...

Kael looked at the being standing above him with his golden eyes that were returning to normal.

A Demi God indeed.

His face turned solemn.

Now, Kael wasn’t exactly weak, actually, even as he stood in front of this monster, he didn’t feel very overwhelmed.

After all—

...

His stats were quite comparable.

Yes, after levelling up in the Heights, the current Kael was already strong enough to face a Demi God.

In fact, Kael was actually sure that if the two of them fought right now, he could take this man out 9 times out of 10, and even that single defeat was only when he used or did something completely out of his expectation, which, honestly, Kael thought was highly unlikely.

But...

As confident as Kael was in his abilities—

He could only be the victor if he fought this man in a one-on-one battle but...

This was Nerathis.

It was a World of Beast Tamers, these people did not fight alone, in fact, their own strength was often weaker.

The enemy was no different.

And Kael could see it.

He stared at the beast Astrael was standing on and his eyes turned golden again.

[Weaknesses: -]

...

This was the main issue.

Astrael’s Bond, an entity neither Kael, nor his Bonds were strong enough to defeat. This was what made Kael so grim.

The enemy was strong, much stronger than them, not to mention their men were better trained, better equipped and had better battlefield knowledge than them.

And this was all when he wasn’t even considering the injured and exhausted state of his soldiers.

He looked at Aurelia again, still having doubts even when Imperia told him her Ants didn’t see her doing anything suspicious. In fact, Aurelia seemed like she wanted to gain Kael’s support more than anything.

And even now, the instant she noticed Kael’s gaze on her, Aurelia shook her head, trying to say the same thing.

It wasn’t her.

She didn’t call them.

And honestly...

Kael believed that.

As he saw her, with her hands clenched in fear, shock and... frustration, he could see it.

Aurelia wanted more time, she wanted to stay here for a few more weeks, she wanted to see how Kael would manage the Heights, she wanted to understand him, to try and then convince him to join them.

To tell him that the Sky Kingdom wasn’t his enemy.

But this...

This ruined everything.

To think they would bring the Sky Army, that too, led by Lord Astrael in person, it was clear they weren’t sent to ’talk’.

This was intimidation.

That would not help in such a situation at all!

It would only ruin whatever good opinion Kael had of the Sky Kingdom.

And...

From the looks of it—

It already had.

Kael stared at the sky with an expressionless look on his face, Igni standing behind him growled, Eira was now hiding behind him, still looking at the sky with her big emerald eyes, but it was clear that the whole situation was too much for a three-day-old.

No matter how absurdly powerful or rare she was.

Lavinia too, stood up with a solemn look on her face.

"Sit."

Kael spoke as he looked at her pale face and weak body but—

"I can stand."

Lavinia nodded softly, Kael didn’t argue.

He looked back, the Sky Army remained in the air, clearly wanting to be in a position to look down on them.

Astrael looked around, first, his eyes fell on Aurelia, then on the Sky Kingdom Soldiers spread all over the place.

"So the reports were true."

He spoke in a calm, low voice, but in the dead silent battlefield, his words spread everywhere.

"General Aurelia and several Sky Kingdom soldiers were captured and imprisoned in the Heights, by the Velmourns at that."

"Lord Astrael, this is not—"

Aurelia tried to say something, to stop whatever was happening but—

Astrael simply raised his hand and Aurelia stopped.

"The Velmourns sure have gotten braver."

He commented, looking at the people standing beneath him.

And then—

"So have you."

Kael spoke up.

There was no point in hiding, everything was clear in plain sight, so instead of trying to hide like he did when Drakthar’s Army was here, this time—

Kael stepped into the air and stood on the same level as Astrael. Astrael blinked at that sight, a little surprised as to how a human was flying, but his surprise didn’t last long.

"Hero Kael."

He spoke with a calm look on his face.

"You brought an Army inside the Heights, do you no longer fear the Treaty of Vol—"

Before Kael could complete, Astrael interrupted and—

"You took our people prisoner."

"I did that because they attacked the Heights."

"They never attacked the Heights."

"They intercepted me when I was returning to the Heights."

"That is not the same thing."

Astrael shook his head, then, he looked at Kael and—

"You came into our territories, you attacked us and General Aurelia only predicted your movements.

You made the move, Hero Kael.

You raised your sword.

The Treaty of Vorgath no longer holds here."

"That is not what happened either."

Kael shook his head.

"Your General proposed a duel with clear conditions but your soldie—"

"It doesn’t seem like you understand, Hero Kael."

Astrael shook his head.

Then he looked at Kael and—

"It doesn’t matter what happened, what I see is my soldiers imprisoned by another force, a force that shouldn’t even have left their grounds in the first place—

To me, you were the ones who broke the Treaty first.

And—

That gives me the right to act."
