pillow, his every breath filled with Anne’s scent.

’So fragrant...’

「Lunch Break.」

「Heart of the Ocean.」

Sophie Shaw ordered food, sent a message to Anne, and called her over to her office to eat together.

Anne kept rubbing her sore neck, and Sophie Shaw noticed a dark red mark on it.

As an experienced married woman, she knew exactly what that mark was.

"Anne."

"Hm?"

"Are things... going well between you and my cousin?"

Anne gave a pained laugh. "They’re going great."

"As long as it’s going well."

"Let me tell you."

Anne lowered her voice conspiratorially. "Your cousin’s stamina is out of this world. How’s your Mr. Blackwood’s stamina? Is he... capable?"

Sophie Shaw’s cheeks grew slightly warm. "He’s fine."

’Why is she asking me such a private question? It’s a little embarrassing.’

"You took yesterday off. Don’t tell me it was because you couldn’t get out of bed in the morning?"

Anne giggled. "Couldn’t get out of bed? Honey, when I finally opened my eyes, it was already dark out."

"He’s that intense?"

"Your cousin is totally my type. I’ve decided he’s the one."

’To find someone whose kinks match yours is a rare treasure.’

"Oh, right. Do you know any reliable online sex toy shops? Recommend one to me."

Sophie Shaw blinked, looking at Anne in astonishment.

"Don’t just stare. Push me a link to one that does discreet shipping."

"..."

’Anne’s in full bloom and there’s no stopping her now.’

Sophie Shaw silently picked up her phone. She was about to ask Nina Halloway where she had bought the wedding gift, but after a moment’s thought, she felt a bit embarrassed. She put her phone back down and said to Anne, "Actually, Nina knows more about this stuff. You should ask her."

"Midas?"

"Yeah. She gave me a set once."

Anne’s eyes lit up. "So, have you used it?"

"Only the handcuffs. Haven’t tried the other stuff yet."

"Your love life with Mr. Blackwood is so bland."

Sophie Shaw blushed in embarrassment, burying her head in her food and refusing to answer.

Anne picked up her phone and immediately started a video call with Nina Halloway on WhatsApp.

The moment the call connected, Nina Halloway’s face appeared on the screen, her hair disheveled and looking utterly exhausted.

Anne was startled. "Nina, what happened to you?"

’Did Ethan Austin not take good care of her?’

’It’s only been a little while, how did she end up looking like such a wreck?’

"Not sleeping well at night."

Nina Halloway was still in bed, lying listlessly. She stared at Anne through the camera and noticed the younger woman was glowing and full of energy. "How are you so energetic?" she asked curiously. "Work not busy lately?"

"I’m in a relationship."

Anne was straightforward and didn’t hide a thing.

"With who?"

"Take a guess."

Nina Halloway didn’t even need a second to think before blurting out, "Evan Ford?"

"Was it that obvious?"

"A little."

As the brand ambassador for Heart of the Ocean, Nina Halloway had visited the office a few times while Sophie Shaw was hospitalized. On one of those occasions, she happened to see Evan Ford picking Anne up from work.

The two of them had been very proper and restrained, but it wasn’t hard to see the subtle atmosphere between them.
