Dual Cultivation With My Yandere Disciples

Chapter 237: Examining the Rewards! Nine Origins’ Form!

  • Next Chapter

The first items to appear were the three Beast Emperor items.

Beast Emperor Pearl. Beast Emperor Codex. Beast Emperor Token.

Chen Xuan’s gaze first landed on the Beast Emperor Token.

It was round, crimson in color, and engraved with the images of several beasts.

Dragons. Tigers. Turtles. Phoenixes.

The Four Mythical Beasts.

Each of them was carved with extraordinary detail. Although the token was only palm-sized, the images seemed almost alive. The dragon appeared ready to soar into the heavens, the tiger looked capable of pouncing at any moment, while the turtle and phoenix exuded equally ancient and mysterious auras.

Yet aside from its beauty and obvious mysteriousness, the token displayed no other extraordinary characteristics. Or rather, it seemed to possess no function beyond being beautiful.

No matter whether Chen Xuan poured Spiritual Energy into it, enveloped it with his divine sense, or even attempted to activate it with his Law Mark, the token didn’t react in the slightest.

It was as though it were nothing more than an ordinary item.

This made him sigh.

The token’s description suggested that it had some other function, a hidden purpose beyond simply leading to the Beast Emperor’s inheritance.

Chen Xuan had originally believed that, with his current strength and the assistance of his Immortal Law Mark, he might be able to discover something.

Unfortunately, his hopes were quickly shattered.

’However, it makes sense.’

’This is presumably something created by Cai Yao after she became the Beast Emperor. If I, a Soul Formation cultivator, could uncover its secrets so easily, then she would be unworthy of her title as the Goddess of the Ocean.’

Moreover, the System itself had been unable to provide a more detailed explanation regarding the token.

If even the System’s description was so vague, its secrets were clearly not something he could uncover at his current level.

Chen Xuan shook his head.

There was no reason to waste more time on something he couldn’t understand.

He placed the token back into the System’s spatial storage and shifted his attention toward the remaining two items.

A crimson pearl that appeared to have been dyed in fresh blood.

A golden tome with the Four Mythical Beasts engraved upon its cover.

Upon seeing the first item, Chen Xuan immediately felt a strange change within his body.

His own blood seemed to have been stimulated by something.

A trace of inexplicable horror was born deep within his heart and, for a brief moment, he had the illusion that he wasn’t staring at an inanimate object.

Rather, he was facing a terrifying, bloodthirsty being. The feeling vanished almost as quickly as it appeared.

Chen Xuan’s expression changed slightly.

Although he quickly managed to snap out of it, the mere fact that such a thing had occurred was shocking enough.

With his current cultivation and the strength of his soul, ordinary illusions could no longer affect him. Even the remnants of the Nascent Soul turtle’s bloodline had been unable to make him feel the slightest pressure.

Yet this seemingly ordinary crimson pearl had caused his instincts to react before he even had time to understand what was happening.

After a brief investigation, Chen Xuan finally realized why that was the case.

’Calling this thing a pearl is somewhat unworthy.’ His eyes narrowed.

’It would be more accurate to call it Beast Emperor Blood.’

’More precisely... the Blood Essence of an Immortal Body.’

Yes!

After staring at it for some time and repeatedly examining its aura, Chen Xuan finally realized that this pearl was not a pearl at all.

Instead, it was a single drop of blood.

At first, he couldn’t understand to whom it belonged.

His first guesses were naturally a dragon or a phoenix. After all, the aura contained within it was ancient, domineering, and filled with a pressure capable of affecting even him.

Yet after attempting to match that aura with those in his memories, Chen Xuan gradually came to understand that he was wrong.

This blood did not belong to a beast. It belonged to a human!

To Cai Yao!

The realization caused Chen Xuan’s eyes to narrow further.

’To be able to suppress me with just a single drop of blood... just what kind of strength will the so-called Beast Emperor possess in the future?’

The more he thought about it, the more extraordinary the Immortal Body appeared.

Cai Yao had yet to truly awaken the potential of her Physique. Even now, she was merely a Foundation Establishment cultivator struggling to establish herself in the cultivation world.

Yet her future Blood Essence already contained enough power to make a Soul Formation cultivator instinctively feel threatened.

At the same time, another thought quietly emerged in Chen Xuan’s mind.

Could he use this Blood Essence as material to improve his Dragon-Phoenix Body?

After all, although it did not belong to a phoenix or a dragon, the Blood Essence of an Immortal Body was countless times purer.

If he could absorb even a fraction of its power, perhaps it would greatly enhance his Physique.

Unfortunately, the moment that thought took root in his mind, Chen Xuan’s heart suddenly trembled.

Alarm bells rang throughout his mind. His intuition screamed at him.

Danger!

Extreme danger!

