Doomsday Rebirth: The Doctor and the General's Survival Farm
Chapter 111: The Blood of the Visitor
By evening, the northern mountain forest had transformed into a surreal, alien landscape that Raviah could barely recognize.
The celestial visitor’s blood continued to descend from the fractured sky, scattering across the steep slopes in luminous, slow-falling droplets. Each impact produced a brief flash of white light, followed by a spreading ripple of primordial energy that penetrated deep into the frozen soil.
From the security of Sol Haven’s central command center, Raviah monitored the rapid metamorphosis through high-definition feeds transmitted by military reconnaissance drones. She stood before the wall-sized array, watching a single droplet strike the trunk of a pine tree.
The massive tree shuddered violently, its bark splitting wide open. Within seconds, thick new shoots erupted from its trunk, twisting outward at impossible speeds while pale crystalline veins spread beneath the wood, pulsing like living arteries.
A neighboring droplet crashed into a cluster of jagged granite rocks. The stone cracked apart with a loud groan, giving birth to translucent geometric formations that erupted from the fractures and glimmered with the same dark radiance as the celestial blood.
"Look at the fauna," Raviah said, her voice tight as she gestured toward a secondary monitor.
A herd of mountain deer emerged from the twisted tree line, their bodies trembling under visible waves of raw energy. One deer stumbled to its knees, but as it rose, glowing azure markings burned along its legs, allowing it to leap over a fallen log and land nearly twenty meters away.
Another deer lowered its head, creating a translucent, shimmering barrier around its fragile body.
"They are awakening abilities without undergoing the usual mutation process," Raviah murmured, leaning closer to the terminal.
Elias stepped up beside her, rapidly scrolling through the drone’s spectral analyzer outputs. "That shouldn’t be possible. Their bodies have no established elemental roots or natural core structures."
"Perhaps the celestial blood is supplying something their biological systems already possess the potential to develop," Raviah replied, tapping the console to magnify the deer’s energy signature.
Instead of forming a conventional Beast Core, the animal’s circulatory network was funneling concentrated energy through newly formed crystalline structures along its spine. The process mirrored an Elemental awakening, yet it unfolded with frightening, unnatural velocity.
"Look at the energy density levels," Elias pointed out, highlighting a flashing diagnostic bar on the left display.
Raviah reviewed the incoming metrics. The luminous fluid contained a staggering concentration of primordial energy that, unlike ambient atmospheric energy, forced immediate biological rewrite upon contact.
"The visitor’s blood isn’t merely an energy source," she concluded softly. "It acts as a universal catalyst, rewriting every living organism it touches."
In a practiced, fluid motion, Raviah reached into her dimensional space, retrieving an encrypted communicator before pressing the broadcast key.
"Send an emergency warning to every reconnaissance unit," she ordered into the mic. "Prohibit direct contact with the substance, collect environmental readings strictly remotely, and withdraw from any sector showing uncontrolled growth."
"Understood, Doctor," the comms operator replied, instantly transmitting her directive across military channels.
A moment later, a primary feed switched to a narrow ravine where several droplets had gathered in a shallow basin. The terrain around the depression had converted into a dense field of crystalline vegetation, complete with translucent leaves that glowed under the darkening sky.
"That concentration is far too high," Raviah said, her expression hardening as warning alerts began chiming on the dashboard.
The scanner registered an energy spike, immediately followed by a larger spike. Beneath the shimmering vines, something was stirring.
The drone camera zoomed in on the thick brush. A small creature, likely a mountain fox prior to exposure, crawled out from beneath the crystalline foliage, its body clad in smooth, pale armor with branching horn structures extending from its skull.
It paused abruptly, locking its glowing eyes directly onto the hovering drone.
At that moment, pressure resonated against Raviah’s own Root. "Why is it staring directly at the feed?"
Elias rapidly adjusted the tracking sensors. "It might be detecting the drone’s electromagnetic energy signature."
The creature opened its jaws, releasing a pulse of concentrated energy straight toward the camera lens. The video feed collapsed into jagged static before cutting out.
"Signal lost on Drone Four!" the operator called out across the room.
Raviah immediately opened the remaining feeds, only to see interference waves sweeping through every active channel.
Across the remote forest, trees bent violently without any wind, crystalline vines retreated into the dirt, and every transformed animal turned in unison toward the deepest trench of the ravine.
Her root pulsed with an intense, agonizing ache. "Something is drawing all the surrounding energy to a single point."
"Get me a thermal and deep-ground scan of that depression right now," she commanded.
The technician executed the command, projecting a composite thermal layer over the main screen.
A massive, dense silhouette lay buried beneath the transformed forest floor, radiating several distinct energy nodes inside its chest that matched neither a standard Beast Core nor a Zerg crystalline hive network.
Elias stared at the impossible reading in disbelief. "What on earth is that?"
"I don’t know," Raviah answered, her eyes fixed on the center of the display.
The earth split open with a deafening roar. A colossal entity emerged from beneath the crystalline roots, splintering glowing trees into kindling as it rose into the evening air.
Its body was covered in broad, overlapping plates that were neither reptilian scales nor insectoid chitin. Luminous, branch-like appendages extended from its broad shoulders, while several elongated limbs planted into the fractured earth with deliberate, terrifying stability.
The entity lifted its head, revealing a brilliant, core-like organ glowing within its chest, surrounded by a complex cluster of smaller crystalline formations.
The automated system attempted to analyze the target, flashing consecutive failure messages across the screen:
[BIOLOGICAL SIGNATURE DETECTED]
[ENERGY STRUCTURE: UNKNOWN]
[SPECIES CLASSIFICATION: FAILED]
[EVOLUTIONARY CATEGORY: UNRECOGNIZED]
Raviah stared at the tactical display in stunned silence. Even Elias, who had spent years studying the most obscure biological anomalies in Project Elemental Awakening, stood completely frozen.
Slowly, the towering creature pivoted its frame, turning its gaze directly toward the direction of Sol Haven. Across the command center, every single monitor flared with an unprecedented energy spike.
The creature opened its eyes.
And for the first time since the celestial visitor’s blood had rained down upon the earth, Raviah felt something deeply answer the pull of her Root, not the Primordial Source nor the Zerg hive mind, but something entirely new.
