SUMMARY
He knows the theory. His hands still tremble.
Evan Xu graduated at the top of his department. Two months into his first hospital job, he was fired.
Now he works at Mingxin Clinic, a small neighborhood practice in China. He knows the medical theory, but when a patient sits across from him, even writing a prescription can feel impossible. His colleague never seems short of an explanation. Evan is much less certain—and painfully aware of how much he still needs to learn.
He wants to become a doctor his patients can trust. First, he has to find the courage to treat them.
For six months, a mysterious loading message has appeared whenever he closes his eyes. Now it reads:
System loading: 99%.
An illustrated serial about Chinese medicine, difficult cases, and the humor and responsibility of clinic life. Reader notes explain medical terms and Chinese cultural references. No prior knowledge of Chinese medicine is needed.