The Beast Emperor Pearl concealed an unimaginable amount of horror. If he acted rashly, the only possible result would be his own death!

Chen Xuan’s expression turned solemn.

The warning had not come from his reasoning.

It was an instinct coming from his years of being a cultivator. Both his body and soul screamed at him.

Even his Immortal Law Mark seemed to have been stimulated.

It took several seconds before Chen Xuan finally recovered. He slowly exhaled.

His mind connected with the remnant power that was still speaking with Cai Yao, and he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

’Who would have thought that this ordinary girl, who is now respectfully calling me Senior, would one day be able to suppress me with a single drop of blood?’

’So much so that even the mere thought of absorbing it terrifies me...’

Chen Xuan shook his head. He felt that destiny was truly strange.

Unfortunately, knowing that he currently had no chance to take advantage of the Beast Emperor Pearl, Chen Xuan ultimately put it away.

There was also no suitable beast around for him to test its effects on. And even if there were, he had no intention of wasting such a treasure on an ordinary creature.

The Beast Emperor Pearl could tame beasts below the True Immortal Realm. Such an effect was terrifying enough that Chen Xuan couldn’t afford to use it carelessly.

The same happened to the Beast Emperor Codex.

Although he was curious about the spells hidden within it and believed that they could greatly enhance both his combat and auxiliary means, he knew that now was not the time to study them.

The Codex contained an extensive collection of Beast Taming knowledge, enough to support a Beast Taming cultivator until Ascension. It was clearly not something he could comprehend in a few hours with his current cultivation.

There was no need to waste his time.

Fortunately, he would always have time later. This illusion was the perfect place to study it.

With that thought, Chen Xuan placed the entire set of Beast Emperor items back into the System’s inventory.

That, however, did not mean that things were over just yet.

As Chen Xuan’s mind stirred, two more items appeared before him.

World Origin Seed. Nine Origins.

Unlike the items before them, which were mysterious yet relatively ordinary in appearance, these two went completely beyond Chen Xuan’s expectations.

His attention first landed on the World Origin Seed.

Contrary to what its name would suggest, it was not a seed at all.

Instead, it was a hand-sized transparent orb.

It somewhat resembled glass, save for the peculiar patterns covering its transparent surface and continuously moving.

The moment it appeared, Chen Xuan immediately sensed something unusual.

The Spiritual Energy in his surroundings surged.

It began flowing toward the orb at an extremely slow but steady pace. Upon entering it, the Spiritual Energy seemed to shrink down and transform into tiny illusory wisps.

Those wisps occupied only a minuscule portion of the orb’s interior. Their presence was so faint that even a Nascent Soul cultivator might not have been able to detect them.

Chen Xuan only noticed because of his Immortal Law Mark.

He quickly realized what was happening.

’The World Origin Seed has two requirements before it can transform into a Mortal World.’

’First, a powerful enough Law to sustain its operation.’

’Second, enough energy to support its growth.’

What was happening now was obviously the latter.

The seed was autonomously absorbing Spiritual Energy to strengthen itself.

It didn’t require Chen Xuan to actively nurture it. As long as it remained in an environment containing sufficient energy, it would slowly continue accumulating power.

Unfortunately, Chen Xuan soon discovered a major problem.

The speed was far too slow.

Based on its current rate of absorption, it would take hundreds of thousands of years before the World Origin Seed was completely filled.

And that was only assuming that its requirements would remain the same throughout the process.

Chen Xuan had no way of knowing whether the seed’s appetite would increase as it gradually developed.

Besides the time required, however, the fact that this world simply didn’t possess enough Spiritual Energy to provide for it was another major issue.

Not only this illusion.

Even the Mortal World where Chen Xuan’s real body was currently located would be incapable of supplying the World Origin Seed with enough energy. After all, the birth of an entire world was not something that could be achieved merely by gathering Spiritual Energy.

’Perhaps only the Immortal World possesses enough energy to truly let this seed bloom,’ Chen Xuan thought inwardly.

Of course, this was a matter for the future.

He was still a Soul Formation cultivator, far from reaching Soul Transformation, much less the Void Refining Realm.

The System had already made it clear that a Void Refining-level Law was necessary to sustain a newly created world.

Until he reached that level, there was no reason to think too deeply about the World Origin Seed. Even if he wanted to create his own Mortal World, he simply didn’t possess the qualifications to do so yet.

With that thought, Chen Xuan carefully placed the transparent orb away.

Compared to the Beast Emperor items, he handled it with considerably more caution. After all, even if he couldn’t make use of it now, its potential value was obvious.

Then, his gaze shifted toward the final item.

Or rather, the items.

Nine Origins.

The moment Chen Xuan saw them, a trace of surprise flashed across his eyes.

He had expected countless possibilities.

Yet he had never expected their form to be like this!

"Woo! Woo! Woo!"
