DMS Chapter 128

Flinx was truly amazed at his ninth-level Wizard Spell, Wish. It actually shaved off more than thirty years from Monalisa’s age, and the only side effect was that he couldn’t use the spell for two weeks.

Another great thing he had learned about casting the Wish spell was that his Transmigration System would actually inform him of the negative result of casting the Wish spell when using it with a specific intent. Because of that, Flinx felt that it would be safe for him to cast the said spell in the future.

Menard and his brother Leonard, along with their wives, were gawking at their mother, who now looked younger than they were.

Menard was a little wiser since he asked his mother what she’d paid to make herself younger.

“You don’t need to worry too much. Ruiz’s deity looked to be a “good” one, so the only payment that was requested was mana stones,” Monalisa told her two children.

Menard and his brother looked relieved since a price that could be paid using material things was a low price for such a spell that their mother had received.

“I can’t stay any longer since I’m still on a mission,” Flinx said to everyone.

“Thank you again for all the things that you’ve helped us with. I’ll make sure to gather the mana stones within the time frame I promised,” Monalisa told Flinx, who simply nodded.

In truth, Flinx didn’t intend to return to Evanor to receive the payment for the spell. He would just let their family worry about it for a long time. There was a chance that in the future, the deal would become their family’s legend.

Even though Monalisa and her family wanted Flinx to stay longer for some sort of celebration, Flinx insisted on leaving immediately. He had a goal that he needed to attend to, and Flinx knew that the only reason why Monalisa and her family wanted him to stay longer was the fact that they wanted to get closer to him, simply because he was capable of casting powerful Cleric spells, including turning someone young.

Flinx wanted to laugh when he overheard Menard and his brother’s wives asking their husbands to request the same spell from Flinx, the same spell that Monalisa had received, even though technically, they were still young enough.

The fact was, the two women were now envious of their husbands’ mother. She turned from a sickly old woman who was about to die to the most beautiful woman in their household. Still, even if Flinx was willing to cast the spell for them, the Wish spell was simply not available anymore.

Once he left the merchants’ house, Flinx walked briskly towards the gate until he reached a somewhat hidden alley, then he cast his defensive spells, the Fly spell, and lastly, the Invisibility spell. He knew that he was being followed by someone, and he didn’t know who they were. The truth was, he didn’t care. He wanted to leave the city and go directly to the headquarters of the Torbal Slavers to rescue his fellow Earthlings.

Once Flinx was invisible, he didn’t wait any longer and started flying towards the west. He flew nonstop until the sun started to set. He was flying for so long that he started to get used to the action, which allowed him to enjoy the surrounding areas.

The world of the Wizard Enslavers was beautiful. Unlike the modern world, it was untouched by the dirtiness brought by modern technology. The air was pristine and fresh, the forest was filled with all the shades of emerald, and the desert wilderness on the other side had a stark and raw beauty that was unforgiving to the ignorant and weak.

Flinx knew that if he was the one traveling the wilderness, if he didn’t have magic, there was a chance that he would die. Not only because of the lack of resources like water and food, or the extreme temperature that governs the desert both in the day and at night, but also because there were monsters in the desert, and most of them were hidden and were just waiting to ambush their prey.

While admiring the surrounding areas, Flinx was extremely grateful that his buffs' durations were shown in his sight, so there was little chance that he would be able to neglect refreshing them. He was so far up in the sky that Flinx knew that if he fell, there was a good chance that he would die.

Flinx simply chose a place beside the road to cast his Galder’s Tower spell instead of staying at the villages that he had passed through. He didn’t want to deal with other people. Once he was inside his tower, the first thing he did was take a bath and eat food. After that, he slept immediately since he was exhausted from his nonstop flying during the day. He wasn’t worried about anyone disturbing him since Pip and a Wind Elemental stood guard for him.

The next day, the first thing he did was to check the forums regarding the status of his fellow Earthlings. Upon seeing that the number of the surviving Earthlings remained the same, Flinx was comforted. After breakfast, the sun wasn’t even up yet, but he didn’t care and continued his flight to the west with Pip and the Wind Elemental following him.

At around four in the afternoon, Flinx reached the kingdom of Urum. Instead of stopping to check things out there, he decided to bypass it even though he was curious to see the kingdom. According to the map that he purchased from the Information Broker from the unnamed town, Urum was a rare city. It was one of the “good” kingdoms in this part of the continent.

After passing Urum, he continued flying without stopping until the sun had set again. As usual, he cast his Galder’s Tower spell beside the road.

While he was taking a bath, Pip informed him telepathically that a carriage pulled by a wounded horse and a wounded driver was rushing along the streets, about to approach Flinx’s tower. Pip investigated while hidden by the Invisibility spell and saw that inside the carriage, there was a young woman and an old man. The two appeared to be well-off since both were wearing nice clothes.

Behind their carriage, a group of men was chasing the carriage. The men looked like bandits with their rough clothes and weapons drawn. Some of the weapons still had blood on them.

Flinx assumed that the blood on the bandits’ weapons came from whoever was guarding the rich old man and the young woman.

Normally, Flinx would help the two, but he didn’t want his mission interrupted, so he just let Pip handle the rescue if the owl decided to help. After that, he severed his connection with his familiar and continued enjoying his bath.

What Flinx didn’t know was that after he disconnected from his familiar, Pip, for some unknown reason, decided to help the old man and the young woman. Pip revealed itself to the bandits and started casting spells toward the men chasing the carriage. The owl was brutal and made sure that its attacks were lethal.

Most of the bandits were killed by Pip’s spell, causing the other bandits to run away. When the driver heard Pip’s screech and the shouts of the bandits, the man stopped the carriage and looked back. He immediately informed the old man inside the carriage what was happening to the bandits. The carriage driver, the old man, and the young woman watched while a powerful owl killed most of the bandits using powerful spells.
